This review is very difficult for me to write. We boarded our 1 year old yellow lab with Susan once before and that stay had gone well. He came home filthy, but that is to be expected. We decided to board him again for the weekend we were moving from Paso to SLO to avoid having him underfoot with the movers. When I picked him up on Sunday he was standing at the gate with a sad look in his eyes. He jumped into the back of the car as fast as he could and immediately began crying. He was caked in mud so we took him directly to Lemo's pet store for a bath. He cried the whole way there. I was shocked because I have never heard him cry like that before. Susan mentioned that 2 of the bigger dogs had been obsessed with our dog and they "played" a lot so I thought he must just be really tired. During his bath he cried the entire time. As the mud washed away I was sickened to see mud crusted/bloody sores all over him, along with a bite mark on his neck. Then I noticed the bottom of his paws were blistered, swollen and raw. My poor baby. When we got home, my fiancé called Susan to find out what had happened. She played dumb and said the two dogs were chasing him around and trying to bite his collar. She separated them for a bit and then let them at it again. My poor dog was bullied for 3 days and she did nothing to keep him safe. As for his paws... it was 108 in Paso that weekend and the vet said his paws were burned from running around on the hot concrete. Her response was that she has shade for the dogs. Well apparently, her little shade tarp is not sufficient. I imagine my poor dog doing anything he can to get away from the other dogs and sacrificing his poor paws in the act of trying to get away. Our poor dog has been so traumatized that for the first 3 days he was home he would startle and start barking aggressively at any small noise. I know Susan means well and would never intentionally let a dog be hurt, but it has been heartbreaking to see our dog suffer from staying at her kennel. It seems like maybe she should charge more and have fewer dogs so that she is able to manager them better. All I know is that my dog will never be left there, or at any kennel again. read more

Just picked up our two dogs from Bed and Biscuit after they had an 11-day stay with Susan. To say it was a positive experience is an understatement. Upon meeting Susan, during the get-to-know each other phase, our family immediately felt at ease. As our dogs began their stay with Susan, her attention to communication throughout their stay continued to be a great encouragement to know that they were in very capable hands. We took our Miniature Australian Shepard to Susan's in June 2024. (She had previously been bitten by another dog-with an emergency visit to the vet because of infection) So we were pretty apprehensive and afraid Remy would be traumatized being around other dogs. But we needed to find a suitable place to board her because we do travel frequently. We are so happy with how it all turned out. Remy seemed to be calm and comfortable there, We could tell she really liked Susan, who went above and beyond to make her happy! She even sent us pictures and videos of Remy playing and relaxing. Words cant express my gratitude towards Susan. New to area I was taken back by the high cost for Dog care. Good gawd man most places are charging $45 minimum a day. Ummm, for $225 a week that better include training! Obviously folks in the area are willing to pay high prices for their baby!?!?!? Susan doesn't take advantage of those who require her services. Before even bringing Bella she sort of interviewed me over the phone. Wanted to know our dogs needs, current shot status and temperament. Also, ask to see proof of shots. Excellent personalized service. Susan treated our little guy like her own family. We needed her to watch him for just a few hours and she encouraged us to leave him longer and go out on a date night. We were not able to take her up on the offer but it was very nice gesture and she is very very reasonably priced. We will use her services again. read more

While visiting Paso Robles, I needed a place to drop off my pup Holly for just two hours. I contacted many kennels/dog daycares that didn't work out due to it being around the holidays or other daycare requirements. Susan went above and beyond to accommodate Holly and her rates are incomparable. Since Holly is dog selective, has a bite history, and gets overwhelmed by large groups of dogs, she needed her own space. Susan was able to set Holly up with her own private area where she could still be near the other dogs. We were concerned Holly might bark a lot during her time there but since it was only for two hours, Susan was willing to take her in anyways. We have had a sweet poodle that we inherited thru a death in the family. This little girl has been thru a lot, losing her Mama, and relocated from WA to CA. She has come along way being socialized, but still skittish. So it was with great apprehension to make the decision to have her go to a daycare. We were in Paso visiting and discovered not every business is dog friendly, so we made that decision to have her stay with Susan for the day. I found Susan here on Yelp, but had the opportunity to talk with others who use her services. EVERYONE had nothing but excellent comments about her. We dropped her off with Susan,and she took to her right away. Susan has pens for larger dogs and separate ones small dogs. We appreciated that so our baby didn't get trampled on with dog play. (Did I mention, our girl does love other dogs, but slow to warm up to humans) We picked her up about 6 hours later. She was happy as a clam and almost too tired for her evening walk from playing at Susan's. I highly recommend this business. read more

Susan's great! We have used her twice since we moved to the area. After talking to her I just felt good about the decision, she was willing to take our two dogs in I believe next day and boarded them for 2 weeks, when we got there she explained how it would go. The place was nice and spacious and there were a lot of dogs there for ours to play with. She would text me videos of them playing, she played ball with them and sent me pictures and just kept me up to date the whole time. First time boarding our pups (1 year old Lab/Border Collie; 8 mo old English Bulldog). Our dogs are our family, they live in the house with us but they get a lot of outdoor/farm time. I checked out a few other places and finally decided on Susan's for our week long trip out of town. Susan is a very sweet, personable lady. The kennel area was clean and organized. All the dogs looked happy. I knew the Lab/Border Collie would have a blast with the big dogs but I was worried about our clingy cuddly Bulldog. She tends to get easily winded and would rather be a lap dog. During our week away, Susan texted proof-of-life pics of the pups at play. I assumed they would come back a stinky, sweaty mess with how much fun they were having. But they came back clean, and almost as well rested as us! Working with Susan is a no-brainer. We have been boarding our dogs with Susan since 2008 when we first moved to Paso. At first we had 4 dogs but now we have only 2 (border collies aged 1 year and 15 years). They love going to Susan's and when we pick them up they are happy and tired. The several play yards are always clean and well maintained and Susan is very thoughtful about which dogs she puts together in each yard. She is conscientious about asking for proof of vaccination and is willing to accommodate even somewhat complicated diet and medication regimens. This was the first time we have ever boarded our fur baby. We had lots of concerns as she is alpha and suffers separation anxiety to say nothing about what a princess she is. I did check out other kennels and chose this one because Susan offered to let my dog stay a couple of hours as a trial. Very thoughtful offer and it worked out perfectly. Susan kept in touch, sent videos and pictures to calm me. My little fur baby came home just the way she left, happy, clean and well fed. Highly recommend Susan. We brought our 9lb toy poodle with us to paso for a wine weekend getaway, and left our 12 year old at home. Our furry baby is a lot harder to manage than our preteen at hotels and wineries. So we searched for doggie am day care and came up with Susan. Even though there weren't reviews I decided to call. She is the owner of this doggie daycare/boarding. I left a mssg and promptly received a phone call. She was so patient and informative with my questions,concerns, and her services. I immediately called our vet in San Jose to fax over patches vaccinations when we realized his kennel cough had just expired. I called Susan back and she was so kind and understanding. Even though our furry baby didn't actually get to board with Susan I was so impressed with her customer service and diligence in not only asking what patches needs were but also making sure every pup she takes is up to date on their vaccinations I decided to write this review.
