Fresh sushi. Average prices. The place is tiny. Rolls on the smaller side, I would come here again.

Wonderful friendly Japanese staff and the sushi chefs make delicious sushi and salmon carpaccio!…read moreThe miso soup and edamame is so perfect too! We had the salmon avocado roll and the spider roll and it was delicious! Great view of the famous Bondi Beach across the street! We love it here and can't wait to come back for dinner!!! Yummy! Finally an authentic Japanese food restaurant in Bondi Beach! I will visit this restaurant every time we come back to Sydney!

Obviously the proximity to Bondi Beach could mean touristy, expensive food, but Soy is so much…read morebetter than that. Even though the restaurant sign is also kinda cheesy, don't let hat steer you away! The decor in Soy says something completely different than the sign. Its elegant and cool. It's also really tiny--only about 14 or so tables of twos or fours, but there is big flavor here. We had eggplant degaku and two rolls and it was a comfortable amount of food for two. The spicy tuna roll is awesome. I'm used to a roll with tuna that's more like a paste mixed with the spicy sauce. Here, it was pieces of raw tuna inside the roll, topped with avocado on the rice, and the spice was the sauce on the very top. It was different and my favorite roll we had. Can't beat the setting either--it's right on the beach and offers a cool breeze through the restaurant in the evenings. Definitely worth a try. Enjoy!
