I'm only writing this review because I was extremely disappointed. I normally go to Hoshi sushi in Stonybrook... so I guess this review is in comparison to them; I don't think I want to even eat sushi for a long time after this place. Sushi restaurant featuring 'All You Can Eat', their fish tastes relatively fresh, the only downside though is that I felt as though their Sushis and Sashimis aren't crafted beautifully and perfectly, the Sashimi was cut into thick cubes when served to me which I felt is a lazy job, my friend and I ordered 3 Hand Rolls and 3 Specialty Rolls and we were served with a seemingly random Sushi Rolls that we couldn't recognize if we ordered - ended up our server saying those were only the hand rolls and 2 of each specialty rolls (instead of 8 an order) because the chef felt like we ordered a lot. Overall I was satisfied but definitely been to a more better AYCE Sushi places. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the beauty is in the food. This was my first time taking a dive into the sushi culture and I was not dissapointed. I ordered the California roll and salmon avocado sushi along with a side of spicy ranch. As for the menu there is a plethora of options to chose from and the customization is endless. There's also a wide variety of alcoholic drinks for those who are interested. Some of the sashimi was a little thin, but hey, it's all you can eat. They have a selection of wine and alcohol if you're interested in having a drink or two. They were a little short staffed - however, they recently opened (I think within the last day or so), so it's understandable. The staff were very friendly. For all-you-can-eat, it's $21 per person for weekdays, and about $23 for Friday/Saturday's, which is comparable to other all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. Summary: All you can eat, B grade sushi with flavorless canned soda. This is a nondescript Sushi restaurant in a busy strip mall. We visited on a Summer weekday afternoon and this place was DEAD. In fact, we were the only diners in the restaurant through most of our meal, only to be joined by someone drinking wine at the sushi bar (but not eating sushi? lol) and another solo diner also taking advantage of the all you can eat deal. The restaurant was dark and dingy and before trying the door we questioned if the restaurant was even open since it was so dark inside. Save your calories and just order water. The soda here (only cans) is flavorless and has got to be imported. Is there knock off Coke? Because that's what their soda tastes like. We ordered a regular roll, two specialty rolls, rock shrimp, shumai, a few tempura pieces and miso soup. The food wasn't horrible but it was not spectacular either. I can get better sushi from my local supermarket. I also suspect the tempura, rock shrimp and shumai were all frozen. The sushi was oddly room temperature and just bland. This is my first time trying this place. I ordered online and picked it up, brought it home and it looked fine. I opened it and ate one okay roll, but then saw these two bad pieces that also smelt off, so I put them to the side the other pieces were fine. I took apart one piece of the Philadelphia roll and it seemed fine but these two pieces seemed like they were part of a bad salmon so I didn't eat them. They also smelt really fishy. Listen, I've given this place many a chance to redeem itself. Being that it is close to my house, I've gotten takeout on a few occasions only to receive extremely subpar food (i.e. tasteless soup, rubbery pepper tuna with no sauce as it is advertised, borderline not fresh sushi). Anyway, I joined several friends to dine at this establishment last night and thought 'maybe it'll be different when I dine in!'. I was wrong. Out of all the Sushi Palace we have been to this one is our favorite. The sashimi is relativly fresh. One of the problem with Sushi Palace chain is that you usually don't get what you order and you have to keep track of the order you placed. This place is relativly doing a better job comparing to other Sushi Palace. Also, the waitress would get you what's missing right away if you notice you have been waiting for some missing dishes for a long time. The food was fantastic though its 28 dollars I full think it was worth the price as you can order multiple rounds of sushi. At the end you even got to chose what type of ice cream you wanted for free! This was our third time dining at this establishment. Our first two experiences were positive. However, our third experience was terrible. After ordering our first round of food, we informed the waitress that we were missing at least three rolls and two kitchen entrees. Her response was "Sorry, the chefs are busy tonight". We have been eating sushi for over 15 years and have never seen anything like this. The salmon was thrown on the plate with no care, cut into unequal shapes and contained large amounts of fat and skin on it. It was the most repulsive thing we have ever seen and ruined our meal. To be honest, it looked like they gave us the trimmings from the fish that were intended for the garbage.
