I went to SW Motorcycle Safety for their "Get Riding" permit level class with my partner. It was a great experience and even though it was winter time and raining the staff were excellent and friendly. They're extremely knowledgeable, understanding, and super open to questions. The rental bikes are all newer model and seemed to function well. They go through everything that is on the tests first so everyone knows they are capable of passing and has improved any skills that needed improvement. We both passed, my partner had essentially 0 motorcycle experience. Later I went back for their "Street Strategies" endorsement level class which was also a great, challenging, and fun experience. In both classes they teach far beyond the testing requirements and teach essential skills and knowledge. By the end you'll know how to ride with confidence, what to practice, what gear to buy, and have an idea of what kind of bikes to look at.
If there is one downside to them it's that the practice lot is fairly worn, there's some gravel and slippery spots. That said, it's the PNW and beggars can't be choosers. Word on the street is that it's one of the better lots of the WA motorcycle schools.
Overall, highly recommend. It's a great experience whether you've got some or no riding experience. And for $200 if their class helps you avoid just 1 crash, it pays for itself about a million times over. read more
