Tastes good enough, fish was fresh, but underwhelming for basic mall food court hibachi at their prices. I gave them a second shot on another movie night (I wanted to have sashimi with my charcuterie, sue me) but initially received the wrong order. When I got home I didn't open the food once I saw it wasn't sashimi/ had no drink. My husband goes back, and the KITCHEN STAFF were rude and obtuse about it! Densely and aggressively asked "Huh??" "That's not what you ordered???" "What do you mean?" Really strange to have kitchen crew questioning customers at all, but when the restaurant made a mistake was crazy. We came here because my BFF and her husband wanted the canton steak and they thought that this location was the original Canton. It's a small place and looks as if it's more counter service but there is sit down and a waiter. We had a young man that was new so there were a lot of glitches. There is a small happy hour menu of several rolls, appetizers and drinks for $5. I ordered a spicy tuna roll that was ok. The rest ordered soup and asked if the portions were large and were told No. So the 3 people each ordered a soup. Well the bowl of soup was huge and big enough to share. I ordered the chicken red Thai curry. Big mistake. It was very sweet and had the frozen peas, carrots and mushrooms. It wasn't good. My husband ordered the honey chicken and fried rice , which was full of the frozen peas and carrots and he said was tasteless. The couple ordered the steak medium. Half was well done and it was so tough. The vegetables tasted as if they were frozen. The young man was attentive and we gave him grace since he was new. Just ordered from this location again for the first time in a while and it did not disappoint. We ordered take out, and when I arrived an employee greeted me and helped me find my order. She was kind and friendly and I appreciated the initiative she took. We ordered the udon coconut curry and OH MY GOODNESS it was loaded and DELICIOUS! I e been raving about it since. The curry was mildly spicy, the tofu was perfect, egg and sea food were generous. The broth was creamy but not heavy. I will go back for this! My friend ordered the sushi burrito and spicy tuna crispy rice and was delighted too. So glad they've added so many new things to their menu and kept the great vibes of the location. Sushi Maki/Canton Restaurant are one in the same. We came in for a quick bite and were so pleasantly surprised! It's set up as a quick order spot- you order at counter, sit at table with number, and receive your meal shortly thereafter. We received our food really quickly and we're pleasantly surprised as the quality in quantity of food was really satisfying. The crab ragoons were a nice size and tasted pretty good. They are large, lots of cream cheesy crab goodness, and fried to perfection. The wonton soup came in a large bowl, and the wontons were freshly homemade with distinct flavor and absolutely delicious. The broth was tasty. The menu did say cabbage but it's actually lettuce- still good. The best of all though was the spicy tuna nachos- omg that was good. We had to leave, as we're in a hurry but saw someone with a fried rice dish, that despite being overly full, still had me drooling . Will definitely be coming back !!! read more

Was feeling lazy so i got uber eats. Sushi was on my mind and this place had a low delivery fee so i went for it. I got the JB tempura roll with Krab Rangoon and Taro Boba Tea. Everything was delicious, i truly have 0 complaints. My driver delivered to my door successfully through Uber Eats and I had utensils and sauce on the side to dip. Next time I'll probably get the Volcano Roll and venture out to try a new Boba Tea flavor. This review is not about the food but the treatment we received from Shane on Saturday 2/5/22 between 6:30 to 9:00 pm I came with my family late Saturday and while we were ordering through the QR menu, a waiter name Alejandro, came to our table to asked if we need anything and to offer that if we wanted to we could order with him instead. He told us he would come back with his pad to take our order. A few minutes past, a lovely and very polite young waitress came by an took our order and brought us water. We were minding our own business when a man name Shane came out to scold at us that if we wanted to get our order we should go inside an place it otherwise it was going to take a long time before someone would come out to take it and it would take even longer to receive our food. I don't know who this Shane is, the supervisor or manager or whatever but you don't ever speak that way to anybody!! I'm not even saying this as a obviously former customer of this business, but as a person, your ways of speaking to my family and me was rude, condescending and honestly just a big as****** After this, we were going to leave immediately but we were starving and it was late so instead we went inside to place our order to the same girl who took it before. She looked us in shock to see us inside. When we told her what has happened, she apologized, which she shouldn't have as it was not her behavior and lack of professionalism that has caused this whole incident. Sadly I could not found out what her name was, as when we went inside to pay, just to leave as fast as we could of this place, the receipt said our waiter was Alejandro, who could not even bother to even acknowledge our presence and I guessing the one who went inside to complain to his supervisor/manager that he was to busy to take an order, when he was the one who offered in the first place. I hope the tip we left, gets assigned to our actual waitress and not to him. My parents has been coming to this place for over 35 years! We even decided to keep coming here after Sushi Maki took over because we were assured they will keep the old menu, in fact, the old restaurant name is still on the left side of the business but sadly after this incident this business doesn't exist for us anymore. read more

I mistakenly placed a catering order for a day later than when I needed it. When I arrived to pick up on the day I actually needed it, they obvioulsy didn't have the order because they had it scheduled for the folowing day. I ordered 2 sushi rolls and 1 chicken fried rice. I asked when placing the order by phone if the rice had any shell fish and I was told no. I explained when placing my order that my wife is allergic to shell fish. I was told no problem. When I got home with my order, I served my wife the rice and it had about 5 shrimp in it. Luckily we caught it prior to ingesting. I called the restaurant and spoke to a Manager. He apologized for the mistake and offered a refund. To date, the refund has not been issued and it's been 5 days. This location is close to my home and we eat sushi regularly. While I understand that mistakes happen, the refund offered was never done. I will not go back. Lost a good customer. Today Sunday I received a call from the restaurant Manager apologizing and offering a free meal, I also received a refund to my credit card. I appreciate the call and the offer of a free meal which I won't accept. As I stated previously anyone can make a mistake and they have corrected it.
