I mostly enjoyed my lunch here... the ambience is nice, it's a decent size, and the service was good. I really, really enjoyed my sushi rolls (salmon, Yellowtail, and eel). The Miso Soup, on the other hand, was quite watery... I'm a Miso Soup snob and fairly picky, but this one could use some real help. The salad was actually worse. Some lettuce with a little blob of carrot ginger dressing on it. I got some stuff to-go... my wife and I didn't like the calamari dish (tastes funny), I love the flavor of the beef ribs but it was way too chewy, my wife said Pork Gyoza was very good. The edamame could use some salt IMO. I liked the Chilean Sea Bass too, though I'm glad it was an appetizer. It wasn't the kind of prep that I would want a lot of. Something happened during lunch that kind of disturbed me, though. A tall, lanky Black gentlemen wearing a construction vest walked in. I vaguely heard him asking for Chinese food. The staff told him that it's Japanese food, and be could find Chinese right over on Main Street. They repeated this once or twice, but the man kept asking something. I thought I heard "what did is this? What do you have? What is it?" The staff person kind of brushed him off, motioned to the door and was done with him. He looked incredibly frustrated and it was one of those moments when I wondered if I should have just walked out. The staff saw that I noticed this, and spoke to me about it a couple of times. She claims he was demanding free food. I understand that she was busy. I get that people come in from the street and they can be a pain in the ass. I also acknowledge that she was a small Asian female and may have felt intimidated. But the interaction felt kind of racist, to be honest. It felt like she was very quick to dismiss him, show him the door. I get that this man was unlikely to become one of her better customers... granted. But I don't like the way he was treated, regardless. I would consider returning, but I hope they will consider how that treatment feels to another person. read more

Please keep in mind that this was a DoorDash delivery. This Yonkers spot has sushi and Japanese mainly. I'm not a sushi person and was nursing a cold, so I wanted some comfort food. I also got the harumaki, or Japanese ring roll, which was pretty standard. The beef teriyaki lunch (grilled beef glazed with teriyaki sauce, served with miso soup, rice, and salad) was pretty good. Savory, rich. Not a large portion, so not overfilling. Can be combined with some of their other dishes. I have mixed feelings on the beef fried rice. The beef was kinda cold and chewy. There was also chicken mixed in somehow, but that didn't bother me. The stir-fried rice itself was good, mixed with scallions. I just think I would have probably chosen another protein. This place serves a lot of sushi. They compose lunch boxes, which are served with soup, rice, salad, shumai, and a California roll. They serve bento boxes as well. Serve several hot appetizers, other hot soups, salads (seaweed, avocado, salmon skin). They also have noodle dishes (udon, yaki soba, beef sukiyaki, and more). Multiple varieties of tempura. Rating: (4/5) I recently visited this place to try out their All-You-Can-Eat menu. Overall, it was a solid dining experience, but there is some room for improvement. The Food What sets this place apart from some other sushi spots is that the price includes a full selection of kitchen food alongside the sushi. We were able to jump between fresh nigiri and hot appetizers like tempura, crab Rangoon , sweet and sour chicken, and many others; which made for a much more balanced meal. The quality of the fish was fresh, and the kitchen dishes arrived hot and well-seasoned. Why 4 Stars instead of 5? The only real drawback was the variety. While everything we ate was good, the menu felt a bit limited for an "All-You-Can-Eat" establishment. I would have loved to see a wider range of signature rolls or more diverse kitchen options. It felt like we ran out of new things to try fairly quickly. Final Verdict If you want a mix of sushi and hot Japanese comfort food, this is a great spot. Khangri has the best Shumai in all of NYC. I swear. The place is spotless, super clean and with a minimal look. I'm so grateful that we have a place like this in Yonkers because it's very rare to find. The staff is nice and helpful, they'll tell you what they think you'll like and I always listen. Seriously, the waitress hung over me as in hovering to make sure I didn't share "my all you can eat sushi" and scolded my family for my 8 year old trying to take a bean off my plate. My partner and I were craving all you can eat sushi... as we do :) we are regular all you can eat type of people! The service was average. Nothing special and nothing horrible. They were very quick and attentive. The sushi was pretty good, but not the best I've ever had. If you are craving sushi and all you can eat I would say this is a mediocre place. There is easy street parking here or along the park nearby. The inside is very large and nicely decorated. However it did not feel super clean. I find most all you can eat places are the same with a bursting menu of mediocre quality food, but Khangri is different!! The quality of fish is unreal. It would be a waste to get a tempura roll or even a spicy roll. I'm not one for sashimi, but their fish is truly so delicious ever time that I prefer sashimi over anything. Ok Yelpers, I had really high hopes given the really positive reviews. I might have built it up too high in my mind as a result and found myself a bit disappointed. Many of you were right to comment that ambiance is nothing special so I was expecting that. Many of you were correct in that the food is good... and it was very flavorful, although more expensive than I had expected. We can throw down sushi, but the sashimi was cut in very large chunks which is not my preferred cut. Service was barely there, but we didn't have any specific needs. What you all didn't mention was that parking is rough to find. We circled the block a few times and finally found a metered spot. A few abandoned buildings close by gave me pause. One of my favorite sushi places in the area. Once you enter you can enjoy the full decor and atmosphere of the restaurant. The best part is the all you can eat sushi deal for $25. You can have all the hot appetizers, and fresh sushi you want. For people who want to try all the different kinds of sushi in one go this is your chance. Keep in mind they do have a notice saying if you don't finish all the food on your plate they will charge you the full price for the remaining rolls. This might be an inconvenience to some but it is a good way to reduce food waste. Don't order a large amount of food if you don't plan on eating it. One very stormy night we were in the Yonkers area and my sister in-law was craving sushi so i just looked online and found this place. When we walked in, it was just us and the staff... My hope was the weather kept others home....Once we settled, got some wine and ordered all was great. We had the shrimp shumai and tempura vegetables. I was allergic to one vegetable and they were happy to replace it . We ordered an assortment of rolls which were all good and 3 deserts!
