Ray kept the trip rolling with stories and getting to know you personally. We caught near our limit that we decided to stop and have lunch on the boat. We moved but 3 times in our outing and hit every time. Unlike other Captains that move every 10 minutes after nothing. That gets rather annoying and old quick. We were running late, but Chris was very patient with us. We are novices so Chris baited the line for us and did our (very professional) casting. We just watched the line and reeled 'em in! Chris was great with the kids; they hooked and reeled in a 28" and 29" Red Drum, all the while Chris coached them on how to handle it, without taking over for them. In just a few hours (we cut our trip short as one of the kiddos got sick), we reeled in seven Speckled Trout, the two aforementioned Reds, and a Skipjack (I think that's what it was). In addition, we had a 32" Red on the line, and a shark, both of whom snapped our lines and got away. I can't even count all the trout that must have gotten away due to our mis-attention to our lines. We even saw some dolphins...real excitement! Chris had great equipment and was fun to hang out with...my family gives him 8 thumbs up! I can imagine Chris would be a great guide regardless of your group makeup.

Having been employed at the Disability Office at one of the Colleges in San Antonio for over five years, I became very familiar with the Federal and Texas ADA LAWS! Further, I am a 100% Disabled Veteran with mobility issues. Your small pet that is decked out with a chest cover that says ADA is not classified as a Service Animal. Look it up on the ADA website and you will find a wealth of information on Service Animals. FYI: I am a Dog lover! Doberman or German Shorthaired are my favorite! Please research the laws before you go. Here is some general information I copied from a website; "Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Texas law, a service animal is defined as a dog (or in some cases, a miniature horse) individually trained to perform specific work or tasks directly related to a person's disability. Emotional support animals are not protected as service animals." When you see people at HEB or Walmart or any other business, with a small animal in their cart or being carried, you can pretty much bet that they are not covered by the ADA. Please take the time to read ADA Laws. One more thing. Any Business can "Trespass" you from their property for any reason. Once they do you must leave the premises.

The lights on the water were excellent, but all I was pulling up on the sabiki were tiny bait fish -- piggy perch, small whiting, you name it. Basically running a daycare for baby fish under those lights. Dropped $20 on croaker and got nothing out of it. Even tried the artificial fish bites, and still just fed the little guys. Didn't see anyone else land anything worth bragging about either. Honestly, just way too many people for not much action.
