Since the late 90s, we have bought what we call our "New-Used" Cars at Swedish Connection/JMV Motors: Saabs, Santa Fe, Jeep (used, but "new" to us!!) .... Joe and his crew have maintained our vehicles, they have never let us down, and our cars live ripe old ages!
---The work is excellent and if there happens to be something amiss after a repair, Joe makes it right. Ive popped by with a broken windshield wiper or burned out bulb, they stop everything to fix it and send me along, rarely any charge unless serious work needed. Any repairs, Joe goes out of his way to find good used parts to cut costs for us. He is upfront with estimates, no B.S, no bait/switch, turns the car around usually the same day.
---We've been going to Joe for so long now, he even contacts us when a car comes up that he thinks we might be interested in. We've rarely spent more than $6K for great used cars, getting 80-100K+ miles during their time with us because we change the oil and maintain the cars mechanics. We drive them until they are on the brink of no return, then trade in for another... My current 2005 Saab 9-5, we bought in 2010 for $5000 with 78K miles on it, its presently at 129K miles, its been an awesome car, Joe went through it so everything is in great working order, and now we're giving it to a relative who needs transportation. The likelihood that she will be able to put another 50K+ miles on this car is a reality!
--Now to the people who complain: KARMA: If you give rude, you get rude back. That's all. So be pleasant, you usually get pleasant back. If you dont, walk out. End of story.
---And for those buying $10K and under USED cars: You are buying a USED car for ridiculously cheap prices. Joe and his team give each car a thorough once-over before putting it on the lot. Guess what, things are bound to go wrong with an older car, which are often unforeseeable and are not present at the time of sale. That's not Joe's fault, that is the nature of buying a used car!!!
---We look at it like this: You want a pristine warranty that will cover the cost of most repairs within a year or two? Go spend $30K for a brand new car. You'll still end up paying toward certain repairs and maintenance.
---We prefer a $5-6K car from JMV Motors, and anticipate $2-3K a year in repairs and maintenance, Some years we spend next to nothing but a tune up and oil changes, other years, stuff happens. But in the long run, we think we are getting the best possible deals and service, and will continue to go to Joe/ JMV Motors for years to come!! read more
