HAKATA TONKOTSU: very tasty. solid ramen! the broth is like a 4.5/5. tasty but borderline too milky? great cha siu and perfectly cooked egg service: Very nice service! Attentive staff! ambiance: woody, intimate, cozy. great parking.

Their veggie ramen broth was creamy and very flavorful. We got 'Spicy' (the last being 'Very Spicy'). Quite a few veggies in the ramen but would have loved it if it came with a few more like bamboo shoots and corn. You can order extras of those. The spinach noodles in the ramen had a very nice chewy texture. The ramen was topped with greens which became soggy and killed the texture of the dish. But overall, would definitely go back for the ramen. Their Brussels sprouts tempura comes with soy sauce and matcha salt - a very nice addition to the dish that really paired well. Highly recommend trying this dish! Prompt service and lovely ambience. A great spot to hang out with friends / go on a date. In a neighborhood with multiple restaurants. Parking is free in the lot outside. Accessible restroom - clean and well-maintained.

We came upon this spot by accident but am glad we found it. The takoyaki was hot and fresh! It was delicious. I got the special tenten ramen which was really good. I'm the spice level on that one is set so no adjustments can be made. I like spicy food and i couldn't used a bit more spice. The food is good but I docked 1 star for service. It took quite a while to get our ramen and we were trying to make eye contact with a server for a good 10 minutes to get our check. It was pretty busy and it is a new business. Seems like they are still trying to get into the groove.

We absolutely loved our experience here. The ramen had a clean, well-balanced flavor that didn't feel overly heavy or greasy. The chicken paitan was cooked just right -- rich and creamy but still smooth, allowing the flavor to stand out without being overpowering. You can tell care goes into the broth. The appetizers were just as impressive. The calamari and takoyaki came out hot and crispy, perfectly cooked with great texture. Everything tasted fresh and made-to-order. And honestly, the value makes it even better -- $8 per bowl is fantastic for the quality you're getting. Great flavor, great portions, and great price. We'll definitely be back. And yes- they are dog friendly, even gave my dog a bowl of water!

Marufuku is a solid ramen spot near Irvine Spectrum! I always get the chicken paitan dx which is a unique dish not usually found at other restaurants. It's a chicken ramen that comes with a sizzling plate of chicken on bean sprouts that's savory and sweet. The service is great, I felt that the staff was attentive and checked in often. The ambiance is also great. Although personally, the lighting is a little dark in this space so that may be worth consideration. Overall, it's a great lunch / dinner spot, definitely check it out !

Really a 4.5 star. Came on New Years Eve 2025. Firstly, the tonkatsu pork belly ramen was great, if not excellent! Noodles were nicely al dente and the broth was rich and satisfying. Toppings were also plentiful and fresh. However, the DX version was a bit stingy with just 1 additional thick cut pork belly on top. At least, when compared with the DX chicken paitan, which came with a whole leg quarter on a sizzling teppanyaki! Yet, as amazing as the chicken quarter looked, the taste of the leg itself was a bit of a letdown too. The sweet ponzu sauce was lathered generously on top, but the meat itself didn't have flavor, so I guess it wasn't marinated in it. And it was also a bit overcooked. So based on that, I'd say neither of the DX options were worth it. I must reiterate though, that both ramens themselves WERE worth it. And worth revisits. The soft egg was absolutely perfectly executed. One of the best I've seen. And a whole egg at that, not just a half. We also received stellar customer service. Our server Claudia was attentive and very courteous! I also liked how spacious it is, unlike the usual hole in the wall styles of a Japanese-run ramenya. All the best to this place!

A solid ramen spot with good tonkotsu broth! The tonkotsu ramen is flavorful and comes with a thin noodle, but you can also substitute it for a thicker noodle. I tried the maze soba this time, which is a soupless ramen. I liked the sauce and thought the toppings gave it a great contrast of textures. However the noodles were very undercooked and almost hard. If they were cooked a little longer it would've been a perfect dish! Our server was great and there was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating for a casual meal.

This was my first time visiting Marufuku Ramen, and what stood out to me was the high quality presentation of their oyster shell-shaped ramen bowls. I ordered the Hakata Tonkatsu Dx with an additional topping of bamboo shoots, along with fried squid legs and an unsweetened iced matcha beverage. Our waitress gave excellent recommendations from the menu. We only waited maybe 10-15 minutes for all of our food to come out. There's plenty of parking in the plaza this restaurant is located in. The interior is clean and maintains a culturally Japanese feel to it. I would definitely come back!

I had no idea Marufuku Ramen had expanded outside of San Francisco at all until my former co-worker suggested that we have lunch here. I honestly had been quite underwhelmed by my visit to the SF location. But since it was his call, I agreed to it. Ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu (mild) with no add-ons since I wasn't particularly hungry. I guess it was fine? Tonkotsu broth was pretty flavorful and the right amount of rich without being overwhelming, with mild providing a very...well, mild kick. I'm not the biggest fan of Hakata-style ramen noodles, but they did well to hold the flavor of the broth. Pork was fine. Solid bowl, nothing special to me. Staff here were friendly, no complaints. I might have to try the Hakata Tonkotsu DX for a real comparison since that is what I had in SF. But for this visit, the ramen did not offend me.

Servers are very welcoming even explained to us the menu, we sat outside and she even offered a bowl of water for our pet. Broth is rich in flavor, it's a plus that you can choose how spicy you want your Ramen. but serving is on smaller side compared to the other Ramen place we've been. Place is clean and they have outside seating.

Today I visited this place for lunch with my wife. I used to visit original Marufuku located in San Francisco Japantown and it was awesome. This place also awesome as original place. Quality of chasu, buta kakuni was great and ramen was delicious. I think the taste of ramen is consistent which is important. In addition, our server Rene who has nice smile gave us wonderful service. He welcomed us with nice vibe. No complaint at all for his great service. Thank you Rene!! I will definitely come back. It was awesome lunch!

Came here for the first time after a friend's recommendation. When I first walked in, the hostess was busy on the phone so I just checked into the tablet for yelp. I sat inside by the chairs waiting for her to call us or acknowledge us, but she kept herself busy. We then saw other people who had checked in after us just tell the hostess they're going to just sit in the empty seats in the restaurant. The restaurant wasn't full, so we thought we'd be seated quickly, so when she sat people who came in after us, we realized they don't even check the yelp check in, you just need to ask them to be seated. When we finally got seated, nobody came to get our orders too. We waited for a while until we were able to flag down a servers attention to finally put in our orders. The ramen itself was mediocre, definitely better ramen spots in Irvine. The broth was a little too salty and the ramen noodles itself are thin, not your typical thicker chewy ramen noodles. Given the poor service and mediocre food, would probably not come back again as there are plenty of better ramen options around.

Second time here and it was just as good the second time. The potstickers are perfect. The ramen is delicious and the service is great. Perfect dish for a cold, rainy night. I love the thinker noodles over the skinny pho-like noodles but that doesn't change the fact that the broth and all of the toppings make this ramen place my favorite! Love the ambience (other than the counter seating with all the boxes on the bar) - elevated feel.

Does your Spicy TanTan Ramen have peanut butter or sesame paste? I'm allergic to peanuts so I want to make sure before I place an order.

Good morning , unfortunately our tan tan ramen has sesame on the main base , and chili oil that contains sesame oil. Regarding the peanuts the label said it might contain since it is made in a facility that produce some other items with peanuts .

Do you have gluten free ramen noodles?

Good morning , Yes we have gluten free noodles , but it important to mention that Kaeshi the Japanese oil mix use in our ramens may contain soy sauce ( soy sauce contain gluten) as an ingredient.

Do your ramen broths contain dairy at all?

Hi Lauren, no dairy at all in our broths. See you soon.

Hi, Do you mix park broth with chicken broth ion the chicken pitan ramen?

My server said the chicken is "just" chicken, specifically intended for those who don't want any pork products. It's delicious, BTW.

This wasn't just a "ramen joint"--it was a masterclass in authentic Fukuoka-style soul food. The Broth: Liquid Gold The standout was always their Signature Tonkotsu broth. You could literally taste the 30+ hours of labor that went into it. It had that distinct "frothy" texture (the bubble of the bone marrow) that you only find in high-end Hakata shops. It was rich, creamy, and carried a deep umami funk without ever being overly greasy. The Hits * Black Tonkotsu: The roasted garlic oil (mayu) added a smoky, dark complexity that ruined all other garlic ramens for me. * God Fire: For those who like to sweat, this offered the perfect balance of heat without sacrificing the integrity of the pork flavor. * The Karaage: Genuinely some of the best fried chicken in the area. Massive, juicy thigh meat with a shattering, thin crust and that addictive spicy mayo on the side. * Customization: I loved that they let you pick your noodle firmness. While waiting, there were chairs and a table outside with a couple menus for us to look at ahead so we were ready to order by the time we were seated. Menus and a carafe of iced water was brought out immediately. We asked to order right away as my boys and their friends were hungry and we were in between hockey games for a tournament. There's good lunch deal to add house rolls for $4.95 more or a specialty roll for $7.95 to any ramen We ordered the following; 1. Tonkotsu ramen w/ house salmon roll: I tasted the broth for this. Its a light creamy and flavorful broth. Not salty. 2. Spicy Tonkotsu x 2 w/ house salmon rolls: I tasted the broth for this and it's spicier than the usual spicy tonkatsu I eat in San Jose. Perfect for my spicy preference. One of the 13yo drank the entire bowl of broth and the other 2 almost finished their broth. 3. Habanero Miso w/ Angry Tail: This was hubby's. The broth is very good but it's too spicy for me to enjoy it. 4. Black Ramen: This bowl was for me. I really like this broth flavor alot but wish it was spicy like the spicy tonkatusu. Overall, all the broths were very rich and well flavored, not salty. The noodles were cooked just right, firm.with a nice crunch when you bite into it. The amount of bean sprouts and wood ear mushrooms was just right. The half soft boil egg was perfect but the 3 slices of char xiu pork could taste better. It was bland and was not soft enough as it did not easily break when you bite into it. As for the sushi rolls, It was pretty decent for the price you are paying to add to your ramen order. The service was good as there was only 2 staff running the floor. They were quick to assist us with more water and napkins. We will definitely return in the future if we are in town and craving ramen/sushi combo.
