We were hanging out at Bondi Beach and started to get hungry. We decided to jump on our google maps app to see what's around us and came across FishBowl. This eatery is a Japanese inspired salad bar. HUGE portions, I am so happy we shared because there is no way I could have finished this by myself. We ordered the MR.X ($10) size regular. This bowl is loaded with chicken, kale, cabbage, carrots, shallots, sesame shoyu dressing, crispy shallots and wasabi peas.

I went there for lunch. The food was really good especially if you like healthy food this might be the right choices. I ordered the O.G. order just the regular one, because the large one is too much except if you can eat a lot! CONCLUSION = RECOMMENDED!!

Guy on phone was aggressive and wiped his nose with his gloves (didn't change them).

There's something wrong with this Fishbowl. Love them everywhere else except this location. Feels like there's no quality control with the food, and no managerial presence. We were served by a highly aggressive worker who seemed like he was one moment away from wanting to fight us?! Secondly, we saw him wiping his nose and not changing his gloves after doing so. Maybe not the best idea during covid, and in an area where you can be seen by guests.... Where's the manager? Where's the Covid policy to keep customers safe?

Tuna madness in a bowl!!! Be sure to get half cabbage half noodles!!!

Cilantro is called coriander. Apparently I'm the first person the dude ever heard someone say that. The staff there were quite helpful and cheery! I ordered Half cabbage half noodles Tuna as my protein Carrots, masago, fried shallots, seaweed salad, ginger, avo He recommended the spicy shoyo. I'm glad I took his recommendation. Everything in the bowl balances out so well.

OG Bowl (sub Tuna)

Doesn't disappoint. I got the OG bowl but swapped the salmon for tuna & drizzled some spicy shoyu on top. Great flavor & texture - though it's nothing like Hawaiian poke. Only giving 4 stars because there was very little fish actually in my fishbowl.

EVERYTHING WILL BE pOKe

The fish is fresh but I've had way better poke bowls with way better service at a significantly lower price for more food. The cabbage base creates a pool of water mixed with the sauces at the bottom of your bowl. The wasabi mayo dressing overpowers every other ingredient in the bowl. A very small bowl with half a small scoop of fish cost about $15 au.

The OG

Ordered the OG. Was a healthy portion size that delivered on taste. The seaweed salad kept things light. Would revisit

Pretty good poke bowl spot. Right by the beach. Super convenient. I didn't know what half the toppings were called because Australians call them something different. I wanted more toppings then allowed. I've had better poke bowls. But it's quick and convenient

Make your own: brown rice, salmon, edamame, cucumber, pink radish, coriander, sesame sauce and shallot

A little hidden, but wow what a great place for a poke bowl! The shop is tiny, but don't let that put you off. I did the create your own bowl with brown rice, salmon, cucumber, edamame, pink radish, coriander, sesame sauce, and crunchy shallots. They mixed up all the toppings and salmon which was great. The bowl was amazing! I enjoyed every bite. The salmon was cut up perfectly in squares and not too fishy. The sesame sauce really brought everything together. The fresh crunchy toppings were a nice addition. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back! A perfect meal before or after hitting Bondi Beach.

Really good Poke with generous portions. The location is great right across from the beach.

Very fresh perfectly located on Bondi beach. You can eat on site or simply take it to go and enjoy a picnic by the beach.

It's not just a creative name folks, I truly believe this is Bondi's best seafood. And apparently…read moreso does the rest of the world as more often than not, there's a sign on the door at the end of the evening noting that certain fish (sometimes even the entire stock) is sold out. Whether you're grabbing something fresh and practically flopping to take home and prepare yourself, or planning to sit at their outward facing bar (overlooking the glamorous North Bondi bus terminal) and devour some freshly grilled, battered and fried, or sashimi'ed and sushi-rolled fish, you really can't go wrong. The menu is continually changing with whatever's fresh and they do a damn good job of preparing it with as little fuss and flash as possible to let the beautiful flavour of the fish speak for itself. My advice? Try whatever roll they have on special. Check out my photos and you'll understand why.

We shared the sashimi appetizer, which was very fresh and tasty. The pieces were not particularly large, so don't expect it to fill you up. My niece had fish and chips, and really enjoyed it. For my main, I had the barramundi and chose the miso butter with it. The barramundi is described on the menu as "200g," which comes to more than 7 ounces. Cooked, it felt like a small portion, particularly because the plate didn't come with much else. Judged by the food and ambiance, I'd give this four stars. What soured the meal for us was our experience at the end with the waiter. My niece had spent the semester abroad in Australia and I was visiting her. She had explained to me that tipping was not a usual thing in Australia. I also learned that from my hotel desk clerk when I asked how I would change some currency for tips (e.g., for the chambermaid etc.). The desk clerk told me outright that people didn't tip in Australia. So when the check came at North Bondi, I was surprised to see options on the credit card machine for 10%, 15%, and 20% gratuity, although there was also an option for no tip. Puzzled, I turned to my niece, who picked "no tip." After that, the waiter questioned us, asking if we had had a problem with the meal or the service (which is entirely what I would have expected from a NY waiter who had been stiffed on a tip, but not what I expected in Australia). Then he practically threw the receipt on the table. Maybe North Bondi Fish gets a lot of American tourists who tip as if they were back home. (And I definitely would have tipped in the U.S. -- service was totally fine.) Under the circumstances, the waiter's attitude at the end was an unpleasant surprise. (And as a result, I ended up tipping 5% at every restaurant in Australia thereafter.)
