Had a really great experience at Southgate SVS, the eye exam was great, and the doctor and staff explained really well the options of trying progressive bifocals for the first time. The staff was really friendly and helpful, they helped me choose frames that fit my face and were comfortable and would work well with the progressive bifocals. This was the first time at Southgate SVS, I really felt like the staff genuinely wanted to help me find frames and lenses that worked for me, not just to sell the high priced frames like other places I've been. My daughter also had a really good experience here last month with new glasses and my husband is going next week, I would definitely recommend! read more

My 9 year old daughter had her very first eye exam with Dr. Maus this afternoon. The way that Dr. Maus spoke to my daughter was excellent. She spoke to her like a person, not a child, with words she could comprehend herself. My daughter's exam came back with a very low script. Rather than trying to up sell us and spend unnecessary money, she was very upfront and honest. I'm a very hard person to please when it comes to customer service and health care, especially when it comes to my kids. I couldn't be happier with our experience with this office and doctor. I just moved here and was looking for a new vision center and Optometrist for contacts and glasses. When I walked in the door, the entire front staff greeted with me smiles and friendly conversation. I was shown the beautiful selection of glasses and was informed of specials that were being offered. It was very easy for them to verity my insurance and gave me the best advice to use the insurance available to me. I called up SVS Southgate after the Allen Park SVS wanted to cancel and reschedule my Appointment that I had scheduled for over a month . I won't go into detail because it has to do with my health history, however, I called up Southgate and they had no problem taking me as a new patient. The women that took care of me were awesome. From the doctor to both Allison and Claire, all were so helpful in selecting frames, looking for the best deal and Allison even managed to repair my current glasses back to their original shape. SVS was very clean and the personnel was absolutely amazing!!!! I went in for an eye exam and both my grandchildren also went in for eye exams and again the staff was amazing with all of us.
