They are still an excellent stable that is currently looking at expanding this year, possibly expanding their observation room, adding a large storage area & feed room with plans of heating and air conditioning to the add on! The most important is to add an extra 4-5 stalls to the stable, reason is they are full, with of a waiting list with horses coming from performance stables and stables that are closing. they are full! They have a private Facebook site to keep all boarders apprised of clinics, hay delivery feed delivery arena maintenance and treating of the arena, farriers and vets, plus they take (pictures) at around 9PM every night when water is checked and horses are checked for any issues then uploaded to the private site to stop upset old staff from seeing the quality of attention they spend making everyone happy ! The wonderful staff: Renee, Jean, Trina, Sarah Abbie, Abigale, Chloe, Gage, Landon and of course Leila. They have over 70yrs combined knowledge with handling horses! They do not train they bring other trainers in to work with boarders. First time I've done a review like this.... I have know the owners of this beautiful piece of property for 5 + years now and their dream has been to have their own boarding stable. They accomplished this a year ago and have done absolute wonders with this barn since opening the doors..... I know know what's going on with my horse every day. I know if my horse gets injured, I will be the first person to be called, as it should be. The staff that started out with Renee and Chris have been replaced, and the barn is drama free, and anyone who would make up lies about a place because they have been replaced is not only just disgruntled, they are just angry because they blew it here.... We have a part time trainer and instructor now and the BS is gone. We do not want or need people in this barn who cannot comply with very basic rules. This is a family type atmosphere , and we want it to to stay that way... It's lovely , peaceful, and I feel very fortunate to be able to keep my old guy here. I know he will be taken care of. The negative reviews you see all come from friends of the ex-trainer who was kicked to the curb. Those pictures of the moldy hay? They were going to be put into a fire pit to be burned...not actually being fed. Skinny horses? The horses are all fat and happy. What the negative review neglects to mention is the owners let the trainer run the barn and care of the horses so everything stated from "cutting of grain" to safety concerns? They were all under Liz's care. She hand picked her own staff to feed the horses, she and her staff cleaned the stalls. They called the barn owners horse "Stupid and would be better off as dog food." Trainer was kicked out because she was causing drama between boarders and creating a negative environment. The owners of this boarding barn on the other hand are pleasant and happy to show you around, answer all your questions and will even text you if something is going on with your horse (keeping you updated) while also posting nightly barn check photos of your horses. Actually go out and get a tour and hear from other boarders there before making an assumption. read more

I toured Swan Creek Equestrian Center last week as I am interested in moving my horse from our current barn.  I found both owners to be polite, intelligent and very professional.  The stalls were very clean, the aisles are wide and swept.  They have a very nice observation room and even have a working bathroom for their boarders use!  It had rained recently so the pastures were a little wet with water in a few spots but it's Michigan every barn has that.  The indoor arena is beautiful and well lit and there are overhead fans in the main barn.  I met with some of the boarders and the staff and everyone was nice and friendly and very knowledgeable.  I was showed the feed room, there's no moldy hay there and there's Tribute Kalm n Ez feed.  If they do have any openings, I would feel perfectly confident in moving my horse there.  Don't know what the deal is with these other reviews but they kind of sound like disgruntled people who got thrown out to me. read more

I've had my horse here since the current owners' grand opening and wouldn't trust my sweet boy to anyone else. He was here a few years ago when the original owners operated and I had to move him, then moved him back in to Swan Creek when I found out that Chris and Renee were taking over. These two care deeply about the health and happiness of the horses here. They're turned out daily and I'm not sure what the moldy hay issue is that I read on another review? Sometimes that happens (it's happened at pretty much every barn I've ever been at) and they are very careful about tossing them out when everything is inspected for feeding. I feel confident that this hay isn't actually being fed to my horse. I think I would know by now. I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants their horse cared for thoroughly. They're constantly doing additional upkeep (expanding pasture, reinforcing fencing etc) and I genuinely enjoy coming here. read more

This barn is AMAZING! I've been boarding my two horses here over the span of two years and they are so happy. They have a very spacious arena with great footing, 4 big pastures for all of the horses, an outdoor riding arena, and very nice observation room to watch the riders from. I've been to many barns and I can proudly say that this barn is by far my favorite. The owners, Chris and Renee, treat everyone like family and take great care of my poniesThey also offer lessons with a couple of our trainers that have 40+ years of horse/ showing experience. I've been boarding here for almost five years. hands down the best care my horse could have. they always go above and beyond to make sure he's happy. when I first got there he was seriously underweight because of my last boarding facility not holding up to their end of the bargain. the team at swan creek did everything in their power to help me put weight on him and it's paid off. if I couldn't get out to work with him, they've made sure he was taken care of. I cannot say enough good things about this facility. they put the care of your horse above all else and treat everyone like family. read more

My horse was 1 of 12 that has been moved out of this facility! Owners are rude and inconsiderate and are all about saving a dollar over the care of horses. My horse gets worked 5/6 days a week and she was being cut down on grain because owners could not afford it even though board is 390$ a month. I was out there for a few months and seen txt messages from the owners trash talking me, trash talking other people, lying and saying horses were watered at night and moldy hay thrown out to horses without care or concern! This is such a beautiful place and Chris and Renee take such wonderful care of the horses. You can tell they take such pride in what they do and the property and care of the horses. They work non stop to make sure everything is perfect. I'm also excited about the new trainer coming in, she is awesome with the horses. So glad I made the decision to go to Swan Creek. The facilities are beautiful, clean and well kept. The owners are 'hands on' and always available. And now with the new trainer, I am especially pleased. I know my 'baby' is being well cared for at every level!! read more
