I stopped by downtown Berkeley's newest lunchtime eatery and tried the vegetarian "Denemon" sushi burrito. It was quite good (although I could have done without the large, reflective silver box that it was delivered in). I ate it while listening to Styx - the perfect combo. The prices are fair, the service was fast, and they even handed me a complimentary sugary sweet beverage topped with crumbled Oreo cookies on the way out. Perhaps the only thing missing is a few more vegetarian options (although with the build-your-own option there should be plenty to choose from for the more creative vegetarians... I'm a bit of a dullard so build-your-own type things tend to confuse me). read more

Awesome idea! Never heard of such a thing. I LOVE THIS PLACE (B1 - don't eat raw anything). Love how fresh the seaweed is. I love the cabbage, carrots and all. Could use more avocado tho and less of the imitation crab. ;-) Brought a friend and she loved it as well. I'd suggest walking. Parking is hassle. read more

A novel idea (Sushi in burrito form) that lives up to the hype. It basically is an unsliced large sushi roll but is jam-packed with seafood (I got spicy tuna, ahi tuna) for $10 - Seriously felt like a steal considering how much good seafood was inside. Also just a neat concept and a fun place to bring out-of-towners for something different. They did not have ginger (surpising!) to put on top of the burrito but I suppose they are trying to stick more with the burrito theme. Would recommend. read more

Sushi Secrets is quite good if you select the right ingredients. So, choose wisely.

The horseradish in their sushiritos is strong and overpowers the flavor of the other ingredients and it's not that filling but otherwise this place is alright. read more

The sushi burritos were decent...I would say 3.5/5 stars. Just went back for the third time to try out the ahi tuna bowl. The tuna chunks were not fresh, the tuna was drenched in korean bbq sauce (which was disgusting), and there was no brown rice option. Was not a happy camper today. 1/5 stars for the bowl. The redeeming factor is that the staff are generally polite and helpful, and the food is relatively cheap. read more

Food was great, but really writing this because of the staff. Incredibly friendly, sweet, and accommodating. I ran into an issue with my payment and all staff were so patient with me while I tried to resolve the problem. tastes okay but was expecting more for "sushi burritos", just a big maki roll, something mom would yell at me for making.

first time getting a suhi burrito and it was everything i wanted. i did the make your own with salmon and crab with garlic sauce and unagi sauce. so good! service was a little stand off ish but i enjoyed my meal which is fine with me. really good! read more

I enjoyed the milk teas here, extremely cute presentation. As for the sushi burritos, the first time I came here, the tuna chunks were too big to eat and I couldn't bite through them so the second time I visited, I ordered a sushi burrito with shrimp tempura which was great. I would've preferred going a little lighter on the sauce with a drizzle, but it did taste great. This place is like the Subway for Japanese rolls and so you can DIY your big rolls. Price is reasonable and the food tastes okay.

To begin, there is a slight foot aroma that waffs through the air at sushirrito. I ordered B3 because it has salmon and tuna which in theory sounds delicious because it combines my two favorite sashimi pieces into one roll. However, the sashimi quality is noticeably poor. The salmon was not a vibrant orange color which transcended to the equal lack of flavor and I think the tuna and salmon counteract each other in terms of taste. Towards the end of burrito half, the insides started pooping out the bottom because of the superfluous amount of sauce. This would not have been super annoying but then I had to ask for a fork since they don't provide forks at the little counter and who wants to interact with humans for a second time? I would not go back because I would rather pay for a more enjoyable sushi experience. But to end on a positive note, the people that work there are sweet and knowledgeable of the menu! read more

Sushi burritos are great if you need a quick sushi fix. The price is reasonable, the portion is good. Each burrito is loaded with fish, sauce and some sides (carrots, corn, etc). The layer of rice is thin. However, the quality of the fish isn't the best that's why they cover it with so much sauce. Staff here is friendly and efficient. Do you want a quick sushi fix? This isn't a place I would necessarily bring a group of friends or a date. But if you are busy and do not want to prepare food and are craving sushi, there aren't many other alternatives as good and unique as Sushi Secrets. They build sushi burritos right infront of you in a matter of 180 seconds. I ordered the B1 and it was quite tasty. I was originally skeptical that one sushi burrito would fill me up as I like to devour sushi and usually order 4 rolls, but it definitely did the trick without me feeling too stuffed. Great for a quick lunch or a dinner to go, just don't expect it to be a great sushi spot for sit down. They understand who they are and what their clients want. read more

This place didn't seem like it would be that great, but I assumed wrong! It's like chipotle, but with sushi! It tastes amazing and I would recommend everyone to try it! The people who work there are super nice, especially the chef! We had a large group the other day go in and he was very respectful and make sure that we got everything that we wanted and needed to have a pleasant stay. Just had lunch here for the first time. The staff is incredible friendly and was very quick to finish my order and hand deliver it to my table. I ordered a sushi burrito and it was super tasty! Takes some effort to find the right burrito for you, but they are great at customizing it to your liking. Reasonably priced tastiness.

Came the other day and ordered 2 sushi burritos. The tall dark haired guy with the backwards cap was wearing one glove then took his bare hand and stuffed his fingers into the burrito while wrapping them both. Before that, some fish fell on the dirty nasty counter and he tossed it back into the food. He was also literally throwing the avocado back into the tray like he was so pissed to be working. Then finally he grabs this nasty dirty rag that was covered in old masago and straight dirt and wipes the counter with that same bare hand and yeah the same counter the food fell onto and he leaves the rag sitting there while making someone else's food. I tried talking to the cashier about it but she barely understood me. Her answer was "oh we change the rag everyday" and then when she pointed to him and said "why only one glove?" He immediately let out a long sigh and offered to make the food over. I just walked out. That's nasty AF dude. You shouldn't be working around food you disgusting prick you're probably making people sick. read more
