Our stay here was awesome! The staff was very attentive with anything we needed. It's very clean and everyone was so friendly. The only down fall was the parking situation. Not enough bang for your buck! First off it's very clean! They keep the grounds up, the halls the rooms!! The management team was very helpful and kind! Some staff acted annoyed when you had a question or issue! The housekeeping not coming unless you schedule an appointment is ridiculous! At this point I feel it's just a cost cutter measure! The no breakfast is a pain and the little store wasn't stocked daily and was truly lacking! Had more than one conversation about this with different guests! The tv was horrible maybe 20 channels! The pool area is small- For the price you pay there just isn't the amenities you would expect!!! read more

Although the rooms do not offer oceanfront views, rather ocean SIDE views, I was overall very satisfied with my three day, two night stay. The staff was incredibly accommodating, especially Barry at the front desk. Our room was clean, complimentary coffee in the lobby was very much appreciated, as well as the 20% discount offered to a few surrounding restaurants and bars nearby. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel to anyone I know staying in/near Myrtle Beach. read more

What I liked: -Clean room -Comfy king size bed. -Nice (side) view of ocean. -Self serve coffee available in lobby (might have to microwave it) What I didn't: -Just two elevators located off of the parking garage in a small area. Felt like we were waiting for elevators far too often, for too long. And when more than a few people are waiting, you might find yourselves waiting for an elevator in the parking garage, like we did. -The smoking areas are located at every entrance and exit to the hotel. So while it is a "smoke free" hotel, you cannot walk into or out of the hotel, beach, or pool without getting a whiff of cigarette smoke if someone is lighting up. I had to anticipate walking as quickly as I could if I saw someone there. This is the reason I decided to write a review and the reason I won't return to this hotel. My hope is that the hotel comes up with a more creative way to satisfy their smoking clientele without creating a cigarette smoke gauntlet to navigate when entering or exiting the hotel. read more

Beware the cancellation policy!!! Before you book, be REALLY SURE you plan on going!! I thought it was odd that they charged a whole night's stay to my credit card as a deposit, but whatever. Made a reservation for the end of September (so definitely not in season) and our plans changed. I should have read the policy more closely! Even cancelling SIX WEEKS OUT they charged me a $25 fee!! This may be the best hotel in Surfside, but when we do plan to go in the winter I'll be looking elsewhere. read more

Our first stay here in 2021 was great! June 2022 we stayed here. Frig was broken and I lost a lot of food. Construction equip was working at 6:30 am every day. I asked Bill Miller, front office manager about switching to a room on the other side of hotel and was told they were completely full. There were a ton of people checking out that morning AND online you could make a new reservation for that same night so you can be the judge of the honesty. The view of the ocean was obstructed by the constuction and a teeny sliver could be seen. Also people were smoking on the outdoor public balcony outside the office and it floated up to our balcony that was not really private with the large public balcony right to the side of us. Also the pool closed for winds way past a storm, but was left open during a lightening storm that fried my roku. I had to defrost my own frig to be able to use it. Was given a gift card for a local restaurant that had 2 hour min wait while we were there and would not accept take out orders. Parking lot flooded and it was high waters to park in. read more

Wonderful, friendly, clean, great location! Easy access to beach, restaurants, and entertainment. The room was very spacious and clean. Have to say they do a fantastic job on their laundry! Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool and common areas were clean and well maintained. Beach frontage was nice, life guards on duty, chair and umbrella rentals available. Restaurants, snack shacks and pub style bars within walking distance. Very family oriented, felt safe to walk around in the evening hours. Will go back read more

My wife and I loved the location of the hotel, right on Surfside Beach away from the high traffic areas. We had several restaurants right next door with ocean views, no driving. Our room was very clean, located on the 6th floor with a small balcony and great view of the beach and pool. The front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. We will be back. read more

I was here for 4 days. I had to ask the staff multiple times to change my sheets after the 3rd day. The bathrooms could be cleaned better. I found the tub nonslip suction pad in bad shape, so I removed it. The tub was pretty dirty also. The computer in the business center crashed each time I tried to log-in and the touch screen computer on the wall for information is more for show, because in my 4 days here, it never worked. read more

I love this hotel. It's clean and comfortable and convenient. There are multiple restaurants within walking distance so you really don't have to drive once you check in. The big covered porch is a great place to hang out during an afternoon thunderstorm. The coffee in the lobby is one of my favorite amenities but with Covid they have stopped it temporarily. However, there is a Starbucks kiosk in the lobby that's a suitable replacement (for a small charge). I can't say enough good things about this place. It's my go-to spot for a beach trip. read more

I stayed here from June 6-9. I left some person items in the room that were worth over $200 and when I called them about the items, they didn't have them. I'm highly disappointed in the costumer service I received from the front desk staff. Items don't go missing from a locked hotel room that only staff has access to. OUTDATED! This use to be a Days Inn apparently And it still looks like it. The rooms are small. The bathroom is even smaller with OUTDATED fixtures and features. The furniture was tattered and old. The pool was Small. The rooms, furniture, bathroom all need to be Updated. It was simply disgusting. Elevators was slow. Very Seedy Hotel! Front desk staff during check out was rude and felt rushed.... apparently this was too get the next guest in the room right after we left ! Most Hotels has 2-3 day in between cleaning process before next guest arrives to ensure thorough cleaning services with new CDC guidelines and regulations to keep guest customers safe! It is very obvious that this Hotel is not abiding by that! It's about the number of rooms they can sell for the money. Mask were even optional or suggested. DONT GO HERE it's NOT worth it. read more

What's not to like? Friendly staff, large and clean rooms, and right on the beach. This was our first time at Surfside Beach and I'm so happy we chose this hotel. Very family friendly, convenient to restaurants, and far enough away from Myrtle Beach to avoid the late night dodgy crowd. The rooms are not ocean front. The balconies overlook the parking lots. Restaurant staff from the surrounding restaurants use the hotel parking lots for their cars. The hotel room was filthy and the desk staff had a multitude of misinformation. When I called the desk to tell them that there were dirty towels in the room, they thought I just wanted more towels. It really was poor service all the way around. When I called to discuss the situation, I was told there was nothing they could do and that they were not responsible for the housekeeping. I wonder who is. Very strange. And the vending machines were all broken and the service desk had no knowledge of that either. Do not go here. Not worth it. read more

For the price I thought the hotel was very decent. We got an awesome group rate so I saved a good chunk of dough. I still don't know why it's called a "resort" as it was just a pretty basic hotel in my opinion. But any who you're literally steps away from the beach and minutes from all of the attractions in the Myrtle Beach area. Great friendly staff and overall good service. We stayed here last month. LOVED IT! The hotel was recently renovated, and was nicely done. Being fairly fresh, everything was nice and clean, and all of the staff was friendly. There are several decent eateries on three sides of the hotel (with the beach on the fourth side) so we never got in the car until leaving town. The hotel is quiet and is literally only steps from the sands of the beach. We look forward to returning again! read more

MY DAUGHTER AND I GOT STUCK ON THER ELEVATOR!!! I wouldn't come back. The room was small, the views are all side views, they have no restaurants on site, it's too far away from all the attractions, and getting stuck was the icing on the cake. Booked the room online and got an ocean view room was slightly disappointed that we had a better view of the parking lot than the beach. Just had a fantastic stay over Memorial Day weekend 2018. This hotel appears inside to have been completely redone inside in the past year or less. I highly recommend this hotel, the beach in front of it, and Surfside Beach as a nice little town outside of Myrtle Beach. We typically stay at the wonderful Wild Dunes in Isle of Palms with our family, which is over $400 a night. This is not that, but the value it provides relative to the price and the beach is very strong. Highly recommend for the value. New/clean/good place. We will be going back. read more

The Surfside Beach Resort has been recently updated. It is ocean front right next to the town's pier. The hotel provides pier passes. We recently placed a relative there because disabilities precluded use of our beach house. The room was fully ADA compliant and the staff went out of their way to provide additional accommodations, asking our guest for any suggestions for improvement.
