Children with Hair Loss - Hair Donation for Children with Hair Loss - July 2025

    Children with Hair Loss

With searching for an organization to donate my hair, I found Children with Hair Loss. They are a…read morenon profit organization "that provides human hair for no cost to children and young adults facing medically related hair loss, such as cancer, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns and more". The minimum requirement for Children with Hair Loss is only 8 inches, but they prefer 10 inches or longer. The requirements for this charity was something I was able to give, and they also help a cause that I believe in. I had to do some research before I cut my hair because it would be dumb if I cut that much hair incorrectly. - Donate at least 8 inches or more - Hair must be cleaned, dried and tied in a ponytail or braid - Secure your hair - Colored Hair is acceptable if it is in decent condition. I have natural non chemically treated hair, so no problem on this one - Gray is Okay! I have a few gray hairs and this organization is okay with it. A few organizations have a percentage rule about how much grey hair - Print a Hair Donation Form, and fill it out - Mail Hair in, in a ziplock bag - Get a Certificate as a confirmation They have certified salons and things, but none in my area. I printed and filled out the form and took it to my regular salon. I really like that the form has inches measured on one of the edges of the form so you can use it as a ruler if you don't already have one. My salon actually had a tape measure. Just for the record, I am extremely grateful I took it to a salon. My hair stylist sectioned my hair out professionally since I have layers and they did it that way so we can maximize the donation and minimally take from my length after the donation. I was able to give 11 inches. I placed my hair into the ziplock bags and mailed it out early the next day. I made a small donation with my hair and got an email confirmation shortly. Then soon after I received a Certificate of Appreciation and a #CutPassLove T-Shirt. Hopefully my review can reach those who are ready to get a haircut or would like to make a donation to help these poor kids get a free wig. Calling all of those who have not gotten a haircut since before the pandemic, if you can spare 8 or more inches, this is a great cause!!

Prior to those 3-4 yrs, I've donated to Pantene and Locks of Love! It is hard, if someone doesn't plan the hair growing and cutting just right. This time around I ended up cutting the 8" off in late July, one month later than I'd anticipated, because of summer weather, plans and trips. But, thankfully it still worked out! Anyhow, I really just wanted to write a positive review for a nonprofit that is doing good things, for others and really showing that they care, by what they do! Thank you, CWHL_Org!

Much of the food is donated by local stores or restaurants. They get a ton of stuff into their warehouse. They always go through the daily protocol in the big conference room. You are to wear gloves and a hair cover and beard cover for those with facial hairs. Now you can add a face mask to the attire too. You start the event work around 9am and work until 11am to noon. The warehouse job is the hardest. I have sorted through some rough looking potatoes, to water logged and decrepit looking cucumbers and tomatoes. It makes you really appreciate the foods we can easily pick through at the grocery store to get the most appealing ones. Any sign of mold gets tossed. This is the hardest of the jobs, but also the most rewarding since it's labor intensive too. I have also had the pleasure of assembling sandwiches in the kitchen too, with wheat squares of bread, some meat like slices of pork meat of some sort and cheese too. Volunteering your time and energy is greatly rewarding and so helpful to those in need. This is a great center that gives back ro the community. At the end of your day, they will brief you on how many bags or boxes of food were boxed that day. It's the only day big the original big 3 OEMs groups can collaborate and work together side by side without any intellectual property issues too.

Many items have the original tags still on. They also have great purses, accessories, shoes, and home goods (though the layout for home goods can make you dizzy as it's a lot of four-sided shelving units and you kind of have to spin around in circles to see all sides for a while, lol) This location is also very well organized and clean making for a much more pleasant thrifting experience. They do have fitting rooms so you will be able to try things on before you buy AND the curtains on the rooms are large enough to provide privacy without worry, There's nothing worse that trying on clothes in a store with tiny curtains where you could end up giving a free peep show at the slightest breeze. -Bring a bag, they have a small amount of boxes available sometimes, but do not have bags at all anymore -This location can be a bit more pricey than other locations so watch carefully for the occasional original price tag to make sure you're actually getting a deal and try to focus on half price tag colors (daily color is posted at the door each day)
