I don't have photos with me right now but Sutton's is my favorite bar that also serves food in Fishtown/No Libs. I don't drink much, just solo dining and sometimes eating with friends. I enjoy the themed food nights they host like Pasta Night, Taco Tuesday, and so on as well. The staff has been kind to me whenever I've visited. Came around to check on my drinks often and the chef on Italian night used to come by to make sure we were enjoying food. The cocktails also slap. No complaints. read more

Such a fun artsy dive bar with a great back patio where you can drink and eat with your dog (it's amazing to us, coming from California, how many places with back patios and gardens in Philly are NOT dog-friendly). Service was super friendly, drinks were delicious, and we had the smash burgers and Mac and cheese - highly recommend this place. read more

Drove from our home in Jersey to a great neighborhood bar that I can easily envision being the Cheers of Fishtown if not all of Philadelphia. Serena, the bartender/waitress provided excellent service and even better food recommendations. She was the only person there aside from the owner when we arrived and she played the dual role perfectly. My wife ordered a drink and I ordered a local beer when we first sat down. Both were cold and satisfying on this warm day. Serena recommended the wings with the Carolina sauce as anappetizer. That sauce can easily be bottled and sold! We also got a Caesar salad which hit the spot. Dressing was tasty and not watered down like a lot of Caesars can be. Once again Serena came uo with a winner when she recommended the fish and chips. Fish was perfectly cooked and the batter was crispy but not heavy. I was in the mood for another cocktail by this time so Serena recommended her own creation called the Pear of the Dog. As good as everything was, this was my favorite item of the afternoon. Drink was perfectly balanced, refreshing and the pear taste stood out but was not overwhelming. A perfect summer drink! The owner of this bar came from Ireland and opened Suttons 8 years ago. He was kind enough to show us a book with pictures of the transformation of the bar from an old abandoned building to the homey, cozy establishment it is today. All in all a great afternoon before our visit to the Punch Line to see a show. Next time I'm in Fishtown, Suttons is a must visit no matter what else we have planned. read more

Stopped by while passing thru and lucked up on the HH menu: The JIG is UP ($8) - so good! The sweet Carolina wings smack (1/2 portion $8= 5 wings) but will have you dipping the carrots in the sauce mmmkay. Also espresso Martini is on HH ($8) so YUMMY & you can actually taste the espresso aspect- bitter & not overly sweet. Get the HOT HONEY CHICKEN Sandwich!!! Bartender name was Serena and she was a tolerant but unapologetic vibe if that makes sense? (a lot of times ppl forget their manners once inebriated*=tolerance).but genuine thru and thru. Ask her about HER espresso martini made with tequila - you WILL not be disappointed. I asked about the history of the venue and they literally have a book- go figure. Owner was actively buzzing around and dropping plates and bussin tables- love that. Will absolutely return the next time I'm passing by or returning to the area. I'm obsessed with Suttons. I've even tried to copy the aesthetic for my home. The place is a celebration of industrial Kensington. The atmosphere is often great though it has a reputation for being a little dead. The servers are special. JawnyQ quizzo on Wednesday nights is an go to. They balance great service and great personality incredibly well. The food is always a hit. Their menu has some classic staples that you can never go wrong ordering - the wings are my absolute favorite but many people can't get enough of their burgers. Their rotating specials are always something delicious and worth a try. Stop by to try their newly added Full Irish Breakfast on the weekend. Overall - this place is a 10/10 in terms of atmosphere, coziness, and just the kind of third place you'd be happy to visit whether you're into drinking alcohol or not. Cool spot that wasn't too packed on a Friday night, we snuck in right before happy hour ended where they had $8 single margaritas and $20 pitchers and opted for a mango margarita pitcher which was delicious! The food is ok. Just ok gives a 4 star for me. I wish it was a bit more flavorful. It is there but then it misses. Server was great and attentive. But the WINGS that's what I suggest. Fried hard with sauce on side. Wings and drinks. They have a healthy pour and you will love the combos. I'd return for the WINGS and drinks. Burger was just ok. The fries were tasty. Chill place, seems like a bunch of locals are constants. The tacos needed a bit more flavor. Especially a birria taco. Even dipping it didn't add flavor. Mines are better. I live up the street from this bar and bring people here sometimes. They have a great happy hour and bingo nights on Tuesdays and one night I went and they had a spelling bee lol. The owner will talk to you and all the servers / bartenders are super friendly. I've gotten food from here several times and everything has been really good! I took a picture of my burger but when I go back will get some pictures of other things. I've gotten wings and birria tacos as well, would recommend everything. My wife and I stopped here during happy hour for a drink and a bite. There atmosphere was pleasant, with a happy clientele and friendly bartenders.The beer choices for Happy Hour were very limited and nothing seemed interesting. We each chose a Margarita which had a violet color (pea flower infused). They were tasty and had a nice kick. For food, there were also fairly limited choices. We shared 2 empanadas (1 each of Tinga and Birria), a cucumber, sesame, seaweed salad , and 2 street corns. Everything was very good (not exceptional but very good). There was nothing I wouldn't order again. Overall, we had a fun time here and, when in the area, would consider returning. read more

Great chefs choice for take out! Sutton's is just far enough from Temples campus that I'm sure few students have ventured this way to check it out, but THEY SHOULD! With amazing food and a full bar it's well above what the other campus bars have to offer. Tonight my friends and I went for the Super Bowl. They had free appetizers of buffalo chicken dip, pigs in a blanket, and pastries with savory fillings. I got the blueberry cider, fried chicken sandwich, and Brussels sprouts. My friend got an order of their buffalo wings. Everything was amazing and we will definitely going back! This little gem is hidden amongst the unfinished construction. The decor is pretty cool. Parking is easy. Food is awesome! We got the Brussels sprouts and cauliflower to start. Both super good. Then I got the mushroom salad and my wife picked up the meatloaf. I really liked my salad but upon tasting her I think she won this round. Our friend just graduated from law school (yay) and we wanted to go somewhere in her hood. I came across this place with 5 stars (okay) that had a good amount of vegetarian options for my vegan/vegetarian companions. We decided to order everything off of the happy hour menu. Pretty good experience on my part!! I went with a few friends and some of them didn't enjoy their meals as much as I did and thought it was a little weird but I enjoyed it mostly. It's a cute small bar restaurant. Not a ton of seats but was super nice and chill in there! The waitress was very nice and accommodating. I got the school teacher cocktail and I HIGHLY recommend. Super light and delicious. We got the chips and guacamole- the chips were VERY salty and the guacamole was very "lemony". The fried pickles were good though! I did not try the Brussel sprouts but I heard from my friends that they weren't amazing. The falafel was always a bit odd but still was pretty good. The BYO burger was KILLER. 100% you need to get that If you are in the burger, which I always am. Amazing blend of meats and great fries to boot! read more
