I stopped by this place because I was in the mood for sushi and omg I was not disappointed. The food here was delicious! And it is a buffet, so all you can eat was a plus! The staff was very attentive and friendly! Always making sure you were doing good. They have a sushi bar and a kitchen menu. Their was 5 of us and we only payed 110$. So safe to say the prices are reasonable. Overall my experience was great I would definitely be going back & definitely will recommend to others. P.S I would have to mention that most of the staff don't speak English fluently so I would say to have patience as they are trying to comprehend. read more

We ordered a large amount of sashimi from them Sunday night. When we got home we realized they forgot $15 worth of food from our take out order. When we called them they refused to refund us. After explaining the situation all they said was "ok sorry next time" and hung up on us. Idk what that means but there won't be one. I really wanted to like this place but it was not good. The sushi was not fresh. The waiters did not even let u finish your food before they were going over you and taking the dish off the table without asking if you were done. I hate giving bad reviews to businesses; but I think this one needs to be said. Sushi palace is located on central ave in Yonkers. The restaurant offers all you can eat buffet. We arrived here on a Thursday night hoping to get nice sushi. Upon entering, I noticed that the A.C. is not working because they have the front door propped open. Upon further investigation, I learned that the restaurant's cooling system hasn't been working since 2004. Regardless, we seated ourselves down. While browsing their menu, I quickly glanced at their sashimi a la cart... I ordered 6 pieces of fish; to my surprise, the portion are WAYYYY TOO SMALL!!! Sushi Palace, please STOP insulting your customers! If we are paying you money, we expect decent food! If you are to just serve us slop, I suggest you close your doors for good. Tried this restaurant for the first time today. The venue was clean and very modern. We were seated at a clean table and provided with a paper menu and a pencil. I asked the waitress how ordering works as I had never been there before, unfortunately our waitress did not speak any English. Apparently, you put a number (indicating the number of pieces) you would like next to the item you want on the paper menu. The service was good and the waitresses were very prompt and effective at removing used plates. The restaurant is all you can eat for about $20 a person Monday through Thursday. The menu has a variety items which include different Japanese appetizers, soups, hibachi style meals, and a good variety of sushi made to order. The restaurant also offered a variety of Japanese sake and domestic beer. Beers are $4 each. Sakes varied from $8-13.50 a bottle. Wine is also available. We ordered a plethora of items which included chicken on a stick, edamame, gyoza, shrimp tempura, seafood soup, shumai, California rolls and different types of sashimi, as well as noodles with shrimp and beef. I liked the hibachi because you can customize your dish with whichever items you like and the chef cooks the items In front of you. There is also a small salad bar available with mixed greens and dressing. We ended the meal with ice cream. The food was delicious, tasty and fresh. The appetizers are small portions which was nice because it left room to try multiple things on the menu without feeling stuffed. The sashimi portion is smaller than what you would get at a regular sushi restaurant and the sushi and rolls are heavily riced. We learned that the restaurant has a policy that if you have any left over food or "waste any food" you may be charged $10 additional to the bill. If you want to take your left overs home you will be charged an additional $10. If you're a sushi lover or fan of Japanese food, this place is a must try! read more

Rude, rude, and very rude. I usually go to Queens to satisfy my sushi cravings but had to resort to this one because I was too lazy to drive today. After a long hot day of shopping, I just wanted to sit down and enjoy my dinner - big disappointment. First of all, the AC in the restaurant was not working too well, so I wasn't even comfortable. Second, how do you expect people to enjoy your restaurant when your waiters are so rude? We got the female waiter (working night shift on Labor Day) - wish I got her name. From the beginning, it was already unpleasant to have her around. No smile, no greetings, rude attitude overall. She gave off the "don't talk to me" vibe. If you don't like people or talking to people, you're in the wrong industry, girl. I didn't even want to bother her. Besides the rude attitude and slow service, she was clearly not happy that we asked for the menu papers after the second time. (For those who are unfamiliar, we mark the food items that we want on the papers and then they bring you the food.) When we asked for the paper the third time, she very rudely said "okay," walked away, and said to her coworker "these four people are eating a lot." Dude, seriously? This is a buffet AND half of the food items that I ordered during the first and second round didn't even come out!!! You're trying to avoid bringing out the expensive items - that's not how you run a buffet business. If you don't have something that I marked down, just come and tell me that you cannot serve that specific item. Aside from the service, the food was nothing special. Like I mentioned before, they'll only bring out about 75% of what you ordered and hope that you don't notice. Although a buffet, they're trying to limit the amount of food you eat. The hibachi was extremely mushy and salty. The small dishes were sloppy and soggy. The best part was the sashimi, thankfully you didn't mess that up. But, we found a fly right under the one piece of sushi... that was disgusting... There are too many options in Yonkers to even consider Sushi Palace. I had a great experience at Sushi Palace in Queens so I thought I'd give this one a try, but big disappointment. Next time you want to talk smack about a customer, wait till they leave, it's smarter. So I'm a hibachi freak and this was not up to par to what I'm used to. Yes, it's an ayce sushi place. Yes, it does have decent prices and cheap for kids. But it's the little things that count... Like my waitress who was blatantly text messaging while walking toward my table, or texting some more while dropping the bill, or even texting some more while facing a wall. People would think she's sleeping because she looks like an idiot while texting facing a wall, (I took a photo too. Obvi she didn't know, her back was to the wall) Service was awful here. The only one who was decent was the manager, but hiring friends or family members who are going to give you the worst service is going to bring the business down! The appetizers were good, I had the shrimp tempura, gyozas, and shumai, all frozen packaged, delicious as anything fried could be. But sooo stingy on their sauces too. The hibachi part was the strangest and most disgusting of all. So you stand around this prep station, (which I'm sure little kids have picked their noses and grabbed a piece of broccoli, or sneezed on the salad bar), while I did this I waited during these isolated hours or no customers, finally a chef comes out and decided to turn on the grill. Not even kidding I waited about 10 minutes standing waiting on this horribly set up wannabe buffet line for some amateur chef to cook my meat awfully, especially with the grill not hot enough (not even the egg was cooking) and he threw the steak on it was this terrible looking grey color and tried to hand me raw shrimp. Impossible to love. Difficult to like. Very hard to hate. The $19.95 all you can eat dinner is a good deal, but not all of the food was worth even half that price. The place is Corky, and some things are lost in translation. One of them being a lock on the bathroom door the properly latches, or even just a privacy screen while you're sitting exposed on the toilet. My favourite touch was the lack of towels to dry your hands after washing. They only offer two beers: Sapporo and Bud Light. The Sapporo is only available in 22 ounces, for about $8. The service was nor horrible, but the 3 waitstaff who collectively took care of our group ran the gamut true very good very bad. We ordered 5 times, and only got served 3. Note - I am not a sushi expert. This is probably the best tasting sushi restaurant I've been to. Pro's: 1. Food was on point, for the most part. The crab rolls are a must as well (they come in individually). I usually order these whenever I go here. 2. There's always seatings available. I've never had to wait even if I came with a group of 7 people. 3. Cheap. It's like $22-$23 per person (with taxes) for a lot of food. Refills are free too. Con's: 1. They never brought out everything we've ordered. I suggest you order 3 or 4 food items at a time. If you order more they won't bring them all out. This goes for the appetizers and the sushi rolls. The more you order the less they bring, so order in small amounts at a time. 2. Hibachi grill was bland. The beef and chicken had no flavor. Just avoid it overall. 3. The service is not bad but last night we had a waitress that was rude. She was always rushing us and she had an attitude whenever we asked for the menu or refills. This place is racist, they clearly discriminate against african Americans... the waitress was inattentive to say the least. I had to practically beg her for napkins, kitchen menus, etc. The waitress literally stood posted over my shoulder grimacing at me as I ate my meal. I watched as she checked on the Caucasians patrons to ensure they were satisfied. I have never been so frustrated and dissatisfied with my dinning experience. My rating is one star as that is the lowest rating you can give. After our Son suggested Sushi Palace as one of our Bucket List Good Eats places to go, we decided to try it out, and since we were a party of seven, I made a dinner reservation for 5 PM on a Sunday Night. When we arrived, we were promptly seated and waited for two others in our party to arrive. My first observation was that, the walls in this newly opened AYCE restaurant were a little stark, and so, the overall atmosphere is kind uv sterile. But I wasn't there for the ambiance! Just good eats and as much as it would take to make me happy. I suspect that, over time, the owners will add the decor to develop the atmosphere. Anyway, getting down to the FOOD! Suffice it to say that, it's all GREAT! Since it's an AYCE fare, you can have both their Hibachi Offerings, as well as their Sushi, Sashimi, and Various Roll choices. They give you two menus to select from, and you can knock yourself out! While waiting, you can also go up to their self serve buffet area and get a plate of salad as well as their all-you-can eat peal and eat shrimp. In addition, you can also create a plate of items which the Hibachi Chef will cook right up for you. This was a great way to start, and my 92 year young Mother-In-Law has a love of Chicken Lo Mein and the Hibachi Chef understood her needs. She told all of us that, it was the best she ever had! Eventually, our GIANT PLATTER of assorted Sushi, Sashimi, and Assorted Rolls arrived at our table, and that was after some of our other appetizers and my favorite, Seafood Udon Soup. I had to ask for the HOT spicy red powder, and they brought that at my request. Since I love to critique, the only drawbacks I noticed were the lack of anticipating our needs from the waitress. For Example, she had not placed plates on our table, and only chop sticks and napkins. I'm a go to guy, so I jumped up to the Buffet area and grabbed 8 plates myself in anticipation and also had to ask for 4 forks since not everyone at our table uses chop sticks. After that, it was the usual request for more napkins, and they were doled out at only 3 at a time. Having said all of that, Tony, who is one of the owners, along with his older brother Jayson, were working the room and constantly asking us if "Everything was Good", to which we had to reply; DELICIOUS!, and it was. Our tab worked out to $28 per person with Beverage, Sales Tax, and Gratuity. I can't speak for the others in our party, but given the fact that most Sushi averages $2.50 per serving, and I ate around 20 pieces, plus Sashimi and all of the other good stuff, I was a very happy camper! We have frequented other great Japanese/Chinese AYCE Buffets to include Minado's and King Buffet, but Sushi Palace in Yonkers, is a definite GO-TO-PLACE in our list of FAVORITE PLACES to go-to now! My family of four sat and the waitress gave us this two pieces of menu. The menu has NO mention that it is for buffet purposes. Without any explanations, we ordered three shrimp tempura and two udon soup (kids portion). When I noticed there is NO Hibachi show, I asked for the check. The waitress told me $120 for four buffet. We have been to all kind of buffets, the wait staff always explains all the food options. This wait staff did NOT do any of that, service is horrible like they don't exist. When I asked for adjust on the bill especially my daughter just ate one bowl of mini Udon. They refused !! I considered the $120 Price a donation since the restaurant needed more than me but again I hope it is worth this bad reviews. Absolutely NOT kid-friendly. Don't give this place your hard earned money. The sushi is below average, the hot food is mediocre at best. The service is absolutely terrible. They don't come over to check on you whatsoever, you have to flag someone down to get their attention IF they happen to notice you. I have enjoyed going to sushi palace for years. Today was a shocker and full of disappointment with the hibachi chef today - 3/5/2020. He is not friendly like the past chefs. I felt like he has no cooking experience as my food tonight was dry and almost burnt and had no flavor/ I looked past all these things because like I said I have enjoyed coming here for years. But what I have to review today is his mannerism. He kept pushing the tip jar in your face and kept saying "thank you. Thank you", as if it's a queue for you to give him $.
