When I tell you I was never a big fan of Sushi at first, I always called it out for being a bad food, I denied it, I closed my mind to it. Sushi Primos changed my life. It showed me to move around with an open mindset , not just when it came to political or social topics but food too. Sushi Primos sparked my love for trying new foods and made me a huge fan of Sushi. The staff is so amazing and you can tell they love their job. The establishment is so properly set up and the vibes in the building are quite immaculate. The tables and the decor really take you for a trip, putting you in a different setting with your food that turns this from a regular outing to much more of an experience. Was looking for a nice sushi place around here on my visit. Stumbled on this place. Sushi primo exceeded my expectations for a place in lil ole Normal IL. As a first timer the ordering process caught me off guard. Before you are seated u must order ur food and luckily there was no one behind me bc it took b me a good 8-10 min to order and decide what rolls I wanted. lol the lady at the front desk was really sweet and helpful. After my search I decided on 3 rolls for $14 that was a nice bargain. Panther Roll, rock and roll and the spicy Latina roll. Sat down and the wait was pretty quick. And the place was very clean with comfortable seating. Rolls came out and was a pleasant dining experience. The rolls and fish were very fresh and tasty. And for the price it's unbeatable. read more

For sushi in a small, landlocked Midwestern town it's not terrible, but I probably won't go there again. They do have a huge menu, but the majority of the sushi is which is not actually sushi. My boyfriend and I split the like spicy something and it was pretty good. The other one that we had was only OK. It took an extremely long time to get our food, but it seemed like most of the orders were online as most of the sushi in this town. I found it largely with very small pieces of fish. Just average sushi but it served its purpose today. The sushi rice was just too moist and fell apart when you picked up a piece of nigiri. Not much flavor in the sauces. I've never dined in at Primos, so this is based on food, value, and order accuracy alone. That said, this is a pretty solid spot that is basically on campus. I thought the claims of La Bamba having great sushi were incredulous, until I tried it. Primos is the same way. Really inexpensive combos of 2 or 3 maki rolls that are creative and tasty. My order has been correct EVERY time. Kinda wish they'd label which rolls are in which container, especially when ordering for multiple people. This place deserves all the local love. This and Kochi are my go-to spots in town for sushi now. read more

Good prices, mediocre at best sushi. They do have tables to sit down and eat at, but you can also place an order online to go or eat in.

Delightfully surprised, rolls were delicious as well as the Rangoons. Service was quick as it was snowing out. Ambiance is very much fast food inspired. read more

I visited Sushi Primos with my daughter after seeing rave reviews. I went with the mindset that it was 'cheap sushi', so my expectations weren't particularly high. We visited around 5 pm, when there were a few customers seated and other people coming in to pick up takeout orders. The restaurant is clean, well-staffed, and has an open, spacey feel. The menu is extensive, so many choices are almost overwhelming, but I picked two deep-fried rolls, and my daughter picked a standard roll with a side of edamame. Feeding 2 people sushi for less than $25 seems impossible, but the food came fairly quickly and was better than I expected. read more

I'll start by saying I love sushi, and I've had it from all over the U.S., including Hawaii, so maybe I'm a bit picky however this place just didn't hit the mark. Right when you walk in, you better know what you want because you order at the counter, and they bring the food to your table. Not the best setup if you're a first-timer like I was, especially with 20+ sushi options to choose from. The menu was kind of confusing, too. It said 'shrimp' and 'shrimp tempura,' but no matter what, everything with shrimp turned out to be shrimp tempura. The sushi itself fell apart when I tried to pick it up, and honestly, it tasted like nothing. Let me start by saying we will definitely be back.... However, my first experience there was definitely odd. I was with a couple of friends and when we walked in there was a "order here" area. There was nobody attending it and the staff behind the cooking area just kept looking our way and not saying anything. We stood there for a bit and then my friend started to order her food on the screen. Then someone from behind the cooking area said that someone would be there to help us in a moment. A short while later a gentleman showed up and apologized about the wait and took our orders. He had a great attitude we were all laughing about us doing our own orders. I ordered the 2 roll combo: CRUNCHY CRAB ROLL (pictured left; ingredients are Crabmeat, Avocado, Cucumber, Topped with Japanese Mayo, Tempura Crunch and Masago) and EXTRACADO ROLL (pictured right; ingredients are Crabmeat, Avocado, Cucumber, and Cream Cheese, Topped with Avocado, Spicy Mayo, and Tempura Crunch). Both were absolutely fabulous for only $11. You cannot beat that price! The order did take a little for them to craft (around 20 mins), but it's worth the wait as it was so so delicious. We waited inside and it had a nice ambiance, semi low lighting with windows and cozy booths and no noisy TV's. A pretty intimate spot to enjoy with friends and family. The lady at the front was kind and quick and the man who handed me my takeout order was polite. 10/10 this is my new favorite sushi spot at ISU! /5 read more

I have lived in Bloomington-Normal for 18+ years and this is by far the best sushi in town!!! The food came out fast and fresh! The prices are extremely reasonable... 3 rolls for $13 and two pieces of nigiri for $1.25 is insane!
