Had a nice experience here! The ramen tasted good, but was not the best in my opinion - the broth was salty enough, but lacking something to make it more flavorful. The gyoza was ok. For the most part, I felt that the price point is much higher than some other ramen restaurants in the nearby South OC area. Their veggie ramen broth was creamy and very flavorful. We got 'Spicy' (the last being 'Very Spicy'). Quite a few veggies in the ramen but would have loved it if it came with a few more like bamboo shoots and corn. You can order extras of those. The spinach noodles in the ramen had a very nice chewy texture. The ramen was topped with greens which became soggy and killed the texture of the dish. But overall, would definitely go back for the ramen. Their Brussels sprouts tempura comes with soy sauce and matcha salt - a very nice addition to the dish that really paired well. Really a 4.5 star. Came on New Years Eve 2025. Firstly, the tonkatsu pork belly ramen was great, if not excellent! Noodles were nicely al dente and the broth was rich and satisfying. Toppings were also plentiful and fresh. However, the DX version was a bit stingy with just 1 additional thick cut pork belly on top. At least, when compared with the DX chicken paitan, which came with a whole leg quarter on a sizzling teppanyaki! Yet, as amazing as the chicken quarter looked, the taste of the leg itself was a bit of a letdown too. The sweet ponzu sauce was lathered generously on top, but the meat itself didn't have flavor, so I guess it wasn't marinated in it. And it was also a bit overcooked. So based on that, I'd say neither of the DX options were worth it. I must reiterate though, that both ramens themselves WERE worth it. And worth revisits. The soft egg was absolutely perfectly executed. One of the best I've seen. And a whole egg at that, not just a half. We also received stellar customer service. Our server Claudia was attentive and very courteous! I also liked how spacious it is, unlike the usual hole in the wall styles of a Japanese-run ramenya. All the best to this place! read more

Today I visited this place for lunch with my wife. I used to visit original Marufuku located in San Francisco Japantown and it was awesome. This place also awesome as original place. I sat inside by the chairs waiting for her to call us or acknowledge us, but she kept herself busy. We then saw other people who had checked in after us just tell the hostess they're going to just sit in the empty seats in the restaurant. The restaurant wasn't full, so we thought we'd be seated quickly, so when she sat people who came in after us, we realized they don't even check the yelp check in, you just need to ask them to be seated. When we finally got seated, nobody came to get our orders too. We waited for a while until we were able to flag down a servers attention to finally put in our orders. The ramen itself was mediocre, definitely better ramen spots in Irvine. The broth was a little too salty and the ramen noodles itself are thin, not your typical thicker chewy ramen noodles. They have excellent gluten-free noodles, ample choices of food and drink, and pleasant service. Their prices sit in a completely standard range for this type of food and are not too expensive. A bowl of Ramen with gluten-free noodles for one and a bottle of iced unsweetened green tea was in the $20s. The space is small, but very clean. There is an open air kitchen, so you do have restaurant noise so come here if you are looking for a relaxed, contemporary setting not a fancy dining setting. We started with the tempura brussels sprouts. I've been on such a brussels kick lately and these were a delightfully tasty way to enjoy them. They were hot and crispy and easy to eat off the skewer and came with a side of matcha sea salt? I can't say I was the biggest fan of this but it was fun to try. Best ramen in South OC. We ordered the Hakata Tonkotsu and it was so scrumptious. The broth was rich and flavorful. They also made sure to include a lot of different toppings such as the egg, mushrooms, green onions and sprouts. The shrimp tempura buns were also delicious and the shrimp inside was crispy. It's surprising to see a ramen restaurant that is not stingy about making a quality bowl of ramen in this economy. Just because of that, I would say that this restaurant beats all the other well-known local ramen restaurants in this area and I would actually go out of my way to come here for ramen. Upon setting up table I don't see there is standardized set up such as chop stick and napkin in addition to side plate. Even after serving the appetizer the octopus leg. The rice bowl is cute for $8 and tasted fine (note that portion is like kids meal) While my Hakata Tonkotsu ramen, the broth is super rich in flavor and medium spicy is good for someone who just wants to have a little kick and it comes with whole egg which I think it is quite generous.
