Horrible customer service and hospitality. I called to see if they could add a side of spicy mayo to my DoorDash order, and they flat out refused. Normally that wouldn't be a huge issue if there was actually a way to add it through the DoorDash menu, but there isn't. I explained that I was trying to pay for it and simply wanted to know how to do so, yet the woman I spoke with was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of trying to help find a solution, I was treated like I was inconveniencing them by asking a simple question. Good customer service is about helping customers (I've ordered there many times before and dined in person as well), especially when there's an issue with your online ordering setup. A small side of spicy mayo should not turn into an unpleasant interaction. The food may be decent, but customer service matters too. There are plenty of sushi restaurants that appreciate their customers and are willing to provide basic courtesy and assistance. They hit our radar because of the BOGO offers on UberEats, so we ordered for pick up. The parking lot can be a mess, so a two person crew works best for a quick acquisition. The albacore sushi was the highlight for me; it was very fresh. It may be odd to say, but the avocado on the sunset roll was noticably flavorful. We will be back. One of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. The waitress was not just rude--she actually yelled profanities at me during the meal. Completely unprovoked and shockingly unprofessional. I was stunned. On top of that, the sushi was awful. The fish tasted old, the rice was dry, and the entire meal felt like something you'd get from a gas station, not a restaurant. I came in 20 minutes before their break and asked if they had time for a quick togo roll and they were so polite and accepting. As a door dash delivery, this review is simply the quality and flavor. Nicely made rolls with true sushi rice that stay together even after delivery and dipping into soy sauce. We had baked salmon, rainbow, and salmon nigiri. Slight fishy hint to flavor, and some chew to it but overall pretty fresh; compared to island sushi (Hawaii) we are used too. This is from a long time ago but wanted to make a note for myself. The salmon in the chirashi bowl is sooo good. Usually I can't taste the difference between salmon quality, I eat a ton of raw salmon, get poke pretty frequently, had raw king salmon etc but something about this was way better than typical. My boyfriend and I love coming here and I will explain the loss of star in a moment, but let's start with you should definitely still check this place out. There's a little outside spot that has a few tables that is dog friendly which we love! Also the food is really good and fresh. Service is very fast and they always get our order correct and are super friendly. I really like the spicy pork (I am normally not a pork person)! But it is the right amount of heat and flavor that is Kurt perfect with rice. The custom poki bowls are really great option with always fresh fish. Now the lack of one star comes from a few things. 1. Something about the tempura batter used I am just not a fan of and it leaves a strange taste on my palette. 2. The miso soup was strangely sweet almost like some sugar or something was added. 3. The price of some of the items is a bit high...but it's a sushi restaurant in a popular center in Irvine so that is to be expected. Wow. We live close by and definitely slept on this place. The sushi rolls are packed with quality ingredients. One roll is perfect for one person for a nice filling lunch. They have a buy one get one half off for drinks every day. The service is very friendly and quick. We had a late lunch on a Saturday and it was quiet but some other tables were seated. This was my first time here and I had a great experience! We went with a friend who is a regular and knew the waitress. Apparently they are really good with making special orders upon request. For example, my friend has to watch his salt intake so instead of miso soup and salad he gets a double salad portion. He also gets some rolls with less sauce. There aren't any "lunch specials" but they always have the plate menu where you pick 2 items on the smaller menu list for $18 or 3 for $25. It also comes with a soup and salad. No line or wait time. Waitress was patient and gave us time to look over the menu. I ended up getting a spicy salmon type of roll, and my sister got the mango roll which she really enjoyed. We ordered from this restaurant for their buy one get one free rainbow roll however, once we checked out, we realize it was just the one roll so when we tried to cancel the order to then re-add the special deal. it said that we would have to pay $25 for the cancellation fee to re-order it which we did not want to do. It's worth the price since you'll usually pay 10-12 anywhere for a roll, so it's not bad and considering where it is located in Irvine. They have a happy hour deal, too. read more
