Teriyaki Chicken & Beef Combo

First time here and was blown away. Super fast and friendly service. The flavors were amazing. Also you definitely get your moneys worth! The portions are large so come hungry and look forward to leftovers. Will absolutely be coming back!

This is my daughter's recommendation for dinner when I visited her at college. She loves it so much that we went here two nights in a row for dinner. She loves the sushi here so her go to is the Orange Dragon roll and Spicy Salmon Handroll. I've had their Galbi Beef Plate but my favorite was the Korean BBQ Ribs- full of flavor and cooked to perfection. Service was great and attentive. Will be back.

Samurai Sashimi (top to bottom): Tuna, Yellow Tail, Salmon and Albacore
Peter M.

On my day train trip to Goleta from the SFV, I was diligently covering the culinary bases. I started at one eatery for breakfast, then another food spot for appetizer, which was followed by my third base for lunch, at Sushi Teri. It is a small well appointed dining space that has a good vibe and welcoming serving staff. After reading a menu outside, I decided on the Samurai Sashimi special. It came with two pieces each of Tuna, Yellow Tail, Salmon and Albacore. Accompaniments were seaweed, cucumber, radish, ginger and wasabi. The presentation arrived swiftly and was well poised for picture taking. My stay here though, was a totally different matter. All four pieces of fish were not adequately sauced, half with, the other half without. Clearly, a lop sided job, to get the dish expressly to the table? Then, the sashimi pieces themselves were bad cuts, some of which were internally membranous. Never had this happen at other restaurants. The albacore portions had clearly visible outer membranes (see my picture). Finally, the ambiance. Both the behind the counter sushi chefs were conversing between themselves in a very loud manner, so much so, that you could hear them throughout the restaurant. I mentioned it to the server, who quickly stated that he could not do anything about it. Really? On top of that, they do have WiFi, that too was scanty, unreliable and dropping the signal repeatedly. Overall, a disappointing dining experience. Oh well.

Great place for a quick lunch. We sat in the patio - they've also added additional outdoor seating on the side near the parking lot. Staff was friendly. Rolls were delicious.

Food was great!! Had the popcorn salmon, highly recommended. Service was great, friendly and quick. Great for families and couples too. Not loud inside, which was nice

Solid sushi, quick service and good atmosphere! A great sushi option in Goleta with a large variety of rolls and some dishes. The spicy edamame slaps btw

Teriyaki and Tempura
Mark Y.

When you enter Sushi Teri you are greeted by a friendly staff and a clean yet generic decor. I ordered a tempura and teriyaki chicken combo with a California roll. It came with a huge cabbage salad (which consists of cabbage and thousand island dressing). The California roll was perfectly done, with a hint of sesame in the rice to eliminate any potential blandness. The teriyaki chicken was well made. Lightly sauced, not smothered. There was a variety of fresh tempura vegetables and giant ball of rice. LOTs of food. Their wasabi is fairly tame, but I'm not really complaining. Overall, a nice place at a good price.

Red Dragon Roll, Uni, Ikura, Salmon
Katie P.

Very average sushi restaurant considering it's Santa Barbara. I ordered the Red Dragon Roll, Salmon, Sweet Shrimp, Ikura (Salmon Roe), and Uni (Sea Urchin). The red dragon roll was cut disproportionally where some sizes were significantly larger than others. The description stated that it would have avocado inside and I was disappointed to note that it was simply a slice of avocado smeared over three pieces of the entire roll. The presentation was an absolute disaster. The salmon roe was not only fishy but also salty and wet as if it were left in the fridge for days. Additionally, I found a fish scale inside my ikura. It was not fresh by any means. The sea urchin was disappointing as the taste and aftertaste were both odd and not sweet. For $15 for two, I'd recommend hopping over to Sun Sushi for better quality sea urchin for the same price. The salmon nigiri deserves an honorable mention as the saving point of this meal. While this may be one of the better sushi places in Goleta, I'd highly recommend making the extra drive for Sun Sushi or Oku. While it may be a bit more pricey, the quality of their fish is definitely better.

Not bad for the price. It will do for casual dining. Typical Japanese comfort food. I'm alright with that.

Shared 3 rolls with my son and they were all wonderful. The Rainbow roll was prepared beautifully and it was just as good.

The miso soup was pretty "meh", but the salad with its miso dressing was tasty, as was the shrimp and veggie tempura; nothing outstanding, but on point. The pork-filled gyoza were also fresh and delicious. The "Bluefin tuna 6 ways" was outstanding: each presentation highlighted different cuts of the fish and each one was delicious and a bit different, really good. My girl had some green tea mochi she liked; I tasted it and it didn't do much for me, but... Wine pours by the glass are generous and reasonable, and the service was just fine, courteous and attentive. This is a small restaurant and it can get kind of noisy and crowded, but that's also a testament to the fact people know how good this place is. If you're a local you probably know this, but if you're a visitor (like we were) be sure to check this place out if you're in Santa Barbara and craving really good Japanese food. Recommended.

This is definitely not a fancy schmancy restaurant, but the food, variety and service makes it worth it. It is in a shopping plaza with spacious parking. The ambiance is very casual. You know it's good when you see locals frequenting the restaurant. You can get a variety of hot pot dishes, rice dishes, traditional dishes, boba, drinks and appetizers. The broths have several broth options and each of them have its own yumminess. Our favorite dishes are: peppered dice steak, spicy seafood hotpot, popcorn chicken and their fruit teas! It's a small restaurant so just a heads up if you're trying to go with a group. As you walk in, you're able to select a table of your choosing and scan the QR code to place your order. There's a lot of variety to choose from on the menu, from different meats and appetizers to even some vegetarian options. As a group of 3, we decided to share 2 mini hot pots - the NZ lamb option and the Korean army stew. Starting with the lamb, the slices of meat are cut thinly and folded neatly into the broth, so I recommend moving it around to ensure that it cooks evenly. From the fish cake and mushroom to the tofu, I enjoyed eat bite of this dish. The only feedback I have is due to personal preference - I wish it did come with sauces because the lamb itself was not as flavorful as I hoped it would be and the broth doesn't necessarily add depth to it. Now with the Korean army stew, it's more of a mild spice level so it would be fine for anyone who doesn't have as strong of a tolerance. The standouts of this dish would be the shin ramyun, the rich broth, the quail eggs and the kimchi. It's really comforting and warming! Lastly, we did try the popcorn chicken appetizer. It was perfectly fried, still tender, and I can even taste the five spice which paired nicely with the fried basil. It's really good to have either on its own, with the sweet chili sauce provided, or even with the hot both broth as well. I definitely recommend checking out Uniboil!
