Since we live on the East Coast, we were anxious about finding someone we could trust to make the repairs while we were away. Crown Finish, with Danny Sommers and Austin Sommers, fit the bill perfectly for us. I feel confident that if I gave them blueprints for a home that they could build it, no problem. We had several terrible leaks in the basement and Danny knew just what to do as we categorically removed the leak pathways. Once, when we weren't here, a friend was staying at the house and called and said the bathroom was leaking. I called Austin and On A Saturday he came out and fixed it. The man actually dug the front of the house up looking for the problem. Definitely above and beyond what a consumer could reasonably expect from a contractor! I have never had to worry that they are working me over and making me spend more than I need to for a repair. In fact, it has happened more than once that they've told me a more reasonable way to do something or turned me on to a more economically priced option for fixtures or whatever. They are very trustworthy and send out workers that are polite, efficient, and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend Crown Finish.

I was shocked when the one I called, Spettro, answered on my first call, and then said they could be at my house in a couple hours. Down to four, two contractors just put together a simple one page bid based on the square footage I gave them. To us this lacked details and they seemed reluctant to put much effort into actually visiting our new home to generate a bid and discussing ideas. Down to two contractors, Centurion caught our attention as they were quicker to respond to all of our questions, to visit our home and provide suggestions for building a better basement while the other builder seemed to be newer in the basement industry and it took several messages to get them to visit our home though they finally did. Both bids came in about the same price but we decided to use Centurion they were more responsive, had more options for us to decide on and we liked that they have been using the same sub-contractors for several years. Korey's bid was not the cheapest we got. However, he was the only person that demonstrated a well-thought through vision for our basement, not just a view of patching up walls and putting down carpets but a sophisticated and detailed vision, which we liked and appreciated. From the first time he came over for a bid, he set our expectation to a reasonable time range. However, throughout the construction period, he would take the initiative to move up the scheduling whenever possible, even if that means he had to call to schedule and then reschedule. This has cut down a significant amount of construction time we prepared ourselves for, which makes us happy. Throughout the construction period, he is very responsive to our questions and comments. He is also very knowledgeable of different considerations we were facing, ex. how to design the ceiling of the theater room we wanted so the odd air duct could be hidden as if it was part of the design. He is very detail-oriented and itemizes preparatory things as well as billing meticulously. This helps us have a clear mind set and timeline on what we could expect from them and what we were expected as well. The same applies to billing and payment as well. We have had a great time working with Korey, people associated with SALT/him, and people who came to help us finish our basement. We would recommend him and SALT to anyone without any hesitation.
