Update... Honestly I came here and ordered the tempura bagel roll. It comes with eel sauce drizzled on top. I asked if it can be put on the side because sometimes they make it too sweet and put too much. So the cashier wanted to charge me 1 dollar for sauce that comes on my roll to have it on the side. My friend and I went here following seeing a movie. This was our first experience. We ordered House Sake, edamame, California roll, Angel Roll, JB Roll, Miami Heat with Eel Sauce. There are many offerings of premium sake, expertly described to tailor to your preference on that particular day. We were pretty hungry, so we went over the moderately sized menu and chose our favorites. There is a Happy Hour, but we got there a little late for it, so we settled in to some Japanese beer and hot sake and put in our food order. There was also a large selection of wines available and on display in quite an elegant manner, but we kept it simple, festive, and coming all night long. Our server Betsi was super attentive and made sure we were well taken care of, even though it started to get a little crowded. I ordered the Dolphin Roll and the very interesting Calle Ocho Roll. My folks had the Caliente Roll, JB Roll and the Salmon Skin Hand Roll. Everything was outstanding!!! This was also some of the best wasabi I have had in a long time, strong but flavorful, bringing those good tears to your eyes. We were having such a good time, that we ordered a Vanessa Roll, while we finished our drinks. We had an incredible experience and are planning on returning soon. For context, I'm a frequent eater of sushi from cheap hole in the wall places, lunch spots to high end restaurants. This location has extremely average quality food for the price. I've ordered a few times from this location however each time there is always something off with the freshness/consistency of the food. Today's sushi had way too much rice wine vinegar. I absolutely love their food. I've only ordered take-out. My order has always been accurate, ready within the time frame estimated and the staff has been polite. Until recently however, I was asked to stay outside and wait on my order. Why? I've never seen a restaurant ask a customer to wait on their food outside until it was ready. It wasn't busy inside, only two tables had people dining in. Even a local pizza restaurant I've gone to for over 15 years with room for only two people to wait on their food hasn't ever asked me to wait on my food outside.
