House burrito is well worthy of an order, different and very well executed. Amazing! Energy at the register and in the kitchen is impressive, makes you feel welcomed and custom catered. You can tell it's been a local favorite for decades--the hand-scrawled signs and slogans everywhere give it so much character. They've been around for 40 years! The Blackened Chicken sandwich is what they're famous for, and it lives up to the hype as I've been ordering it since middle school. It's got a solid kick, and that buttermilk garlic dressing they use is addictive. If you're leaning more toward the taqueria side, the Blackened Shrimp Tacos and the Steak Fajitas are the move. I also get the House Burrito a lot as it's one of their famous specialties. Everything feels fresh and grilled, not greasy, which is a nice change of pace. The service is fast and friendly and the portions are huge for the price. It's a small, no-frills spot inside, but they have plenty of seating and a steady stream of locals picking up takeout which is always a good sign. Every meal comes with chips and salsa! Pro tip: They're closed on Sundays, so make sure you get your fix during the week. Definitely the best spot in PG for a quick, high-quality lunch that won't break the bank.

Shout out to In and Out for saving the day. We visited Carmel yesterday and decided to have dinner…read morein town. After an hour plus wait, the restaurant we wanted to eat at still had no tables available. Our toddler was hangry and couldn't stand the idea of having to sit and wait any longer. So we decided to pop by here. These folks not only got us food, they also gave the tiny monster stickers, a hat and a high chair. I'd have photos, but we were starving and ate it all.

I've been to many in n outs - many! I usually never leave them a review, because well....it's in n…read moreout - it's always good!! (Most of the time) I've only left an in n out a review only once before and it's usually when something is wrong. Because I know they care about their brand. So here goes....something is kind of sus with this location: 1- The burgers: usually in n out burgers taste fresh. You don't get that "old meat funk" in the smell or flavor. Our burgers, at least, had a little of that funk, the kind of funk when meat sits out or is a little old. I didn't get sick or anything, but you can taste the funk - it didn't taste like the in n out burgers I'm used to. 2- The space: man this place was a mess. Food all over the tables. Trash all over and around the trash cans. Food under the tables. It was just kind of gross. We wiped down our table and chairs with napkins. They weren't even busy when we went, so not sure why that was the case. 3- The atmosphere: you can barely breathe. No AC or even fan running. After about 10 minutes inside, I felt like I was suffocating. I went outside where there was a nice breeze, while waiting for food. They just really needed to open the door. Luckily, they turned the AC on after I came back inside. All in all - it wasn't the worst in n out I've been to. But it's not the in n out standard I'm used to.

You might be wondering, "what are you doing here?" I'm wondering the same thing! If you read my…read moreother reviews, you'll see that I reside in the Central Valley, which is pretty far from Monterey, but not too far. I came for a little vacation from the heat, which is definitely necessary because it gets pretty toasty in the Fresno area. I think it's all the roads and stuff. I wouldn't know, I'm not a scientist. To continue what I was saying, I came to Monterey for a little vacation! Usually I'd go eat at a little spot at a mall called Island Burger, but to my surprise, the place was permanently closed! Can you believe it? I couldn't. Because the Island Burger was closed, I decided to go elsewhere for a burger. I checked online to see what folks were saying about this place, and it seemed like everybody had mostly positive things to say. So I went and ate there! When I walked in I noticed it was one of those spots where you just kinda put in your order and sit down and wait. So that's what I did. I got the spicy burger, but I can't remember the name of it. I also got some onion rings and chicken wings. I'd like to mention that I was with my family so we could share those items. I could theoretically eat all of that myself, but that'd be a bit greedy. The burger was great and it had a good amount of spice. The meat was juicy and nicely seasoned, and the fries were perfectly crispy. The onion rings had a delicious batter, and were fried to perfection. The chicken wings really surprised me! I would go as far as to say that they were on par with, and maybe even better than Wingstop. Overall, the service was great and quick, the food was immaculate, and I would absolutely recommend this spot to anybody who is in the area. The bathrooms are nice too. I forgot to mention that. Good bathrooms are very important.

The patty was a solid size, not too thick and not too thin. It was the perfect thickness, giving you a great balance of meat, cheese, and toppings in every bite. Everything is made fresh to order, and you can tell. The lettuce was crisp, the tomatoes were fresh, the grilled onions were perfect, and the whole thing was put together so well. It wasn't messy, just a quality burger from the first bite to the last.My son got The Works, and if you saw his burger, you'd understand why he cleaned his plate. The food came out fresh, hot, and looked amazing. They really take the time to make everything look picture-worthy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, the wait wasn't long at all, and they have self-serve fountain drinks, which is always a plus. The menu is simple and easy to order from. They have salads, chicken burgers, hamburgers, and you can customize your burger however you like. Their burgers are cooked medium-well by default, but I asked for mine well-done and they got it exactly right. The customer service was cool. They weren't over the top trying to impress you, but they definitely weren't underperforming either. Everyone was chill, friendly, and got the job done. The portions are generous. I only finished half my burger and took the rest home. I reheated it later and it was still just as delicious. Overall Rating: 8.7/ 10. This place has officially earned a spot on my list of go-to burger spots. I'll definitely be back!

It's Veteran owned and that's made loud and proud by the names of the specials (named after each branch in the military) and the interior decor. There's clipboards on the table in front of the shop that you fill out and bring to the deli counter where they make your sandwich, call your name, and ring you up at the register. I had the Marine special (chicken breast, bacon, Cesar dressing, melted pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and pickle) on Dutch crunch and my significant other had the Space Force (a newer variation of the chicken sandwich with Chick-fil-a Polynesian sauce). They also had a ton of chips and drinks inside the market for you to pair with your sammies!
