I found this company online when I needed some labor services to assist with a truckload of medical items delivering in Greenville, SC. I was highly impressed with their professionalism and communication. The day prior to our job, I was contacted by Sophia to confirm everything. After running into a delay with our driver, they were very accommodating in adjusting the arrival time of their crew. We went with Swamp Rabbit due to good reviews and had a complete different experience. We moved from a 1200 sq ft two bedroom apartment in downtown GVL to a 1100 sq ft apartment 3 blocks away. We had all of our boxes packed and moved into the living area of our old apartment for easy moving. My husband called and had our moving date changed from 8/10 to 8/8 and it was confirmed. Day before SRM called to confirm our move for 8/10. I will say they worked to get this corrected. 3 movers show up without tools, it takes them almost 7 HOURS to move our little apartment to an even smaller apartment. They didn't break down ANY of our beds so my husband had to do it. NEVER HAD MOVERS NOT TAKE apart beds for moving. We were quoted 4 hrs (which we all know is never accurate because how else can they make $, right?) and it almost doubled. DOUBLED! Last movers we used moved us out of a 4200 sq ft home and to an apartment 20 mins away in 6 hrs. What was even going on?!? The three of them would pick up one or two items and be gone for a while. Take a phone call. Walk around looking at the items. Least to say we spent an additional 2 hrs yesterday moving remaining items because we had to tell them we needed them off the clock. Avoid Swamp Rabbit Moving Company at all costs. This was, without exaggeration, one of the most stressful and expensive experiences of our lives--and entirely due to Swamp Rabbit Moving Company's incompetence and dishonesty. They never sent anyone to our home to assess the size of the move or the items (even though the move crew later told us that they always send someone out to quote homes with basements). Unsurprisingly, the job was severely under-quoted, and we were hit with substantial, unexpected additional costs once it was too late to do anything about it. They were completely unequipped to handle a move of this size, and it showed. When our belongings were finally delivered after several months in storage, opening the trucks was shocking. Items looked as though they had been thrown in haphazardly, with no care or protection. Furniture was damaged, items were broken, and many things were outright ruined. To make matters worse, the delivery crew immediately began blaming the original crew and offering excuse after excuse instead of taking responsibility. We also discovered that the original crew had falsified documents claiming many of our items were already damaged--documents we were never shown, never agreed to, and never signed. That alone should be a massive red flag for anyone considering this company. Another note about our final delivery crew- they did not show up within the time frame they had given us. I finally called to track them down and they told me they were still having breakfast and would be there in a while. When they showed up, they did not have any water/drinks with them at all! It was the middle of August in the south!! They were expecting us to provide that for them, but we had not even moved in to our house yet, so why would they expect us to have groceries?? Luckily I did have a few waters there, but then I had to call my parents to bring us more. They delivered so many things to the wrong rooms. I spent days/weeks moving things to the correct places and couldn't find things I needed for way too long. For example, they put a box of makeup in the workshop side of our garage. I didn't find it until over 2 months later!! They also asked for a tip multiple times at the end of the move. We were so upset about the amount of items ruined in this move, which they again, just blamed the previous crew or argued that it had to be already damaged before they moved it, and then expected to be rewarded. We submitted over 80 damaged items, many of them completely destroyed. Rather than taking accountability, Swamp Rabbit Moving has made the claims process as burdensome as possible. They require multiple photos per item, and if they might approve the claim, they then expect receipts for household items before reimbursing us. Who keeps receipts for everything in their home? This is an unreasonable and unrealistic demand designed to discourage legitimate claims. We have spent weeks of our own time documenting damage, chasing paperwork, and jumping through hoops--all while trying to unpack, move in, and recover from the chaos they created. The company has placed every ounce of responsibility on us, despite the fact that we paid them specifically to ensure our belongings arrived in the same condition they left. If your belongings, your time, or your sanity matters to you, do not trust them to Swamp Rabbit Moving Company. A moving company's most basic obligation is to safely transport your items. When that fails--and the company then dodges responsibility--you're left asking: what exactly did we pay for? Just obtained a quote from them and it was over $3,000 for a 1,500 sf house and not all that much furniture or boxes. THAT IS INSANE!!

I selected Swamp Rabbit Moving because of their excellent reviews and was willing to pay their premium prices. Having just restored our home after a fire, we didn't want to risk inexperienced movers handling our belongings or damaging our newly renovated home. While about 80% of our move went smoothly, several significant issues occurred that I cannot overlook: - A mover placed a heavy laundry basket directly on top of my expensive LG monitor, causing a deep screen scratch - Crew members pushed heavy boxes across our new hardwood floors instead of lifting them, causing visible scratches - They packed all our shoes together in a single box regardless of cleanliness, including $200+ motorcycle boots with dirty running shoes - Our aloe plant was killed by wrapping it too tightly during packing - Our Le Creuset cast iron pot was cracked after being placed at the bottom of a box with insufficient protection and other heavy cookware stacked on top - During unpacking, clothes were not organized as requested despite specific instructions - They forgot the TV stand during the move, requiring an additional trip to retrieve it - One mover wore heavy cologne which was quite overwhelming in our enclosed space When the monitor damage occurred, the lead mover immediately called his manager and promised they would "take care of it." However, when I filed a claim, they denied responsibility for the monitor, shoes, and plant damage. After several back-and-forth emails, they agreed to cover only some items, but pressured me to sign an extremely restrictive contract that would prevent me from sharing my honest experience. When I refused, they reduced their offer to just the floor repair and $0.60 per pound for the damaged items and - nowhere near the replacement cost. I even contacted the owner, Chris, hoping for better resolution. Instead, he gave me a 24-hour ultimatum to accept their terms or lose the offer entirely. Throughout this process, it became clear they were more concerned with protecting their reputation than making things right. For a premium-priced moving service, I expected much better training, care with our belongings, and a fair resolution process when things went wrong. We had an unsatisfactory experience with Swamp Rabbit Movers over this last weekend, November 26, 2021. Originally, I called three separate moving companies to receive quotes and we selected Swamp Rabbit due to having the lowest prices. We even changed our moving day to a day when Swamp Rabbit Movers was available in order to use them for this service. My first call, I was given a price of $170/hour. I called to book the movers and the price all of a sudden adjusted to $180/hour since it was on a weekend. It was clear in our initial phone call that the move would be taking place on a weekend, but I was given an incorrect price. Additionally, there was a heavy-item fee added and a travel fee added that were not included in the initial inquiry. However, we went ahead and booked with Swamp Rabbit due to a good reference from a friend. I received an estimate in my email with the $180/hour price. Our move went smoothly and all of our furniture was moved very carefully. The men worked hard, but the 7 hours that were estimated turned into 11 hours, which increased the price significantly. The foreman had me sign the final invoice, and he verbalized that I had a rate of $180/hour. I did not take the time to look over the invoice thoroughly as I had reviewed everything via the emailed estimate that I received the previous week. I received a final invoice in my email the first business day following our move. The breakdown of price indicated $210/hour for 11 hours. I immediately emailed back and then called and left a voicemail a few hours later. The owner returned my call within a few hours and apologized. He knew that she had made a mistake and told me that he went back into the original estimate to change the price without notifying me as the customer. He continued to assure me that the salesperson I spoke with was no longer working at Swamp Rabbit and he offered to split the difference of the mistake that she made by refunding me $165. He vocalized that he thought this would be fair. I disagreed and said that it would only be fair if we were given the price that we were originally quoted. Smoothest, most efficient and most professional move I ever had. The team operated like a well-oiled machine. All furniture was neatly wrapped and secured. And, not to under the easiest moving conditions in a mill loft with only 2 elevators, unloading part in a storage unit and part in a home with upstairs living area. At the mill, which can be a nightmare for movers, the crew was professional and courteous to all residents as they maneuvered the traffic flow in the elevators.
