A friend and I went this afternoon and we were drenched afterwards. It took us more than 20 minutes to locate the facility and the telephone number listed did not work. It was a mess. But the actual class was good. It was HOT. Not as hot as a sauna but it was super warm and more difficult to keep up than I thought it would be. But we didn't die. Lol. Nice class. The gym looks like it's state of the art also.

But after hearing so many good things about SoulCycle, I decided to give it a try--despite my hesitation. If I'm being honest, I did not expect to like it as much as I did. What I quickly realized is that the instructor and the music make all the difference. My instructor was Vynnessa , and she has the perfect personality to keep you motivated from start to finish. Her energy was encouraging without being overwhelming, and she really knew how to keep the class engaged. And the playlist? That's what sealed the deal for me. She had a Bad Bunny-themed ride, and let's just say it kept me going! Sometimes in spin classes, if the music isn't vibing, it's easy to focus on how tired and sweaty you feel--but this playlist had me locked in. One thing I really loved was the sense of community. It didn't feel like a room full of strangers just riding bikes. During class, we even took a moment to celebrate a fellow rider's personal accomplishment, and I thought that was such a special touch. Now, yes--my butt was definitely sore the next day (which comes with the territory), but overall, the experience completely changed my perspective. SoulCycle Buckhead will definitely be seeing me again soon.

There were so many people and the instructor Vynessa was AWESOME. This class was a "Bad Bunny & Friends" music theme. Everyone was having such a good time in class. The class included mainly cycling, but there were some dumbbell portions towards the end of the class, which was a nice added touch. Upon arriving, a worker gave me a rundown of the studio and showed me my own personal locker too. All of the staff were really nice and really made me feel welcome. Not only at the beginning, but at the end too. They asked if I enjoyed it after I was done, to which I replied, "OF COURSE!!" It was definitely really fun, and I do plan on coming back again in the near future.

The parking lot can get very crowded, especially when Costco is open but I was always able to find a spot. The gym brings a lot of energy by playing music outside and having very friendly and helpful staff at the front. Even though I went during prime morning hours, both during the week and on the weekend, the gym was never super crowded which made working out even better. I signed up for a different class each day I went. The CS4 and Hyrox classes were the most difficult, in terms of getting a good workout and sweat in, whereas the rebound and reform classes were great for active recovery and strength training. I signed up for all the classes at the beginning of the week and did not have any problem getting into the ones I wanted. The gym itself is really nice. It seems very new, with all new and clean equipment. The cardio machines are located upstairs with the majority of the functional training, weights, machines, and other workout areas on the main level. They have a basketball court and a recovery area. As far as I could tell, the basketball court is included but the recovery area costs extra. I did try the recovery area and it is very nice. They have compression lounges, cryotherapy, hydro massages, and red light therapy. I am unsure on the pricing of these but I very much enjoyed the hydro massage and compression lounge. The locker rooms are fully equipped with built-in, easy to use locks on the lockers; shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the showers; and lotion and hair dryers. They also provide towels and have a sauna. The showers have great pressure and heat up almost instantly. Overall, the gym is extremely nice and worth the cost for having classes, a basketball court, and new equipment if you're looking for a nicer gym to go to.

Unfortunately, since I moved and am now a broke graduate student, I haven't had the time to consistently keep up with a studio. I've tried several studios around ATL and since Rukus was opening up a new studio near where I worked, I figured I would stop by during their grand opening. **They are offering classes for free this weekend and if you download their app, you can get an additional 4 classes for free!** Although the studio is located in Midtown, there is a parking garage behind the studio. A worker from the studio texted me the code for free parking a couple of hours before my class (you get an hour and half for free- plenty of time to get in and out). The studio is very clean and bright inside. They don't have locker rooms here, but instead have individual bathrooms with showers inside! The bathrooms are fully stocked with deodorant, razors, and even toothbrushes for you to use! They also provide free shoes for you to use as well. The shoes do run a little small - I had to get a full size up. Unfortunately, the shoes I usually use to cycle didn't work here so I had to borrow one of their shoes. I use a different clip-in system than Rukus does and couldn't get my shoes to clip-in. My clip-ins are a little old though, so I think I'll try again when I switch them out . Plus, thinking back, I think I was trying to clip them in the wrong side of the pedal, oops. Also, a very cool thing about this studio is that they have a separate (smaller) rooms with a couple of bikes. Apparently, if you come to class late, you can enter this room and either take a class through Peleton or join in on the current class through a live-feed. I thought this was very cool as there's nothing worse than showing up late and setting up your bike during class. I can easily see myself coming back to Rukus as it's close to my workplace (and I have 4 more rides to use -yay), but there are a couple of things that I didn't like. I think my bike was malfunctioning because the screen would randomly flash during class and it took a while for the gear number to change after I moved the gear knob. Also, the gear number would randomly change even if I didn't touch the knob - not sure what was up with that. The music was very loud so it made listening to the instructor very difficult. I do enjoy loud music when I cycle, but if I can't really hear the instructor, it kind of takes away from the experience. The instructor didn't really explain how the different zones worked on the television screen. I noticed how the colors next to your name changed at certain times while I was biking, but I didn't know why until I got my stats e-mailed to me after class. There wasn't an option to book a certain bike number on the app either and the bike is assigned to you after you check-in. I'm not sure if it's just the app that doesn't let you choose the bike as I haven't tried to book a bike on the website yet. Overall, there are a couple of kinks that need to be worked out (especially the instructor's microphone), but I would definitely come back soon!

The theme was "Trap, Twerk, and Booty Werk" and the playlist did not disappoint! You know the class is gonna be hype when the first song is Beyoncé "Drunk in Love". Check in was so easy and everyone was really welcoming. At the time I went, the first class was $10. This location is small since it's Midtown. You can park in the Publix lot for free or do street parking. They do have lockers and restrooms to change, but I believe there are only 2 or 3 single person restrooms so I would just come already changed. I like how you don't have to pay extra to rent cycling shoes like some places. Once in the studio, there are people to help you get situated and get your bike adjusted and shoes clipped in, which was so helpful! The class is so fun that you don't even really feel like you're working out since there are lights and music videos. It's kinda like you went to the club and just happened to be getting an awesome work out in as well, haha. They have a leaderboard if you're the competitive type. I had a great experience at this studio and can't wait to take another class! As part of our "try em all" approach, we booked at Vibe Ride for their first class of the day! Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the staff and quickly checked in! The team all helped us figure out the bike setup (different than what our home studios use) and we were on our way! Based on the friendliness of the instructor and the high energy from others, I was excited. As the class started, I was a bit shocked to see we were using music videos on YouTube as our music. Considering there are commercials/ ads and they wanted to skip certain parts of the song... it was a struggle. After a couple of songs and it not being anything like what I was used to (smoothly run, no breaks in music, etc), I was pretty checked out. I wanted to love this place from the staff and the vibes but my colleagues and I all left saying we wouldn't come back. The class seemed choppy with the YouTube use and the moves shown didn't always seem safe with the stability of these bikes. Unfortunately not a place for me but others did clearly love their experience.

The space is nice (will get more photos next time), clean, and spacious. I forgot to ask, but don't think the studio has been there long. The bathroom has showers and is spacious and clean. There are easy to use lockers to secure your things. There are a lot of bikes packed into the studio room, but it didn't feel crowded when riding, even during a full class. They provide a sweat towel and shoes for the bikes, and give you a free water bottle to take home after your first class! The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. I felt like they were happy to have me there. And even though there were a lot of people in attendance, I felt they gave me the individualized attention I needed to get set up. The girl who worked the counter adjusted the bike for my size, and explained how to work the resistance settings. I do, however, wish they explained more about the instructions the coach / instructor would be giving during class -- for example, the different positions on the bike (first, second, third) I had to learn by watching the instructor and/or other participants in the class. I would have liked to know what all the instructions meant before I heard them during the class. Carlee was great. I don't know how she keeps that big energy going so long! Lol. There was more cussing than I was expecting.. but I cuss a lot myself so I can handle it -- it just caught me off guard. I would go back to another of her classes if I do go back. This studio allows students from ClassPass, so if you are a ClassPass member and interested, look them up on there. They also said the first class with them (sans ClassPass) is free!
