I had been here a bunch of times in the past before the pandemic using ClassPass. The biggest draw of this gym is that workouts are circulations through 4 stations for a total of 40 minutes and start every 10 minutes. This means that, for example, if you are signed up for an 8:00 am slot but run late, no problem, you can join the 8:10 am or 8:20 am start. I went to this location a couple days ago for the first time since its reopening at the beginning of January 2021. They were on the first floor before, but they have signs saying they moved upstairs to the second floor in the same building. You do have to wear a mask during the workout at present. There was originally only enough space in each station for 4 people, so I imagine they would restrict more spots in each workout slot now. The reason they are able to have rotating stations at 10 minute intervals is that there are no instructors at each individual station, just one trainer in the overall workout area overseeing everyone. (During busier pre-pandemic times, there were two trainers sometimes.) The way you find out what movements to perform at each station is a monitor with videos of the movements and an interval timer that sounds sirens for the start and end of each 40 second exercise interval. You do have to be able to quickly grasp the movements shown before the next interval starts, but you have 3 rounds to get those movements right. The first station has a long turf that usually involves ropes or sled pushes, and the middle stations include sandbag movements and weight lifts. The last stations usually have a core movement like plank rollers or supine weight lifts. You are now expected to grab a cleaning towel and cleaning spray and wipe down the equipment you used at each station during the one minute break between stations. With this kind of structure, you're sure to get a great workout and stay busy during every second! I would advise taking some time after the last round to stretch because they do not include a cool down in the round. Bring a water bottle, a towel, your mask and get it done here! read more

This gym has an interesting concept. The idea is that you can join every 10 mins so even if you sign up for a specific time and you happen to be late you can still join to start 10 mins later. They have specific stations with screens where they show all the moves so you can just follow along. They will have your initials so you don't get lost. The gym is located on the second floor so just follow the signs to get there. They have lockers and restrooms on the back of the room next to the restrooms. When I was there the first time I left my things on a corner but the instructor showed me where the lockers where so I didn't need to worry about my things being on the way. When you first get there, make sure to connect with the coach to ensure you understand where you should start. This workout can be intimidating if you don't work out regularly since it involves a lot of different moves but the screens help a lot and you can always follow the people on your group or reach out to the coach if you have any questions. The work out goes fast and you have to make sure you are following along to ensure you move to the next station when needed. My only concern is the fact that there is not much time to clean in between stations. They use different props including heavy bags, matts, dumbbells, kettlebells, ropes, bikes, among others so it would be nice to be able to clean them after the previous group was sweating all over them. They do have disinfectant wipes all around but I noticed not everyone was using them, so just make sure you have them close in between workouts and you should be OK. I was also a little confused about stretching at the end, it looked like there was an additional station to stretch but I noticed my group just left right away so I just end up stretching on my own. After going a couple times you get the hang of it and get used to the speed! read more

Honestly the best thing about this place is the convenience of having a class starting every ten minutes. If you like dark club- like workout areas, you'll love this. You basically come in and follow along with video workouts. There are staff occasionally on the floor to help you out but very minimal supervision. You can make this as challenging as you want. I have seen them scrubbing down equipment between sets but it's not always consistent and members rarely clean after themselves. Not the friendliest front desk especially if you're a ClassPass member and are 3 minutes late due to Venetian Causeway traffic. Otherwise a decent place to get 40 minutes of work in. You are totally on your own! They had some good trainers but they've all left and the ones there just say keep going or one more left instead of actually going around and correcting form! This morning there was not a single employee on the floor as in I cam stretched started, the guy came out with towels and went back to the back. For 40 min not a single employee on the floor. Super sad cause it's a great spot but the employees obviously don't care and don't want to be there. I'll be cancelling because it's just not worth it anymore. read more

Great spot to hit it your on vacation in Sobe. Just finished a class with my wife and we came away both exhausted and exhilarated. We got started almost immediately after the brief sign in and instruction. The 40 minutes flew by and the coaching was just the right level. The exercises are straight forward and the video monitors are highly effective instructive. Will definitely go back next time we're here. Maybe even Sunday. There's no locker room, so be prepared to dress in what you plan to workout in and shower somewhere else. We highly recommend. read more

Classes are too easy. The weights stop at 50lbs so for anyone looking for a good workout go elsewhere. Additionally, unless you call and cancel 30 days prior to the end of your billing cycle they charge you for the month. Sweat 440 is an amazing gym in Sunset Harbor. What makes the gym so great is that it uses a number of creative exercises in an inventive matter which make the workout amazingly diverse, both in class, and from class to class. It is incredibly fun. The gym is set up so there are 4 workout stations. Each station has 3 exercises where you perform 3 rounds of the circuit for 40 seconds on 20 seconds off (the exercises change daily). You do this 3 times and then you get a minute to rest/change stations. The gym throws EVERYTHING at you. There are machines, there is body weight stuff, there are weights, there is plyometrics, you name it. The flow of the gym is also really great. "Classes" start every 10 minutes so you jump in with a group of folks doing the exercises in your station, while others are ahead of you completing their workout. It's kind of like playing rounds of golf with other golfers on the course. The system is very orderly and each station you being watched by a trainer who makes sure your form is proper and that you are doing the exercises correctly and safely. The trainers are of course really friendly and encouraging. The music played at the gym was also top notch and conducive for really giving maximum effort during the grueling workout. Sweat 440 is an incredibly well thought out idea for a gym and an incredible workout. The first class is free and I signed up for a membership as soon as my session was over. This is my new favorite place to work-out on Miami Beach. My wife took me to a few of her class pass things, Barry's, kick-boxing, and so-on, and I never clicked with any of them. Finally she brought me to Sweat 440 for a free class and I loved it. Amazing work-out. I bought a month pass the next day and told my buddy about it and he's going now too. So this is my review: 1) It's basically a tabata HIIT style work-out, pushing hard for 40s on, 20s off, for a total of 40 minutes. The movements are functional, full body, TRX bands, rowing, assault bike, Medicine balls, core, and so on. I haven't seen bicep curls yet hahaha. 2) The classes start every 10 minutes, and rotate through, so you can drop in whenever you're free, and you're in and out in 40 minutes. I spend a lot of time at work so this was a big selling point for me. 3) I'm telling you, you leave feeling completely wrecked. The classes are hard. And they're truly variable to as hard as you can push yourself. My functional capacity isn't as a good as it was when I was younger so I'm slowing down towards the end hahaha, but even a professional CrossFit athlete would get an amazing work-out, because you're sprinting as hard as you're capable during the work session. 4) I've met Cody, who I think is one of the owners, and a couple of the other trainers, and they're all super nice, which was another selling point. Let's be honest sometimes the trainers on Miami Beach are a little pretentious, so it's really refreshing when you go and it's just friendly folks with a good idea trying to make you get after it. I want to say that I have been a member of Sweat440 since its inception and I have always loved the workouts. That being said, over the last few months my experience has been soured by the lack of good coaches. I always loved how the coaches pushed you to work harder without being pushy or obnoxious. If I was doing an exercise wrong, they showed me how it is done. If I am doing it right, they showed me how to do it better. And one of my favorite classes is Wednesdays. Great core workouts. Yet the coaches they have in the afternoon do less than nothing. One guy just stands at the desk, occasionally walking around to pick stuff up. The other guy just walks around and screams "Work!" and flirts with the girls working out. I'm sorry but that's just annoying. Oh, am I supposed to work now? I was just gonna lie here another minute. I miss the old Sweat400 and can't say I will be sticking around much longer. read more

Exercise is fun and fast and some of the coaches, like Eduardo, are very professional, caring and motivating. Unfortunately they have an extremely rude and incompetent manager at Sobe location. At first, she didn't want to honor a gift certificate I received, because she didn't know what that was and said she wasn't in charge when it was issued... blablabla, until other friend members explained to her. But worst of all, on another occasion, somebody took our spots for exercise and she absolutely didn't bother checking on her list who those people were, etc. We had been standing there for 30 min and waiting for her to tell us when to start... Note that there is no way to know when the exercise starts, if she doesn't okays you! And... yes, the sweat... it's all over the place, floors, gym props... not my standard of hygiene. Sweat 440 is EXACTLY what this nurse needs. With a Monday-Friday schedule with guaranteed OT almost each week, there's only so much time in the day I can spare after being exhausted at work. This place is awesome! I came here through ClassPass and then signed up for the membership. I am by no means super fit. Most of my workout experience is from spinning, so I was totally intimidated by weights and TRX and all that stuff. One class later, I was hooked. The instructors are amazingly patient and take the time to make sure your form is correct. Most of the exercises can be adjusted to your level. Most of the other reviews already covered the structure of the classes so I won't go into that again, but it is amazingly helpful that all of the exercises are up on the TV screens. You can always check if you forget which exercise to do next. The vibe here is amazing, also. No judgment or intimidation (like some of the other more highfaluting places on South Beach) and your fellow classmates will help you out if you need it. Most importantly, it is a great workout and you're in and out in 40 minutes. So far, I've done classes with Edwin, Andrew and Paris and they are all top-notch, extremely knowledgeable, motivating and encouraging coaches. This really feels like my forever gym! read more

I was welcomed as I was walking by late at night after classes were done and because of that I came the next morning. Really good to get a full body workout ! I loved it, trainers walking around checking ur form constantly! The screens display how to execute the movement so u can always look up and don't be lost. A great class but they have scheduling issues. They only allow to book 20 minutes out. They don't monitor who is registered for each time so you can get aced out even with a reserved spot. Once they get that free for all together, they would be 5 star. read more
