He pointed out the good and the bad about the gutters, which we appreciated as we bought the house during the winter while there was significant snow on the roof so the home inspector could not do a complete inspection. We wound up asking him to provide a quote on a few extra services that we will be interested in him doing later this summer. We moved into our house a few months ago and noticed a downspout over our driveway was creating puddles above our basement during heavy rains and snow melt. I reached out to several companies that were highly-rated on Yelp. Only one company returned my voicemail -- a month later. Someone came by to give an estimate and promised to send it the next day, but I never heard from them. When reached out after a week , they told me it would cost $510 to remove the downspout, plug the hole in the gutter, and redirect that gutter to another downspout. I was willing to move forward with this work, but I was really discouraged by their lack of communication. I thought there had to be at least one company with good reviews who would respond in a timely way, so I decided to check the companies advertising to us by mail. Of those, only one company had consistently positive reviews online -- J.R. England. My experiences working with J.R. England could not have been more different than the negative and confusing interactions I had or read about with other companies. Kate and Ryan are a husband and wife team. Kate responded to me in under an hour, visited our home the next morning, and completed a series of estimates for me before the end of business hours that day. I was impressed by her responsiveness, knowledge, generosity, and demeanor. Similarly, Ryan completed the repair a day after I approved the estimate, and he was friendly and forthcoming with his expertise -- never intimidating, condescending, or pushy. On top of all that, the repair turned out great, and unlike the previous company, he was willing to install an all new gutter, without any need to plug a hole, for just $350! I can't imagine hiring anyone else for gutter repairs or cleanings, let alone for a more expensive job, like installing gutter guards. I strongly encourage you give them a call.

Because the leaf guard was not working, and debris was collecting within the first three months of installation, and we are in our 70's, and can't climb the ladder, our neighbor took a look at it. He is a licensed contractor for gutters and leaf guards. He thought he could fix the job (the leaf guard was not installed properly, but he could not. Well....we ended up having to pay $1100 for removal of Lockhart's work, and cleaning and replacing gutters, and installing a new leaf filter, which works magnificently. Lockhart would not offer any solution or compromise when we brought this to their attention. True, we did not take pictures , as they said we should have because climbing a ladder is a challenge, but why, after paying them $1300, would we pay another contractor $1100? We did have a receipt for both jobs. We trust our neighbor. I am hoping that the roof lasts.

after receiving a quote for approximately 6K my final bill was almost 12K!…read moreafter speaking with the receptionist, salesman, then the owners son, he yelled at me and told me that if I had read my contract that I would not have issues with the bill and that's what I owe, if I don't pay him then he will move forward and I will be respond for all legal fees. I tried to explain if the sales Mersin had turned the contract over and went over the hidden costs and circled the dollar amounts so a customer would be more prepared for the final bill... and he cut me off and said, it's not my problem if you don't know how to read. I deal with this crap all of the time. if you don't pay me in two weeks I'll take legal action. he wouldn't even let me explain my areas of concern and the difference from what the sled man said to me face to face and what was actually in the final bill. what a pour pour way to conduct business! Don't use these people. they are experts at fraud and misrepresentation!!!!
