Nothing wrong with any of it, but if you're looking for a traditional hiking trail this one may not be much of a challenge for you. Looks like they are building elevated wooden walkways to get thru the low lying, flood prone and muddy areas.

Five minutes of getting there and into our walk, this dude comes chasing us down on his mower, scared the hell out of us, thought he was going to run us over, jumps off the mower and comes over and yells at me, "You didn't pick up your dogs poop!" Ok for one, my dog hadn't even had time to poop, we had just got there. And even if I hadn't I didn't appreciate the theatrics. I come there with my dog and disabled husband to walk in peace, it's good therapy for my husband who has dementia but this was uncalled for! If they want to really obsess over something, how about all the poop on the walkway and the used condoms I have to constantly step over!

I didn't have a clue what UMC meant, and it was strange that the address brings you to a church. But, it turns out that UMC is short for 'United Methodist Church.' You will see 3 practice holes in the middle of the open field in front of the church. The actual course is to the left if facing the church. The first 2 holes are not shaded, but the ones thereafter are among the trees and well covered. Though there are trees, it wasn't a terribly hard course. Plus, the 9 holes doesn't take that long. With 3 to 4 people, it's about an hour's worth of exercise. With a couple more folks, it's about 1 1/2. It's a great course for beginners! Just watch out for the river on the left of the first hole. I'd recommend not standing on the platform but move towards the pillars.

Lovely paved trails…read more The BLK Hiking Club started their 2024 hiking season at this park. It was my first hike in GA in over a decade. The Hog Mountain entrance has plenty of parking (our group was over 120 people). The bathrooms are adjacent to the parking lot and were clean and stocked. The water was cold but the hand dryers have warm air so your hands will warm right up on cold days. The map by the parking lot and bathrooms shows the routes of various lengths. The trails are paved and easy to navigate with only slight elevations on the 2 mile trail. Our group of over 120 people had plenty of space and room on the trail (walking 2 by 2). Along the trail there are benches and picnic areas. Overall, this is a beautiful, serene hike that is great for groups. I highly recommend it.

Lenora Park has plenty of beautiful green space to spread out blankets for relaxing or reading, paved walking trails, a fishing lake, community garden, softball fields, disc golf course, separate dog parks for large and small dogs, pavilion, grill, playground, restrooms and a 2 court gymnasium for basketball and pickleball. There's also a seasonal pool. I go here often just to enjoy nature and being outdoors weather permitting. I especially enjoy walking in Lenora Park during the Fall season as it's beautiful to see the many trees changing colors. Lenora park is also my go to location for early voting. Lenora Park is about to undergo some major improvements with revitalizing and expanding the gym into a community recreation center that will have a dance studio, art classroom, kitchen and will include an upper-level balcony with a two-way walking track. I'm excited and looking forward to seeing the progress while on my walks in the park.

There's even a horse stable and they have horse races on the weekends. It's beautiful!! Wills Park also offers a great seat for 4th of July Fireworks!! There's free parking at all times. There's also a dog park and a nice covered Pavilion to just sit answers relax in the shade! I'd highly recommend this park if you're in the area.
