I note they have $4 plates on Monday and Friday nights for the regular Sushi options, like prawn nigiri, chicken katsu etc. However with some other interesting options like prosciutto and fig. They have other interesting menu options from the kitchen which I was very keen to try. I ordered the "Katafi prawn", a large prawn freshly fried with stringy crispy coating and salt and herbs atop. This was delicious. There were two in the serving. I then got the prawns and honey chips which was lightly fried prawns with a slightly spicy sauce and vegetable chips with a touch of honey. Again, delicious. I also ordered then salmon jalepeno which was thinly sliced pieces of sashimi on top of cucumber with a jalepeno sauce and jalepenos. Not spicy, but tasted very good. I also got an amazing "harmony tartare" (salmon belly, scallop, avocado and wasabi citrus dressing) YUM !! I got a dessert to take home for when I wasn't full anymore and OMG amazing, a coco pop/mars bar style Slice with a caramel log, white chocolate and popcorn. phenomenal. The theming was like a normal sushi train, with some really cool "sushi fish" lights. They also offer take away and delivery. The man Serving was lovely and the other employees busily working at the back. I loved everything I tried and would be keen to go back and try more!! What a find.

The miso soup would have been better if it was hotter. There were at least three items we tried to order from the menu that the server told us had been removed or were unavailable, so they need to update their menu. I will likely go back again and hope they work out the kinks by then.

There was a substantial queue forming outside the shop, as people longingly gazed in to see the delicious fishy morsels circulate on the conveyor belt. I was relieved, however, that the queue was only to eat-in, and if I wanted to take-away, I could take my pick of sushi now. So that is what I chose to do. Being a bit of a sushi novice, I didn't really know what to do or what to choose, as all these little dishes whizzed past. Luckily, a charming waitress was there to help me - she told me what each of the delicate parcels contained, and which her favourites were. OK, I thought, flexing my fingers, what shall I grab?? I had a budget of $11 (all that was in my pocket), but I was amazed that I could afford a bundle of edamame beans, six mini tempura chicken rolls and six mini salmon and avocado rolls. A feast for lunch. The sushi was delicious - I particularly enjoyed the salmon and avocado. I think next time, I would be tempted to join the queue and sit down in the restaurant. They had some delicious-looking tempura asparagus and some tuna rolls that I would love to try. Visiting this restaurant is therefore a matter of timing - make sure you join the queue before you get too ravenous.

However, my vegetarian friend loves sushi from here. So it must depend on our tastes. In the late afternoon, they do sushi happy hour and you can get sushi box or sushi roll as discount price. I wasn't expecting a spectacular meal, given that it is just a little sushi joint inside a shopping centre, but there were a fair few people sitting down for a late lunch so I assumed that was a positive. I chose a pre-sliced, small box of chicken teriyaki rolls with shredded carrot and a bit of lettuce, which was only $5 for eight pieces. If you sit down to eat there, you can pour yourself a little pot of soy sauce from the counter, which I'm pretty sure was quite watered down. The sushi wasn't that great - the chicken was tasty but dry, and the rice was hard to chew on, like it had been sitting out for a while. It wasn't horrible, but there is certainly far better sushi available, even from takeaway places like this

What a find this place is and it is conveniently located across the road from central station! We arrived for dinner at 7pm and took up a seat around the train where you can watch the dishes being made before your eyes. All of the sushi items from the train are a work of art, and we recommend ordering the mixed plate which has everything from crystal bay prawn to wagyu beef to sea-eel sushi. These were delicately presented and each had a unique taste that left you wanting more! The sea eel sushi is the owners favourite and once you taste it you will see why. Make sure you order some of the other dishes outside of the sushi and sashimi offerings. The cold soba and salmon bowl and the beef tataki were standouts but if you are a tofu fan do not go past the agedashi tofu. For those that want something a little more adventurous try the steamed egg custard with prawn and soybean - a truly unique dish. The staff are extremely friendly and be sure to chat to the amazing chef as you watch him work his magic to create these delightful dishes. The prices are much cheaper than what you would expect! You will soon add gou sushi to your list of go to places, just like we have!

These were served with some fresh wasabi and ginger. - Agedashi Tofu: fried silken tofu served with an umami tsuyu sauce! We were greeted by the lovely Fan who asked us about our food preferences and pointed out some of the popular dishes on the menu. She also suggested some awesome Sake choices, while also educating us on some of the finer points of taste and the process of making it!

A step up from the local Sushi Train experience, the restaurant offers the familiar 'sushi on a plate' going round a track experience or you can enjoy the a la carte dining experience featuring a contemporary Japanese menu infused with traditional Japanese Izakaya dishes with Western ingredients & modern taste seated at a table. I advise you to make a reservation as I t can be very busy 6pm- 8pm Th, Fri,Sat. If you walk in without a reservation, you can expect to wait for about five to ten minutes to be seated. Joyce the manager usually welcomes you and organised your seating. The food choice is varied and easily ordered by the attentive wait staff. The Sushi plates on the rotating track are very good value for money. I like how you can order freshly made choices. There are so many to choose from! Sashimi- Salmon, Tuna, King Fish, Scampi, Scallops or Sushi favourites like inside out rolls - Salmon Tobiki, spicy soft shell crab, crumbled chicken, spicy tuna and seared scallops. Hot dishes are also available. Freshly fried or steamed Pork Gyoza, Karaage Chicken, Takoyaki Balls and Crab Claws. Salads - Soy Beans, Seaweed and mixed green salads add to your meal experience. The main a la carte menu choices are also my favourite. Plenty of choices - Tempura prawn,Tempura vegetables, Tora Karaage (chicken), Chicken or Waggu Beef Teriyaki. All dishes are served with rice. If you have room for it at the end you must try the Boom Alaska - Pandan meringue, green tea ice cream, sponge cake and Pandan curd. A mouth watering treat! I know some reviewers are saying this is NOT true Japanese cuisine but 'look alike food' created by Koreans and Chinese. Well I'm telling you - it doesn't have to be made by Japanese to taste like real Japanese food. Food ingredients are the same regardless of who makes it! End of story.
