Salmon Sashimi with Avocado

Ok seriously what took me so long to come here!!! Especially being a sushi LOVER!!! Have to say the sashimi OH My words, melted in my mouth!!!!! The Crispy Rice, can't believe is as good as the one at my favorite place Bond Sushi NYC. We also ordered Rainbow Roll very good! Last so nice my guys got me dessert! I'm so glad it's so close I mite just have to come every week!!!!

The service was well mannered and attentive, the food was delicious from the main course to the dessert, it's a very chill place to have a nice meal.

If you are looking for quality food in a laid back environment, Sushi Republic is the place for you! I have been coming here for a few years now. I try other sushi places now and then but I keep coming back to Sushi Republic!! The main reason of course is the food! From the rolls to the poke bowl to even the hot dishes, Sushi Republic does not disappoint. In terms of service and ambiance, what I like about Sushi Republic is that it does not try to be a fancy upscale place even though it's located in Bal Harbor area. It is an everyday local neighborhood spot with delicious food. It feels like home! The service is always good. Some days slower than others but never too long. The wait staff is very attentive and kind. My favorite dishes are crispy rice, shown here in picture! This is an appetizer that can be shared but it's so good, I never do!! I also like their poke bowl. It has such a variety of ingredients that compliment which ever fish you choose! For hot dishes, the chicken katsu is so good as well as the chicken fried rice. There's really nothing bad here. Remember if you are looking for laid back casual dining with tasty food, this is the place for you!!

Beef scallion (not a fan)

- Really liked the sushi and the service was good too - Don't get the beef scallion. It's just a slice of beef wrapped around a lot of scallion - We enjoyed the supa roll and the crispy rice is my favourite

This is a good sushi spot, but please don't order the beef scallion appetizer. First time I saw this one on the menu at a Japanese restaurant so decided to try it and omg I hated it haha, but it's not their fault, overall no frills sushi spot.

Oyster shot. Well worth the cheap price of just $3.75.

Great little hole in the wall style restaurant. They have a lot of stuff on the menu that you won't find anywhere else, and Chef Yuki is an artist. I look forward to visiting again soon! Update October 2018: Yuki is indeed an artist! Was able to catch him there and holy smokes do I miss when he was closer to home! We always order Omakase and he did not disappoint. Everything was fantastic and while the sake selection is not extensive, what they do have available is fantastic and not overly priced.

Just feeling artist tonight ;);)

20 years I've been coming to this place I never had disappointment. We don't need to go to this extremely expensive sushi restaurant in Miami.

Awful sushi but smiles abound cause the service was good!
Danny S.

How did they get all those stars? The staff and service were exceptional but this had to be the worst sushi I have had in my entire life!! We left half on the table and the staff didn't even ask why. Honestly maybe it was the night - it happens, but publix Sushi is more edible and publix is gross! We were all so disappointed in the quality and taste. Sadly we will not go back.

Absolutely phenomenal meal from start to finish!…read more Service was great I ordered a Coke Zero and as soon as she opened the can she heard how flat it sounded and took it and brought me a new one right away. We ordered the crispy tuna rice, dynamite shrimp, truffle salmon roll, and beef noodles and every single dish delivered. The crispy tuna rice was perfectly crunchy on the outside with melt-in-your-mouth tuna on top, balanced beautifully with just the right amount of sauce. Easily one of the best bites of the night. The dynamite shrimp were addictive crispy, juicy, and coated in a creamy, spicy-sweet sauce that had just enough kick without overpowering the shrimp. A little hesitant at first being almost $30 but it was worth it! The truffle salmon roll was rich and buttery. The truffle flavor was subtle but elevated the salmon perfectly without being too heavy. Super fresh and beautifully presented. And the beef noodles were comforting and packed with flavor. The noodles were perfectly chewy, the beef was tender, and the sauce tied everything together with a deep, savory richness. On top of the amazing food, the presentation was gorgeous and the atmosphere was warm and stylish perfect for a date night or dinner with friends. Can't wait to come back and try more of the menu.

The setting in Bal Harbour is beautiful, very polished but still relaxed. It's definitely the kind of place you go for a nice dinner where you want things to feel a little elevated without being stuffy. Service was solid overall--attentive and professional, though at times it felt a bit rushed, like they were trying to keep the pace moving more than letting you fully enjoy the experience. Food-wise, there's a lot to love. The sushi was fresh and well-executed, and some dishes really stood out with great flavor and presentation. That said, a couple of items felt a bit underwhelming compared to the price point--good, but not quite memorable. Portions also lean on the smaller side, so it can add up quickly. All in all, it's a great spot with a cool vibe and very good food. Not flawless, but definitely worth going--especially if you're in the area and want a stylish dinner with consistently good quality.

The service was great -- friendly, fast, and patient with my very serious happy hour ordering strategy. Food-wise, there were some real winners. The tuna quality is excellent (like, "I might start pretending I'm a sushi expert" level). The BBQ skewers were delicious, and the run rice was amazing. I would happily order those again and again. Now... not everything was love at first bite. The fried mushrooms and the chicken skewer just didn't do it for me. Not terrible, just not something I'd fight my friends over. Drinks during happy hour are good, but a little on the sweet side -- I had to double check there was actually alcohol in there. The watermelon drink is probably the best one, but definitely ask for low sugar unless you want dessert in a glass. Overall, great spot for weekend happy hour, great ambiance, good sushi, and solid service. I'll definitely be back... mostly for the tuna and those BBQ skewers.

Dear Hillstine Management,…read more I'm writing to share my disappointment with our recent visit to Hillstine for a relaxing dinner and a birthday celebration, which unfortunately turned into a very unpleasant experience. From the beginning, we had an issue with the sun shining directly into our faces. We asked if we could either close the blinds or move to another table. The manager on duty, whose name I believe was Hanna, was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. She gave us a hard time about closing the blinds and refused to move us, even though there were clearly empty seats available. To make things worse, most of the blinds were broken. When we tried to escalate the concern, the general manager, Avery Colgan, didn't seem to care about what we had to say. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional and disrespectful--especially disappointing for what was supposed to be a special celebration. I would appreciate it if someone higher up in management could contact me directly to discuss this matter further. I hope you take this feedback seriously so that other customers don't have to go through a similar experience.

We started with the hamachi, which was beautifully balanced with truffle-ponzu, jalapeño, wakame, cucumber, carrots, masago, and just the right touch of heat. The spicy edamame with chili garlic sauce was addictive and came out hot and perfectly seasoned. For rolls, we ordered the Crunchy Joy (shrimp tempura, chopped crabstick, tempura flakes, topped with avocado, yellow chili sauce, and eel sauce), which had such a satisfying texture and flavor combo, and the spicy hamachi roll, which was fresh, flavorful, and well-executed without being overpowering. One of the surprises of the night was the salmon burger with fries -- genuinely so good. The salmon patty was juicy, the avocado portion was generous, and the dressing tied everything together really nicely. We also tried their ramen, which is new to the menu, and it did not disappoint. The broth was deeply flavorful and comforting, with a soft-boiled egg, edamame, and mushrooms. You can tell a lot of thought went into it. We finished with the biscoff cake, which was the perfect ending to the meal. The restaurant itself is modern, clean, and inviting, with a lovely outdoor patio option as well. This has been one of my top go-to spots to bring my family, so it was disappointing to have a different experience this time. We ordered a variety of dishes, including some of our usual favorites. I got the spicy edamame, which unfortunately seemed a bit overcooked--the beans were much softer than I prefer. My daughter ordered a chicken dish that ended up being mostly breading with very little chicken inside. I also ordered my usual salmon teriyaki, but this time the sauce tasted overcooked, almost burnt, which made it difficult to enjoy. I even had my daughter and her boyfriend try it to make sure it wasn't just me, and they both agreed. That said, not everything missed. The service was amazing. My daughter liked the miso soup. The Crunchy Joy roll (I believe that's the name) was very good, and the deep-fried pork gyoza was amazing as always. Overall, I was very disappointed since this place has consistently been one of my favorites. I'm hoping this was just an off day and that my next visit is back to the quality I'm used to.
