This is a nice, convenient place to get some good sushi. It's a fast-casual approach that feels like a chain, but is actually well done. There's plenty of seating and an entrance both on the street side and the parking lot side (ordering is by the parking lot side). You can order at the counter, or from your table by using the QR code that is designated for your table. The menu is huge -- there are so many rolls (one reason to order from your table so you're not standing there staring at the menu). I ended up deciding on spring rolls (nice and crispy and tasty with the dual dipping sauces), salmon sashimi (buttery and fresh), Monkey Nut Roll (crabmeat, avocado, cucumber, eel sauce and peanuts), and the Firecracker Salmon roll (salmon, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, eel sauce, wasabi mayo, and scallions). Complete with a nice serving of wasabi and ginger. The Firecracker Salmon roll was amazing -- a deep fried roll, but the salmon was perfectly rare and melt-in-your-mouth good. We came to celebrate our anniversary with some sushi and we were not disappointed! We got a 12 roll combo and everything was absolutely delicious. I loved the Cali cheester, blazing redbird, sweet potato with avocado and eel sauce and crunchy Cali rolls, but everything we tried was delicious. My husband really enjoyed the rice krispy and don goyo rolls. Our food came out pretty quickly, especially given how much we ordered. Service was great. Inside is comfortable, clean and well lit. When I tell you I was never a big fan of Sushi at first, I always called it out for being a bad food, I denied it, I closed my mind to it. Sushi Primos changed my life. For sushi in a small, landlocked Midwestern town it's not terrible, but I probably won't go there again. They do have a huge menu, but the majority of the sushi is which is not actually sushi. My boyfriend and I split the like spicy something and it was pretty good. The other one that we had was only OK. It took an extremely long time to get our food, but it seemed like most of the orders were online as most of the sushi in this town. I found it largely with very small pieces of fish. I've never dined in at Primos, so this is based on food, value, and order accuracy alone. That said, this is a pretty solid spot that is basically on campus. I thought the claims of La Bamba having great sushi were incredulous, until I tried it. Primos is the same way. Really inexpensive combos of 2 or 3 maki rolls that are creative and tasty. My order has been correct EVERY time. Kinda wish they'd label which rolls are in which container, especially when ordering for multiple people. This place deserves all the local love. This and Kochi are my go-to spots in town for sushi now. read more

I visited Sushi Primos with my daughter after seeing rave reviews. I went with the mindset that it was 'cheap sushi', so my expectations weren't particularly high. We visited around 5 pm, when there were a few customers seated and other people coming in to pick up takeout orders. The restaurant is clean, well-staffed, and has an open, spacey feel. There was nobody attending it and the staff behind the cooking area just kept looking our way and not saying anything. We stood there for a bit and then my friend started to order her food on the screen. Then someone from behind the cooking area said that someone would be there to help us in a moment. A short while later a gentleman showed up and apologized about the wait and took our orders. He had a great attitude we were all laughing about us doing our own orders. Both were absolutely fabulous for only $11. You cannot beat that price! The order did take a little for them to craft (around 20 mins), but it's worth the wait as it was so so delicious. We waited inside and it had a nice ambiance, semi low lighting with windows and cozy booths and no noisy TV's. A pretty intimate spot to enjoy with friends and family.
