Lots of things to get, more than 40 aisles in this store filled with lots of workshop items, house items, furniture, and MORE! Every time I come here, the workers really help us out here, and very welcoming! The worker over the checkout, help us out with an issue, everything worked out great! Came to get some gloves, cleaning supplies, and ac filter. Worker AJ came to help us with the AC filter, when they didn't have the one for us, he recommended to order it on the app so we can get the size we need! Worker Terry helped us with looking for the items, an expert, tell her an item, exactly knows where it is! And it's worth the drive…read more There are several smaller nurseries in the area, and the big-box home improvement stores carry plants, and Al Cook beats them all. It has a large layout with a large selection. I noted several prospective shrubberies and researched them, and all of them will do well in the Piney Woods area with its frequent rain and hot weather. Which tells me that Al Cook would not sell a plant if it wouldn't do well here, whether it's flowers, bushes, or trees. Prices are in line with other nurseries and a little higher than the big boxes, but Al Cook doesn't benefit from bulk wholesale like the big boxes do. The man who helped me out was indeed helpful, including helping put the many shrubberies I bought into my SUV, and quite chatty. He even gave me a tip about a new barbecue joint near Bevil Oaks, and mentioned Beaumont's most loved BBQ place (as a newer resident who loves his meat, this information comes in handy).
