My exhaust bolt broke and had a leak and it was also hitting my sway bar in the rear. I have a Buttonwillow track day the very next day and Alvin/Vern were able to squeeze me in on the same day. I dropped my car off at 8:30AM and they had it ready around 3:30pm. I paid $250 and they took off the whole exhaust, fixed the leak and welded a custom pipe to clear the sway bar. I've had Vern install 2 systems for me, on my current and last car. Both cars are modified and shown. My latest setup is a Magnaflow SS dual in/out single muffler with 2 Magnaflow double wall slash cut tips. I also had them remove the pre-silencer and install an equalizer pipe to give more ground clearance (car is slammed low) and a bit more rumble to the V8. They do good quality work and very reasonable prices. This exhaust system is the best sounding exhaust I've had -I'm not kidding, I freakin' love how it sounds and looks, it doesn't drone at any speed, load or RPM, it's just perfect. 2007 Mustang GT 4.6 Headers, catalytic converters and H pipe install. The car drives great and still has an aggressive tone but is not obnoxious. Still has plenty of go!! I had called and talked to a few places and after talking and reading reviews I decided to get the work done here at Sweeney's. Came over in December and had a nice visit with Alvin and talked about the install. As this was an out of state car I needed the headers and exhaust to be SMOG compliant. After the new year I followed up and put money down for parts, this is when I met Verne. Both guys made me comfortable enough with letting someone else work on my car. They had the tools to get the job done and the headers were well put together. The guys and the job they did get them 5 stars but I am trying to be honest here. The 4 stars is only due to the parking and access to the garage and some of the welds on the H pipe could have been better. 1: The welds where left raw and had porosity and will need addressed this summer when I have somewhere to work on the car. 2: It is very cramped and was hard to find the first time I went over. I had to park down the street when I went over and paid my deposit. I realize that parking isn't something they can control in this location and has no reflection on the work they did. But I am trying to be truthful and open about my experience. The quality of the pipe could have been better and if I had more time I would have sourced better parts. I would let them work on the car again should I get in a jam and need something done I cant get to. I would also send friends and family to them without having any regret after. Couldn't help but let the ricer boy inside me modify my Acura. Rather than pay 10x more for an aftermarket exhaust that I can't see, I figured chopping off the muffler was my next best option to get some noise and lose some lbs. In the past, I owned a 2013 Charger RT and wanted to give the car more of an aggressive sound. Verne and Alvin took very good care of me and the result was better than I expected. I now own a 2014 Charger SXT and I went back to Verne and Alvin to see what could be done to "wake up" my 3.6 V6, to make it sound like my earlier RT did after they worked their magic. After conferring with Alvin, to confirm his suspicion, Verne told me what I was asking for was not possible. He explained first, that no matter what performance system I installed on a V6, it simply would not sound like a V8. Secondly, and more importantly, Verne explained how my car's exhaust system was set up from the factory, and that to accomplish making the car a "true" dual exhaust system, would involve replacing the factory fuel cell for a factory fuel cell designed for a V8. And at the end of the day, after major expense, I would still have a V6 that would not deliver the sound I was looking for with any performance mufflers. So why would I write a review for a vendor I did not do business with one might ask? Simple answer; Verne and Alvin are men of integrity and conscience. They refused to "just take my money". Instead, they took very good care of me, educating me on why what I wanted was not possible. Who wouldn't want to do business with such fine people? read more
