My family went there in Dec. It was early evening and only a few customers there. We waited and waited. Nobody came to take our order. Waitress forgot us? It did not look she was busy. We finally got her (younger lady) and she said "I am serving this customer!". Oh, thank you. When we finished having dinner, it was very crowded, so this is a popular restaurant after all. Pro: Sushi taste good. Fish is on better side, but sushi rice tastes just sour and missing something. Overall, it is better than many sushi restaurants. Very cute place! I loved the bright decor, the decorations, and that they played cute Japanese music. The food was much more like what I am used to coming from the East Coast, which made me very happy. This was the first place that had a dragon roll just how I like it, with eel, eel sauce, avocado, and tempura. The miso was good, and the service was prompt and friendly. The best sushi I have found in the area. The prices were the same to the area, which is more expensive than I'm used to, but the lunch prices are very, very affordable. I also liked that they gave full glasses of water and soda, because in CA a lot of places are very stingy with beverages, and when you order tea it came in a really cute set. read more

Who would of thunk to find a first class sushi experience at a place called Sushi Time in a strip mall in Seaside. To begin with, we sat at the bar because there was a large wait for a table yet we were served right away. The three chefs were like a well-oiled sushi-making machine. The portions were the best I've seen anywhere in the world and at very reasonable prices. All three of us had different dishes and appetizers with each one more delicious than the next. If you find yourself in the Monterey Bay area, and feeling for some sushi, you won't find a better meal/value than Sushi Time. Highly recommended! read more

I have patronized sushi restaurants on the Peninsula for 15 years. Sushi Time is without rival. There is not a single aspect of the establishment that bares reproach. From the quality of ingredients, the staff, the prices, Sushi Time delivers an impeccable product at a great price. Everyone that works there has great pride and passion for what they do and what they serve. The quality, color and flavor of the Albacore, ( no it's not dyed red like so many inferior grades of fish), the Yellow Tail, Salmon and Tuna are locally unsurpassed. Even the fryer oil is fresh and clean. The staff is beyond reproach. They have extreme, insightful knowledge and familiarity of the cuisine that they provide. They are helpful and engage with customers and provide a personal, comfortable atmosphere. If you're not frequenting Sushi Time, then you're eating a lesser grade of sushi. read more

Waitress with an adorable personality, great daily deals, quick service, and delicious food! This place is the whole package. It's so reasonably priced here that my boyfriend and I ordered way more than we were able to eat. Not to worry, for we took it all home as leftovers mmm! I'm so glad my new place is right up the street because this is going to become a go to quick dinner restaurant for me. The size is just right too! The rolls are affordable and super delicious. We got the jalapeño bomber roll, tiger roll, sour punch roll. All were good. If I had to choose one I would go with the sour punch because I love lemons. Also seems like the staff knows their customers which is nice to see read more

Super creative, delicious and fresh sushi! Looks cheesy on the outside but a nice surprise on the inside, I like what they have done with the place. Again I thought another sushi place? But it's probably my new favorite sushi spot! Super affordable and really fast service. I have tried a few different specialty rolls (forgetting names) but you can't go wrong, the fish is super fresh and the flavor combinations are excellent. My husband who is super picky even said it was some of the freshest sushi he's had and this was after it had sat for over an hour as I had gotten it to go for him. The employees are very friendly. My friend and I went just before closing. (9:30pm). The waitress came back and asked us if we wanted anything else to order because they were about to close the kitchen. The price range was fair. The food was good. If i had to rate the food I would give it a seven. Overall I would give it a 9. In my opinion. First time having "green tobiko." Becareful it's spicy. (Wasabi) They did not rush us at all. They were nice enough to let us stay past after hours. They actually insisted us to stay as long as we wanted. I guess they like our company. I highly recommend this sushi restaurant. read more

This place is hands down my favorite sushi restaurant here in Monterey area. As an out of town contractor I end up eating here 4 to 5 nights a week. Awesome grub with decent price. Pretty much the sweetest staff ever! The owner always makes it a point to talk to her customers. The food is delicious! Food was great and worth it, but the service was terrible. Been coming here for years and lately on our recent visits no one checked up on us to see how our food was until after we were done and asked for the check. The restaurant was near empty but the laughs and jokes amongst the employees filled the room. Our experience deteriorated the moment we walked in. My boyfriend who is usually the very understanding and patient one even had to admit that this was the last time we will ever come back here. The one guy server here lacks in hospitality skills completely and the owners should know that there weakest employee needs training and better work ethic or possibly a recommendation for a job at a gas station. Every time he's taken care of us, his energy destroys our experience alone. Sadly, today was our last time supporting this restaurant due to the lack of service, not the food. We arrived about 3:00 PM on a Monday. The restaurant was only partially full, and several tables were finishing up while others were already empty. We waited over 15 minutes to be seated, though a waitress never even acknowledged us, or the customers that were in front of us. We finally had to give up, and we're not sure if we'll be back any time soon. If the wait staff won't even let you know that they're behind and will get to you, there's no telling how long it might have taken to have actually been served food. read more

Ordered take out which was fast and cheap. Vegetarian items aren't abundant but offered. Tried the vegetable tempura, veg. Tempura roll, vegetarian roll, and avocado roll, and miso soup. All were very good. Only draw back was the girl on the phone couldn't understand my order of inari on the phone. Being pretty well versed in japanese, I don't think I butchered the word, but who knows, maybe it was my phone. But inari would've been nice. Keeps getting better and better... I'm about ready to give this place 5 stars. When it first opened the portions weren't the best and the presentation was lacking. However, with each return trip the quality has gone up (along with the portions). This is now the best deal for sushi any time of the day in Monterey with quality approaching Harumi. We have tried about a dozen of the rolls and all of them have been good (although nothing has stood out as a home run). Great place for a sushi fix. read more
