It's 50% off after 7pm ish. Great deal! So they get 5 stars for a nice dinner or late lunch at half off. Taste was good. Staff was very friendly and nice. Indoor open seating inside Hmart. The food was fresh. And that's important for sushi. Once you finish you can shop at Hmart.

Also this is a kosher restaurant which was super cool. We immediately were seated and asked for our drink orders. I ordered the lemon drop super delicious. Our waiter was also very patient with us because we were in such deep conversation and he allowed us to talk and was patient when we took a little longer to decide on our orders. We all ordered steaks, some came with asparagus, shallots, and mashed potatoes. A man came around and gave each of us a rose!!!! That was the sweetest gesture because we were 3 ladies out on valentines day with no male dates lol. Now to the steaks, They were BIG 10oz & very dense lol. I had mine cooked medium and it came with asparagus & shallots. We all enjoyed our meals. We got our checks and it comes in one so we just split it 3 ways to make it easier for the waiter. Overall the meal was delicious, drinks were great, and the ambiance is nice. I recommend this restaurant for a nice date night or even a business dinner.

The menu is complete with options for just about anyone, and we tried a little of everything! The Grazing Platter is an excellent place to start, and the Carpaccio with Arugula is spectacular. We had some sushi as well, and it was very well done. The hero of the evening was the Surprise Steak! Unbelievable!!! Our server was very attentive and gave excellent recommendations! And the restaurant is well decorated and comfortable. Definitely worth the drive from downtown, and I will be recommending Shallots to anyone who keeps Kosher, along with anyone that desires a tremendous dining experience! Well done!!!

We both agreed the food was outstanding, freshly prepared beautifully presented. The staff was very attentive, but not overly highly recommend if you're looking for excellent Thai food and they do provide quite a menu of fresh sushi options if that's something you enjoy.

I stumbled into Mai Thai and Sushi (the sign on the awning out front says Tub Tim Thai) while I was…read moreon a walk actually to grab lunch from somewhere else, but Thai sounded so delicious I changed my plans upon passing Mai Thai and Sushi and walked in here instead. There is easy street parking available, but I was walking so did not need any parking. The restaurant space has plenty of tables and was clean. There were a few tables sat when I walked in. There are no signs to wait for host/seat yourself, so I stood at the front for a few minutes before who I think is the owner actually ended up coming up and helping. He was running around, very busy, helping prepare and serve the food to the tables that had already ordered. I asked if I could just place an order to go and just ordered a Pad Thai for carry out. The food came out honestly very quickly for just one person in the kitchen plus the owner, and with other tables already with tickets in, but I would not necessarily say this is a super fast in and out experience if you're in a rush. The take out container was packaged in a thick brown bag (no breaking through the bottom of the bag on the walk home here!) and the owner cashed me out himself. He was very kind but did not really engage in any of the small talk I attempted while waiting for the screens to load and payment to process. The Pad Thai was packed super neatly and cleanly in a plastic take out box. The serving size was deceptively large, and they pack in a heavy serving of noodles and bean sprouts and your protein of choice (chicken for me!) into this little box. I was shocked at how fresh everything tasted! This was a perfect Pad Thai and I will absolutely order this a million times over living right down the block. There were plenty of fresh bean sprouts, the noodles were cooked perfect, it wasn't dry or drowning in sauce, a little lime wedge on the side and I was a happy camper. I can't wait to come back and try more menu items, their amazing lunch specials, and support a local business. Thank you, Mai Thai and Sushi!

Every single dish was better and better, the service was amazing, the ambiance is beautiful, and I seriously think this is a contender for the best restaurant that I have ever been to in my 19 years of travel and cuisine review. Thoroughly enjoyed, worth the drive, the food is to die for. Prices are very reasonable, portions are amazing, and the quality of the dishes is so authentic that it's ruined eating anywhere else for me because I know I won't be able to relive the taste I had the first time I came here. Amazing can't even begin to describe how wonderful the food here was - will most definitely be coming here whenever I come to Chicago from now on!

The last two times we went there we've had a new server(younger female). Both times she's screwed up our order. The first time, she forgot an appetizer all together and I had to ask for the bowl of rice that was supposed to come with it. The second time, my wife's dish came out first. I could see my dish sitting in the window for at least five minutes before she decided to grab it and bring it to a table that wasn't ours. The table she brought it to had ordered the same dish literally 2 minutes before mine was put in the window. She brought it to him before his appetizer was even up. He had specifically asked for zero spice and no peppers. The dish I ordered was a spice level 3. Not the best screw up when someone specifically asks for zero spice. She then avoided our table entirely and offered no explanation or apology. The younger male then brought us our check. We've loved this spot as a solid go to because we live walking distance and it doesn't disappoint. Moving forward, we'll probably opt for something else in the neighborhood. I won't be going back as long as she's working there. Food is good and prices are fair. Thumbs down on the drop in service quality.
