Normally, we order delivery from Sushi Time. This time, we ate in. What a delightful experience! From the samurai decor throughout the restaurant to the screens dividing each table to the sweetest wait staff, this place may just become a new regular outing. The food is always great at a decent price. The service and ambiance are the cherry on top. The next time you're in the mood for sushi that doesn't break the bank, I definitely recommend this cozy spot.
An amazing find in Seaside!! For $18.62, I got their lunch bento special, which was a good portion of spicy California rolls, chicken katsu, rice, salad and miso soup. The lunch special is customizable and you can pick from a lot of different sushi and meat. And during lunch, you get a free side of gyoza! In this economy, this is a steal! Great quality too! Great portions!
7.5/10 Came in for sushi and overall had a good experience, with some clear highs and lows. Sashimi was the star of the night, super fresh, flavorful, and honestly a must-get. 10/10. The tuna rolls were solid with a generous tuna-to-rice ratio, but the cuts were pretty uneven, as you can see, and the seaweed wrap was oddly sticky and getting stuck to my teeth (never had that happen before). Still tasty overall 8/10. Great sushi, just not the most precise cuts. Staff was kind and genuinely considerate, but the place was busy busy. It felt like the team was sprinting around trying to keep up. My order came out wrong, and everything was served at totally different times, which made the meal feel inconsistent. I honestly felt like helping them at one point. Small space, tight seating, and a lot of foot traffic around us. Decor was nice, but nothing on the TVs (no sports). Just okay overall. The sushi itself was worth it, fresh and enjoyable, but the service and seating situation could definitely be smoother.

Let's start with the Funny Bunny roll. Listen. I was not prepared for a sweet potato to come in and steal the whole show like Beyoncé entering a room. It's vegetarian, yes... but the flavor? The crunch? The "hello, I didn't know I needed this in my life"? Absolutely unhinged. Whoever invented this roll deserves a raise, a hug, and maybe joint custody of my future children (just kidding). Then we tried the Sake Blossom, which is basically a love letter to salmon. If you're a salmon fan, this roll will snatch your soul right out of your body. Soft, buttery, melt-in-your-mouth... the kind of roll that makes you close your eyes dramatically like you're in a food commercial. Next up: the Mango Tango. Tropical, refreshing, and honestly gave me vacation vibes. One bite and I was mentally on a beach chair with a drink in hand, ignoring my responsibilities. It's fruity, it's fun, it's giving "summer fling" energy... except this fling won't ghost you. Now let's talk about the people, because the food is amazing... but the service? Even better. The crew are so friendly and sweet that you feel you're getting diabetes. And Joe -- the owner -- is a whole ray of sunshine. Attentive, chipper, and such a humble guy. Bottom line: this place is a must. The rolls slap, the service is A+, and the energy is so warm and happy you'll walk out feeling like you just visited family... the good side of the family, not the ones who ask why you haven't popped another baby just yet. Run, don't walk. Your taste buds will thank you.
Located in a strip mall with decent parking, the sushi rolls were so good! The Totoro roll was bomb, like poke as a sushi roll. The kawaii was good esp if you like a good assortment of fish. My partner tried the tonkotsu, said it was okay but it was not their strong suit.
We visited this sushi restaurant last night, which is a place I've gone to many times before. It was a Friday around 6:30 pm and fairly busy, but when we arrived we were the only two people waiting to be seated. We stood near the front for several minutes and could see the staff and what appeared to be the owner looking in our direction, but no one acknowledged us or came to seat us. Shortly after, another couple with their teenage daughter came in behind us. The man quickly greeted them and attempted to seat them right away. When he realized there wasn't a clean table available, he asked them how many were in their party. The couple even looked at us and it became clear that we had been waiting there first. Despite that, he grabbed menus and proceeded to seat them before us. The couple themselves seemed a little uncomfortable and looked back at us again as it happened. I've always enjoyed coming here for sushi, but this interaction was disappointing. All customers deserve to be acknowledged and seated in the order they arrive. I'm not sure what the reason was, but it definitely left me feeling overlooked and uncomfortable. I hope the restaurant takes situations like this seriously because good customer service and fairness matter. I will say we enjoy the food but I'm not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon.

They open at 11:30, so I always get there a little before 11:30, so I can place the order right at 11:30, so I can make it to the Dr office by 12. I always get rolls here and this time I asked the waiter for suggestions-he gave me a handful of recommendations. I went with one of his, "The Hakuna Matata roll" and then one that sounded good to me, "The Hamachi Daisuki roll". But I wish I would have gone with both of his suggestions, since the one I picked I didn't really like! But the one he picked was great!! They always have the food ready for me by 12:50, which gives me just enough time to make it to the Dr office in time.
I decided to try this place after passing it hundreds of times, and I'm sad to say I wish I kept on driving. I came to the restaurant around dusk for dinner service. There were a few open seats and was promptly seated by the folks rolling sushi. They do have high chairs for the kids and the bathroom was locked when I went back there, and they were gender-specific. I ordered the Agedashi Tofu and a Tiger Roll. The sauce that came with the tofu was underwhelming, but the tofu was nice, firm and crispy. The Tiger Roll wasn't the best. The rice had a mushy texture & consistency. For the price, I think I will return for other items. Price: $34 (w/20% tip)
First off, I have to say the Studio Ghibli decor in this establishment is fabulous! I also liked the spacing of the tables in here.. it didn't feel cramped. Second, the waiter was super nice and the service was very quick. Third, the miso soup and the salmon roll that i had was AMAZING!! I'll definitely be returning for more. However, I believe my chicken was undercooked. I was told it was because of the marmalade it sits in, but I've never seen such pink poultry. I was nervous to eat it, but I had a few bites.. This is an awesome sushi spot, one of my favorites in the Monterey area (Seaside to be exact). They have a great lunch/dinner special that includes many options for a good deal. There are SO MANY special rolls. A few of my favorites are the the hamachi daisuki, sour punch, and pinky pinky roll. I also love ordering a chef special that includes a mix of nigiri, rolls, or sashimi. You can't go wrong with anything you order here, all of the seafood is so fresh, and the fried food is delicious and crispy. The staff are all super friendly and welcome us back every time we visit. The restaurant has a lot of tables (mostly 4 tops), but I've seen them push tables together for larger groups (probably best to call ahead in that case). The decorations are cute, tasteful, and fun, with a mix of studio ghilbli images and samurai themed art. They are usually playing early 2000/2010 music hits which are familiar to me. read more
We are in town for a couple days and wanted to get some sushi before we left. This place was super close to where we are staying so we gave it a try. It was delicious! I'm from San Diego, and I've tried lots of different restaurants so I was pleasantly surprised. The service was great, everyone that helped us was very kind. Prices were decent and the decor was lovely. I have never seen such a large sushi roll menu! read more

Wow - what a great lunch special! I had a bento box with salmon teriyaki and tuna roll. It included gyoza, rice, salad and miso soup. $16.95! Delicious perfectly prepared and service was friendly and fast! I'll be returning soon! read more

Sushi Time is a MUST visit spot if you live near or are visiting Seaside!! The service is great and the food is top tier. Not only does it taste delicious, but the chef makes sure it all looks perfect. They've recently had some renovations and the space looks so nice and clean. I always make sure to visit every time I'm in Monterey. read more

Wow, great little hidden gem in an unassuming strip mall next to a liquor store off of Fremont! I've lived in the Monterey area now for about 7 years and this may be the best sushi I've had here. High quality ingredients, well crafted sushi, great service and cool vibe! This will certainly be my new go-to sushi spot, do yourself a favor and check it out! If owners or management are reading I went on 4-29-25 at around 7:15pm Food: As the name implies, sushi is really the star of the show here but they do offer a wide variety of less common Japanese cuisine including Okonomiyaki, Takoyaki and Croquettes which can be a fun add on to any sushi order. Speaking of sushi, the susih is spectacular and they have an extensive sushi menu which can cater to anyones tastes. Various baked and deep fried options with about 2 additional pages of "Special" rolls, plus your more traditional maki rolls. We had the Alaskan and Honeymoon roll both of which were stellar, along with a few standard maki rolls which were delicious as well. I don't know how the sushi chefs managed to crank out all that sushi in such a short amount of time but everyone around us was getting their food quickly. The prices across the board are pretty reasonable for the area, but it certainly isn't cheap. Trust me when I say, you get what you pay for! Service: On the drive home I was describing to my wife how they provided the perfect service. Fast, efficient, no mistakes, the right amount of checking up on you and refilling drinks, with just a pinch of banter/humor. Bad restaurants have too little service, good resturants have too much service, great restaurants have just the perfect balance! As I mentioned earlier we arrived and within a few minutes the restaurant was completely packed and the two servers working did an amazing job of spinning all of those plates! At one point a shareable appetizer arrived (Okonomiyaki) and we didn't have small plates. The woman serving us noticed this and immediately went to get small plates without us saying a word. It seems simple but I can't tell you how many times I've needed to request small plates for shareable food. All in all, great service! Ambiance: The location is fairly small and unassuming but they are absolutely making the most of what they have. Neutral calming colors and the occassional color pop give the room a relaxed but modern feel and small free standing dividers separate the tables so you have some privacy while you eat. A smattering of radio hits from the last decade was the soundtrack played at a reasonable volume so that a conversation was still easy but made for some nice backround noise so you dont really hear your neighbors. I think in general they are probably catering to a younger crowd than your standard sushi restaurant but it is very approachable for all ages. read more

I believe the wait for both the food and seating was worth it after trying their amazing, mouthwatering platter. I enjoyed every bite and safe to say: it was very filling. One thing to note is that it gets very lively at night and the staff would be running around a lot. I enjoyed a lot of their music, it's giving 2010s throwback. I would definitely go again when it's not that busy. read more
Time for a update. Eight years ago I gave Sushi Time 3 stars. I've enjoyed eating there a few more times since this update. And I'll definitely stick right there. Good attentive service, fairly clean and the prices are fair. The interior is looking a bit old now. The food is isn't fantastic or high quality, it's not plated artistically or do they have a signature dish I know of. But they are good. Please, read my first review too get some backstory. What they do right is serve the hot things hot and cool things cool, nice. Last words...fresh real wasabi every time. read more

Dinner combo was $25 and included a bomb miso soup, rice, teriyaki, like 8 California rolls and a salad was included. I got gyoza as an appetizer and it was also really good! The server was so sweet too! Recommend!!! Amount and quality of the food was definitely worth the price. Ambiance of restaurant is so cute and there are bathrooms as well read more

What we ordered: Takoyaki- my husband was so excited to see this on the menu because we always see videos of how this is made. Takoyaki is a deep fried, ball shaped cake. It was filled with minced octopus and tempura, topped with bonito flakes and a sauce. If I had to compare it to something I'd say it tasted like a croquette filled with octopus. Overall, I'd give it a 3/5. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. Garlic-Holic Roll- this roll was absolutely delicious. It was filled with shrimp tempura and avocado; topped with albacore, eel, escolar, fried onion, green onion, masago, and garlic sauce. Only complaint is this roll did not taste like garlic, at all. I'd give this roll a 4/5 Fire Fire Roll- full disclaimer, I do not read the menu entirely before ordering this roll and was shocked to say the least when it came out in flames. Straight 5/5 presentation!!!! The roll was filled with shrimp tempura, spicy crabmeat, avocado and cream cheese; topped with salmon and furikake. The taste was delicious, but it was difficult to finish. I found myself wanting either a crunchy texture or something cold added to the baked roll. Overall, I'd give this roll a 4/5 The service was welcoming and sat up promptly. The price point is fair; $43 before tip. The menu here seems endless and certainly has a little something for everyone. Inside there seems to be plenty of seating for a variety of group sizes. The decor was cute and tasteful. The bathroom was clean and fully stocked. The location is situated in a small strip mall with a handful of other businesses. Parking was fine for us but I could see it being sparse depending on the time of day. I'd certainly recommend this sushi restaurant and would come back to try more of their offerings. read more

No they do not...but they do have specials almost every night. Example sake and 3 rolls for $$
