I just paid 21us for this 3 rolls..The prices are extremely high for what you receive. The sushi rolls were much smaller than expected, and the portions overall did not justify the cost. For the amount charged, I expected much better value and more generous servings. Unfortunately, I left feeling that the meal was overpriced. Recently opened sushi spot. Indoors has very upscale decor. Very clean establishment with friendly service. Its located in a small plaza across the street from train station. Had dinner at the chefs counter and watched while sushi was prepared in front of us. Everything was tasty and chef friendly. It was more than enough food and left pretty full (not always the case at sushi spots in the city). The price is reasonable for the amount of sushi you get. They also have an omakase option, but you dont need to order that to sit at the counter. They are also open for lunch with some plenty of lunch specials, might give that a try next time. read more

Disappointing. Sushi Ume has been on our list to try for quite some time after hearing - and reading - rave reviews. Service was very friendly and attentive. We sat at a table near the sushi bar - we were 4 people but seated at a table for 6. We all ordered the Omakase - the oyster with ikura and the steamed egg with crab and shiitakes were both delicious. We were excited! We were then served 3 rounds of 4 pieces of sushi per plate. The pieces were all cut a bit large, making it awkward to eat in 1 bite. None of the pieces were truly standouts. Many were good, some were ok, but none were amazing. How doesn't this place have 4 stars??? I went in order a steak hibachi dinner ($28), ate 2 pieces of this extremely over cooked steak that was like rubber and could not eat anymore. The best sushi I've had in Westchester County. I was really impressed by the chirashi, which was not only beautifully presented but also generous in portion and variety and fresh to boot! Felt like a tier above most places I've been in the area. My husband had two rolls which he also very much enjoyed. Kid friendly, with a sushi counter for omakase, spacious, and plenty of options for non sushi eaters. The sushi chef is formerly of Yoshino NYC, which Pete Wells gave 4 out of 4 stars. I frequently order from this place through uber eats, today was the first time that I stepped foot in the restaurant to pick my order. The chef Chris was the only staff on the floor. I informed him that I am picking up my order. After waiting for a while I noticed that my sushi was on the counter. I asked if it's possible for him to just give me my food since it's already payed for through uber eats, I even showed him the uber eats confirmation. As soon as I said that he slams the knife down and kicks and slams the doors. The hostess Lisa finally comes. Chris continues to give me an attitude and looks at me in a menacing and threatening manner while cutting the sushi meat. Chris is extremely unprofessional and has anger issues. Pleasantly surprised by their omakase. Came here for Christmas eve and had the smaller omakase sushi which was a very good value considering its offerings. Worst takeout experience I've ever had. Ordered 4 rolls at 6:00 for 6:30 pickup that I prepaid online. Once I arrived, I was told by the one and only waiter at the restaurant that the order would take another 10 mins. After waiting 20 minutes, I could tell the one sushi person was overwhelmed with orders so I said I would come back in a little while. When I returned, I was informed my order was cancelled because I didn't come back quick enough even though the order was fully paid in advance. I should have asked for a refund but was too hungry to argue so waited another 15 mins to get my food. All told, it took two hours for 4 rolls and they didn't even include wasabi or ginger with the sushi. They get 1 star for the food. ZERO stars for takeout. This establishment is very short staffed and not equipped to professionally handle a full service restaurant and takeout. read more

The drinks menu was straight up DELUSIONAL. A 3 oz pour of J. Lohr Chardonnay was $9....the next cheapest option was $30-$60 PER GLASS. I asked her to confirm that those were correct because they are completely unreasonable for what is being served. Owners should check the bar prices, offerings, and serving size of neighboring places and have a reality check. Awful sushi! Despite the waitress assuring us that the fish is delivered fresh daily, my husband was served a chewy, slimy, disaster. Clearly she was mistaken, or very, very confused.
