Complimentary Dessert ( sweet melon)

This place is 5-8 minutes away from UC Santa Barbara. We came here to check out the school when we found this place. The Food was so good and served fast and hot. They have cozy and beautiful ambiance. The staffs are all friendly and even they gave us complimentary sweet water melons... We definitely will come back here and highly recommended !

Spicy Sesame Chicken Plate

I tried new menu! Sooo gooooodd!! It's not that spicy but savory and sweet I loved it!

Dragon roll (top left), Alaska Roll (bottom), Spicy Baked Salmon Roll (top right)

This is my FAVORITE sushi restaurant and I am a picky eater but Sushiya is the BEST. Ive been here so many times and I promise you the quality is better than any expensive nice ambience sushi restaurant in downtown SB and all inexpensive ones combined. Sushiya is the best and the workers are always so kind and always smiling. I love visiting sushiya for my sushi fix, the quality is consistent and it hits every time. I always get their dragon roll, Alaska roll, and spicy baked salmon roll, all so delicious I can never decide my favorite. The rolls are BIG, portions are generous and it comes with free miso soup which is really yummy too! Thank you Sushiya for the amazing food, kind service, and good vibes.

Amazing Special Rolls

Stopped in for lunch with my coworker. The family service is wonderful. What a great example of a family bringing great food to the community. I we ordered the Hawaiian, Dragon, and two other rolls at their recommendation. So fresh, great food. Will be back very soon for more!

Surprised to find this restaurant in Isla Vista, an area of mostly college students. I dined at this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon while visiting my daughter at UCSB. She and her bf wanted sushi for lunch but we were short on time and a trip to Santa Barbara would not have worked. At their suggestion, we ate here. I wasn't expecting much since it was located right next to the school and the word "Express" is in the name. Fortunately, our experience exceeded my expectations. They've dined there before so they knew what to expect thus the recommendation. Here's what I experienced. *A small to medium sized "order at the counter" sushi restaurant with Japanese decor. *Indoor and outdoor (communal) seating. *A small parking lot with easy parking since most walk or bike there. *Street and city lot parking readily available. *Good amount of options on the menu. *Pricing comparable to more traditional sushi establishments. *Friendly service at the counter and table. They bring the food to the table. *Tasty food and decent portions. *Fast service. *Functional restroom with key. We ordered 2 veggie rolls, a rainbow roll, a dragon roll, a spider roll, edamame and unagi sushi. Our meal came with miso soup. The rainbow and dragon rolls looked very similar to each other and appeared to resemble the shrimp tempura rolls over what we ordered. But they were good so we had no complaints. Our taste buds were happy and our bellies were full. I loved the convenience. I will definitely be back!

Bulgogi

Recently went back to try their Korean food! When others said the Korean food at Sushiya is good, they weren't wrong. This bulgogi is textbook for taste and texture and is overall a good dish. However, $23 for this dish is incredibly overpriced considering how easy it is to cook at home and similar dishes in other high cost of living areas. Their miso soup was also barely warm.

The korean food is very good and authentic, the portions are large and the sushi is fresh. The rolls and very large and will get you full. Service is fast and easy.

Delivery in excellent quality

The foods were delicious. Especially I like the fact that there were both Japanese and Korean foods together in a bargain price and solid quality. I recommend Army Stew and Yellowtail Lovers; those are good. Owners and staffs were nice and kind as well :)

I went in today based on the menu that was posted but there's new owners and everything is way more expensive now. $10 for miso? No thanks.

Not much was open which is how we ended up here. The place was super hot so we decided to order our food to go and there was a super annoying drunk guy ahead of us in line. I felt bad for the 17 yo employee stuck interacting with them. We ordered a sandwich with shrimp in it. L said it was good but the title shouldn't mention shrimp as they were super teeny tiny and basically non existent. I got the gluten free fried rice bowl with chicken spicy. It was not spicy at all, and the chicken was a bit dry, however I could taste the flavor of the chicken and the meal was bland enough that I knew I would be okay. Earlier in the day before the bowl we went to a winery and I had a headache, so this food for me last night worked especially since we picked it up to go and had it at our Air BnB.

The front of house person knew I was there and still no word. The cooks back there looked super lazy and not even a hello. Me and Another customer were just looking at each other. We both walked out- the front of house or customer rep didn't look bothered. Owner : hire someone who has basic customer service skills. It's not that hard or do self check out. We might prefer AI. Horrible wasted time on my break going to a lousy place

Where do I begin? This place deserves a gold medal in the local hidden gem Olympics…read more This fine afternoon, I took myself on a pho date, and went here because this place had vegetarian options, unlike 2 other Vietnamese spots in Goleta. The service is on top of it and attentive. They are so kind, efficient, and awesome. But the food basically sent me to another plane of existence. I got the fried tofu spring rolls, which were phenomenal. They were a little flimsy to start, but what spring roll isn't? The tofu in it was NOT stingy... thick tofu blocks that are somehow so tender for fried tofu SO GOOD. The sauce that came with it was fantastic. The rolls were overall so refreshing and a perfect appetizer. And I got the fried tofu pho as well. When I say it was perfect, I mean PERFECT. Although it could do with a little veggies added, it was fine without them because the giant amount of noodles stuffed me anyways. Again, the tofu was PERFECT. If you are hungry in the Goleta area, give this place a try. I will be coming back.

Their rare steak pho was absolutely delicious and savory. The noodles were springy and absorbed the broth perfectly! I had their fried rice and was blown away by it having shrimp and chicken!
