Great instructors. Great program. Very positive experience. I have already enrolled in another class with them.

Ok parents read up. While DMV drive test is $45, Pacific will charge you $85 (2025) for your…read moreconvenience. It is convenience and sounds smart to expense to avoid DMV. Make sure you can't be sick and reschedule. Your urgency is their business. Anyway if you are ok with their price and if you pass the test, it's worth it. Otherwise let's talk money, you pay $85 again. Your luck, their call. Tips- the girl at the counter is very nice and friendly. When you pay to schedule, ask her for test evaluation sheet so you have a clue what your kid will be doing. They will not offer that info automatically (almost like because they kinda want you to fail and pay another $85 to reschedule). I asked so she kindly explained the rule that you can fail "minors" up to 8 points and still pass. But "major" faults is a 1 time thing-- such as red light, stop sign violations, or anything that makes the examiner step on brake (yes they have brake on passenger side!) it will cause you exit the test right away. Another thing you should know, unlike at DMV you do not get to drive your car that you are familiar with. They only have Kia and it's gas. If you are used to EV pedals make sure you borrow grandpa's gas car for a day. I minus one star for just that. On the day you might have 2 examiners, one new and one supervisor in the back. The exam is quick like 20 minutes around town. Mostly about intersections, change lanes, using signals. No highway (disappointed). No parallel parking (very disappointed). Please please teach your kids to be proficient in parking for their own sake. After all it's NOT hard to pass. If your kid has been driving with you daily for at least a year, you shouldn't be worried at all. $85 is good investment and worth not to deal with DMV attitudes.

Loree, the owner of this driving "academy", is in desperate need of training relevant to business…read moreethics, among other things. She is unpleasant in general, questionable in her role as an "instructor", and unapologetic as well as unaccountable. After an incident in her class where my high school daughter and I were specifically singled out for harassment, Loree determined that my intention to reach out directly to ODOT was a "threat", and expelled my daughter (who had participated respectfully and had never missed a single class session or driving lesson) from her program. A legal challenge had to be made, and a complaint to ODOT filed. If you prefer to interact with a driving school that is ethical, with a strong customer service orientation and an eye towards treating students fairly above all, this is not the right driving "academy" for your family.

Unfortunately disappointing; while it did take Loreen (the owner) several days to pick up the…read morephone, that is not the most disappointing part of this review. While she may be an adequate "driving instructor," I don't believe that Loreen is necessarily at her best when she interacts with people. Especially when it involves taking accountability and apologizing. Loreen and I spoke on the telephone twice, for a length of time before coordinating dates/times that would best suit my daughters schedule and hers. After verbally discussing pricing and scheduling, a PayPal invoice was delivered to my email address. 1. The invoice was incorrect. When I telephoned Loreen, I asked her to please send a corrected invoice. She immediately countered with, "No, I didn't make an error. That is how much the driving lesson cost." Needless to say, the invoice was again emailed with the correct pricing. So YES, she did make an error and NO, she did not apologize. 2. An email with dates for the scheduled driving driving dates/times was to be emailed to my daughter. (I had placed them in my calendar as well). It was not emailed, even after calling twice to remind her. 3. Yesterday was suppose to be my daughters first driving lesson. At 10 minutes past the hour, no driving instructor had arrived. I telephoned Loreen, she said that she had no recollection of us speaking and that she certainly would not have scheduled driving instruction without payment. I DID pay, the same day that the invoice arrived, via PayPal. Which she discovered after looking at her payments. Her tone with me was condescending and rude. To finish out an otherwise long review; I understand that we all make mistakes. That life can be stressful and overwhelming. That being said, it would have been professional and humanly kind, for Loreen to apologize and make an attempt to remedy her error. Instead she has overbooked with other clients. After a couple telephone conversations, she is refunding me in cash today (I don't trust her to actually send a refund otherwise). People, integrity and kindness go a long way in this world. You will be pleasantly surprised how people lean into you, and are inspired by your light. Pay it forward here and there, and be kind. Take ownership if you have made a mistake and do your very best to remedy it. :-)

I had a deeply frustrating experience with advising and administrative handling at Portland State…read moreUniversity that resulted in serious academic and financial consequences. I clearly requested to enroll in online-only courses and to begin classes on time. However, I was not informed that classes had already started and was advised into at least one in-person course that directly conflicted with my stated needs. As a result of this situation, I lost my scholarship, received failing grades on my transcript for classes I should not have been enrolled in under those conditions, and was placed into healthcare-related enrollment that I did not want or intend to sign up for. When I raised these concerns, the response I received was that advising was "consistent with policy," without addressing the actual outcome or the discrepancy between what I requested and what occurred. I am now being held financially responsible for these charges, with the possibility of them being sent to collections, despite the fact that this situation stemmed from advising that did not align with my clearly stated requirements. From a student perspective, the issue is not whether internal procedures were followed--it is whether the guidance provided leads to accurate enrollment and protects students from avoidable harm. In my case, it did not. I strongly encourage prospective students to independently verify all advising information, especially regarding course format, enrollment timing, and associated obligations, to avoid experiencing similar outcomes.

I would like to start off by saying.....if I could give this business a higher star rating, I…read morewould! I highly recommend 1st Learn to Drive for any teen who is learning to drive. The instructors are patient, professional, and truly dedicated to helping new drivers feel safe and confident on the road. They take the time to explain not just the rules of the road, but also priactical tips for real-world situations. Scheduling lessons was always easy, and the staff was always friendly and accommodating. The owner, Mike, really cares about the new teen driver. He even takes time out on evenings or weekends to answer my text messages. The online zoom classroom was amazing as well as the instructor teaching it! I think his name was Christian. It was twice a week and very well organized class setting. The zoom class provided a strong foundation of knowledge. My teen felt comfortable right away, and I noticed a big improvement in his driving skills. Thanks to 1st Learn to Drive, my teen passed the driving test on the first try! If you're looking for driving school that balances professionalism with a supportive learing environment, 1st Learn to Drive is an excellent choice. Thank you, Kim Ellingson

Please do not take this course…read more My online instructor, Benji, was totally fine. Same with my first driving instructor who was some sort of "substitute" I believe. But when I finally got my first experience with my actual instructor, who I believe the name of was Derrick, I was disgusted. He would have his phone out, looking at it with an earbud in, WHILE WE WERE DRIVING. This was completely unprofessional. You want to know what else was unprofessional? When he reached into my friends' pocket to take his phone out to turn off his alarm. He was also extremely rude to us and made us do many more small things that were not necessary. His way of teaching was terrible and completely unhelpful. And he also hated belts or something because every time he stood up his pants would fall almost all the way down. Which is probably why he put a mat under where he sat, that was absolutely disgusting and would shake it out. He shouted at my friend for no reason, he was terrible. I could go on. But you know what else? My friend's parents and mine both called the owner, Mike, to complain about this TWICE. And after Mike said he would give us a new instructor, me and my friend arrived the next day to find that untrue. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I was extremely anxious and in danger of crashing when driving with him, and temporarily had driving PTSD after my lessons. This man should be fired.
