This tour was so much fun! The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because I feel like the boat crew could've done a better job of watching the kids that were handling the sea creatures. I'm a marine bio major and I spent the entire time educating the children on how to properly handle the animals and to put them back nicely, etc. I really did have a lot of fun otherwise. read more

On a whim my husband and I decided to drive down to the coast from San Antonio. We misunderstood the schedule as we thought that there was a scheduled boat to leave about 15 minutes after we arrived. Nobody was there so we called the number. Captain Kelley let us know that she could do a private boat ride right away. It was so wonderful to have her accommodate us immediately. Captain Kelley was so knowledgeable and it's so obvious that she loves what she does. When she would see the dolphins her face would light up. We saw so many dolphins and it put the biggest smile on my face. We had a great experience and we will be keeping Dolphin Connection in mind on our next trip for sure! 5 stars all around. read more

Our family visited Corpus in November 2020. We looked at all the dolphin tours online and found Dolphin Connection. Although we had to call for a quote, it was worth it! Great people run this and it was very personal. We went out with just our family and got to stay out till it stated getting dark. We saw amazing spots and the captain was full of useful interesting and comical information. He didn't act bored or unconcerned. You could see he truly LOVES his job! Sonia was a great guide. She had so much enthusiasm you couldn't help but smile the entire time. She went out of her way to accommodate us and our reservation. There wasn't as many dolphins as I wanted to see, but you can't make them magically appear. We were able to play with them and watch them do jumps and flips. I will do this tour again and hopefully we are able to go first thing in the morning when they are more active. I loved this experience! She even let us pick a couple of seashells at the end of the tour. Tip: the colorful boat next to her dock is not part of the business. Another person rents that houseboat. If you don't see Sonia's boat, she is still with another group. We also paid after the tour. read more

The dolphins were great, but these five stars go to our guide, captain, and helmswoman of this business, Sonja. She runs about as tight a ship as you'd want on vacation - safe and stable, with some extra jackets in case the wind kicks up, but dog-friendly (as long as other customers are ok with it), customer-accommodating ("Oh you like birds? We can go see some birds too!"), and a friendly, enthusiastic personality. Sonja has decades of experience with the dolphins in and around the bay; she knows the individuals, where they like to swim, and how weather might change their behavior. The day we went was overcast and windy on shore;since business was slow she was willing to reschedule in case we thought it would be too cold, but we stuck with it, saw plenty of dolphins up close, and had a great time. (If there is any hint of wind I suggest bringing more layers than you think you'll need.) The boat itself is really lovely. It's small, with three benches that fit two adults (though it's worth noting that one bench would probably not fit two XXL adults). There is a sunshade on the boat but it doesn't cover all the benches, so make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen. There is room around the seats to walk or kneel, and when the boat is still it's safe to get close to the edge.The boat feels extremely stable yet maneuverable, so Sonya is able to get close to the dolphins and change course quickly if a fin is spotted in the distance. It's a mellow ride;my partner is prone to motion sickness, but she felt fine the whole time with a SeaBand and no Dramamine. Overall a great tour and a great business. Thank you Sonja! read more

Husband and I booked this for our vacation. Absolutely amazing experience. The tour guide made us completely comfortable and it felt as though "family was driving us around" as my husband put it. Overall this is a wonderful boat tour! It is a small boat so you were next to the water and the dolphins swim right up to the boat. I love seeing the dolphins in the wild and doing whatever they feel like doing. I did not see any lifejackets on the boat. The boat seats six, but there were only three of us that day so it was nice and roomy. You stay in the bay and the water was calm. Please note this boat tour ONLY accepts cash or checks! So disappointed!! Made reservations a month in advance for my daughters 7th birthday. She had been talking for weeks about how excited she was to see Dolphins for her birthday. The morning of my daughters birthday (the day we were suppose to go) they called and CANCELLED! Saying her back was hurt and she was not doing tours today. We had even called 2 days before our scheduled appointment to verify. We luckily found another business to go to and had a FANTASTIC time! (And cheaper!) While we were out, the person running the tour pointed to a boat out and said that was Dolphin Connection. Full of people. Now, I can't be 100% sure that this was Dolphin Connection. But if this is true, I would recommend being cautious with Dolphin connection! I'm just glad we were able to find another boat, last minute, to take my daughter on. She was so upset and disappointed. But we needed up having a good time without any help from Dolphin Connection! read more

Took a trip with captain Greg on 7/15/20. We had a wonderful time and our captain was very knowledgeable about the area. I'd recommend this tour to anyone! It's definitely worth the price. AMAZING experience for our family! We were visiting for Spring Break and took our boys to sight see dolphins but we got more than that. Captain Pat & Kelley were wonderful, friendly, so knowledgeable & great with the boys. They provided life vests too for us. We had so much fun, learned a lot about the dolphins and enjoyed our time. My familly and I took a one hour or so adventure ride with the friendly folks at Dolphin Connection last week. It was well worth the 25 minute drive from downtown Corpus across the bay to Ingleside. Within minutes of leaving the dock they had us within a few feet of some amazing dolphins. Lot's and lots of dolphins too. I grew up in Corpus and had no idea there are so many dolphins in the bay. Our guide was very safe and knowledgeable. I felt like she was totally aware of how to handle any situation. I also could tell that she really cares for the safety of the animals and her guests. Our kids loved it and so did we. My wife got within a few inches of actually touching a dolphin (as instructed by our guide). She was so excited. The boat they use is perfect for this type of thing. (Don't forget your camera) The price of the tour is very affordable. It's a mom and pop type operation and we like that kind of stuff. Super friendly people operating this business and they offer a one of a kind experience. Don't forget to ask about a free sea shell on the dock after your tour. We will be back again! read more

Had an appointment for noon today. Got there early an waited until one no one showed up an would not answer their phone.

This was an amazing trip. Far more that what I expected. Where to start... My husband and I showed up a little early so we ended up sitting in the back of our pick up waiting until the previous group returned. They arrived about 10 after the hour. The previous group didn't have much luck with the dolphins as the winds were coming from the North and we were told that even though they are predictable creatures when the winds change the dolphins act strange. We were warned that it may not be a good day with the wind shift and the choppy waters and if we did not have any luck with the dolphins our trip would be free. Initially we saw a couple of dolphins but they were not in the mood for company and dove down under the water never to be seen again. We went around and island and came upon a shrimp boat. We were told this would be our best chance at seeing them and it certainly didn't take long. The dolphins were out and about feeding and several did come up to the boat. Funny as it was, I had one come up out of the water and blow air out of it's blow hole and it startled me it was so close. I have to say this couple is amazing they have been doing this for 30 years and know over 100 dolphins by sight. This was truly a wonderful experience and we will certainly do it again. If nothing more for the educational information and boat ride. We were more than happy to pay the $30 per person. read more

Went out with my parents over the Fourth of July week. It was really great. Went out around 10 am with another family. Drove out about 10 minutes from the dock and settle near a shrimp boat. There were about 10 dolphins which included 3 babies!!! They are super friendly and come right up to the boat. Drove out to a few more locations, the guide says usually has a school. We got really close but didn't actually get to pet any. The guides are knowledgeable and seem to be just as excited to see the dolphins as their guests. We really had a great time and would love to do it again. read more

We caught the last tour on the last day of the season. We saw a few pods of dolphins but none would really get too close to the boat. The guides were friendly and made every effort to find us some dolphins, including taking us into the shipping channel and out into the open water where we were able to view a few dolphins leaping in front of an oil tanker. We didn't get many close encounters but we did see several dolphins. read more
