Great product and selection for a smaller hardware/garden store. All employees were super helpful and friendly with the exception of the gal working in the garden shop. Wasn't able to answer one question she asked as she told us to go inside and ask at the counter. We didn't let this gal ruin our shopping experience as everyone else was fantastic, especially the red haired gal that working at the registers/service center. We bought several furnature items, pavers and plants and were assisted in loading by two young men who were fantastic. Will definitely shop here when we make our way in from Tucumcari to Amarillo in the future read more

I am a frequent garden shopper at Sutherlands, so have previous experience to offer perspective. Monday I arrived early and found the garden section incredibly clean and organized, well above their usual standards. Floors swept clean, products were logically arranged, and plants were pleasingly displayed. It made my shopping experience easy and a joy. read more

Went into buy vegetable plants and flowers for several garden projects. Plants looked bad, garden area looked dirty and in disarray. Trash cans full of trash and two male employees sitting down doing absolutely nothing while talking to an older female coworker. Asked about Veterans discount, showed an ID and the clerk blew it off. First time customer. This store is clearly mismanaged. read more

I came to Sutherlands instead of Home Depot because they always have what I need and they are close to my house. Came to buy some plants and the lady that was running the greenhouse/gardening area kicked me out saying they closed at 4pm. I've been in management for 10 years and i know all about customer service. This was not the hospitality that should have been bestowed on people paying for a service. This was very upsetting and I will not be back. read more

I went to this place expecting a pleasant experience. Had never been before and wanted to give it a chance. Ample parking when you pull in, which is nice. From outside it looked like a good working business. I step inside, and no one made any effort to greet me or ask if I needed any help. Already that was a little discouraging. There was no sense of what was where in the store (no big signage), so I figured I will just have to walk the whole length of the store. Figure it out myself. Still no one offered to help me. I did need to use the restroom, and had to track someone down to find out where it was located. The lady I asked seemed like I was bothering her, rather than just trying to get a simple question answered. Again, discouraging. But not awful. Their aisles are congested and tiny. Hard to find much of anything in there. I passed a few employees and not one of them ever acknowledged me. Not very impressed with this place. No concept of customer service. The employees just looked bored and unable to help. I would save yourself the trip and go somewhere else. Even the people at Gebos are more attentive! read more

Carly (team leader or floor supervisor in home/garden)...beyond disrespectful and rude. She was unhelpful and condescending...my only question was do you know if ant killer your store is advertising will be replaced. I'm stunned that she is permitted to speak with customers this way. I attempted to speak with additional staff in the same dept., who deflected my concerns and stated he didn't know Carly. Wow....Clearly no point in seeking help from additional higher personal...it is just how this organization works. It's kinda sad. read more

Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for home improvement needs. When you need help it cannot be found. When you do finally get the help you need, the employee is usually clueless and has little to no knowledge. The checkers at the front lack personality or common courtesy for that matter. Due to its location it gets a lot of business that it doesn't deserve, and there are plenty of other places in Amarillo that can help you. read more
