This hotel was awsome!! Surfside Beach Oceanfront Hotel (Formally known as Days Inn) was a great place to stay. The hotel is in the heart of the Surfside Beach Entertainment District and has much to do around it. The hotel has a pool, hot tub and a great miniature mart downstairs. The rooms where small but clean. And parking is free. If you are looking to stay near Surfside beach and the new Surfside fishing pier, this is a great place to stay. Highly Recommend!!

I have stayed at this place several times over the years. The renovation a few years ago was done tastefully and in keeping with the needs of folks staying at the beach (e.g. no carpet in the hallways or rooms--great for sandy feet). Well decorated with large photos of past expressions on this location. Nice. The building is an older design that would no longer be built: long halls, smaller rooms, and balconies that do not face the ocean (side views from each one) and they are rather small. However, for the price it's a prime location, with all the amenities, comfy beds, hot shower, safe/fridge/microwave/coffee maker in the room, plus a large lobby to grab snacks, read the paper, or make some Starbucks coffee for a nominal fee. No breakfast served. The last little nicety was the free box of saltwater taffy upon check-in. My Mom would always buy saltwater taffy when we came to the beach, so this was a warm surprise. I squirreled mine away and later sent it to her as a remembrance of finer days. If you're looking for a solid place to stay, without all the big hotel amenities and swag, I say "give 'em a whirl." Sleep here.

Clean, nicely renovated rooms on the beach for an unbeatable price. The entire hotel has been nicely renovated, and service was great. They have a convenient self-serve snack area by the lobby and some nice public (guest) seating areas. Secure key-access on the elevator was comforting. The room keys are shell-shaped, which is a cute little bonus. Great location - direct beach access, next to the pier, walking distance to a few restaurants. We paid a little extra for a balcony and a premium view, but I doubt the 'premium' view as worth it. I think you can see the ocean from any room. We could also see the parking lot and some restaurants next door. This is mostly a residential area, so it's generally quiet. Unfortunately, at 4 a.m. both mornings, we heard the backup beeping of the restaurant delivery truck, even with the balcony door closed. Overall, it was clean and inexpensive, and I would stay here again.

Don't recommend. Construction. Partial view instead of full "premium view" that I booked. Plenty of rooms with the full view, we just didn't get what we paid for...Wi-Fi barely works. Smart TV doesn't work at all. We were duped. Try another place in the area.

Pros: The staff was very helpful and check in was quick. The lobby area is very clean and coffee and water are available to guests. The beach access is great and there are showers to rinse off the sand as soon as you return. There was an issue with the faucet running, maintenance came right up and checked it within a few minutes and advised it would need to be replaced. He was able to turn it off and it only ran a little bit for the rest of the night. Cons: The room and bathroom in need of cleaning and maintenance. There were hairs, dirt and pink mold in the tub. The wall of the shower enclosure does not meet the tub and there was no caulking to reduce mold growth. The carpet had many stains and felt oily to the touch. My family decided to keep our shoes on at all times. The ice machine had standing water in the tray underneath with what appeared to be floating dirt and dead bugs.

I purchased the Tea Service ahead of time. Everyone was very friendly but I will say, overly cautious. I had indicated that I have a tree nut allergy on the notes when I booked our reservation and I have never had an establishment refuse me service because of my allergy , but they did. For the life of me I couldn't understand why a slight adjustment couldn't be made to remove almonds from one tiny dish. They also refused to serve one of my daughters for a lactose intolerance note. I assured them it was ok and I had a lactaid for her to take, she'd be fine. I had only included that note because SOME places will offer alternatives. Ultimately, they served us but I had to sign a waiver, never have I ever until now. Most of the tea service items were very good with the exception of the tiny lemon chess pie which was curdled and tasted of rotten eggs, awful. The tea was excellent and the scones and curd and cream were great too. The area where the dining room is, is nothing fancy at all. It was decent but I was truly disappointed as I was hoping for something more extravagant for tea service. The plantation home, while nice was also truly underwhelming. Great history, good tour guide who was very knowledgeable and a great storyteller, but the house was not anywhere near as fancy as others I have visited. I think what was the biggest let down was that this was the first time my daughters were visiting any plantation home and it was not at all what I was hoping for them to see and experience. If I had known what it looked like more ahead of time, I would have chosen another location in the area. Pictures inside the home are not allowed.

We stayed at the Grand Palms week of 16-February-2026…read more The 3 reflects that this property and experience met expectations. The only exception is the 2nd step to get the parking pass. WELCOME CENTER EXPERIENCE. = 2 out 5 The person who checked us in did a great job. Efficient and friendly. Had only been working 3 weeks. But dis well. BELOW IS WRITE UP IS WHY IT WAS A 2. Than you have to get your parking pass. You know the drill the people who want to sign you up for 2 hour high pressure meeting. The individual could not let it go to the point he said "it's a no brainer" to take the deal being offered. I told him no free lunch. The other thing he said which seems to be something I heard at another time share "we are guest on the property." I spent a good 10 minutes going back and forth with the individual. Waste of time. f I had to do it again I would tell the person at front desk please getting my parking pass. But they did put me on no call list which was good. You know they are your best bud until you keep saying no and they lose the mark. I am sure that the individuals who are working to sign you up it is part of thier deliverable for performance. "How many people do they sign up". ROOM = 3 out 5 We had a two bedroom unit. Everything needed for cooking etc. Did need to call housekeeping for trash bags. The unit was clean and everything worked well. The only thing about the unit is one front window. The two bedrooms had thier own door and windows to a small patio. The view is bamboo grass. The king size bed was great. The HVAC system worked well. Appliances no issue. There is a washer and dryer available in room and did the job. PROPERTY = 3 out 5 It feels less.like a resort and more like an apartment complex. The place was built in 1985. It is surrounded by other condo properties. There are pools. The surfside beach is a 15 minute drive. We went two days. Managed to have one day where setup our chairs and enjoyed the sun. Plenty of parking. Restrooms at each public parking area. The spot we choose had a group of eating establishments close to the beach area. Check out was easy. Called a number and left name and unit. Received a text later and reconfirmed. Dropped card keys off at security kiosk. I am not sure why it was but getting from welcome center to the unit was confusing. I think improving signage would be a plus. We choose not to go to Mrytle Beach. We do not eat out as much as we used to due to high dinner and beverage cost. The taxes on dining was 10%. We shopped at Publix and Piggley Wiggley. Route 17 as you will find is a busy road. We enjoyed the stay. We discussed if this is a place we would return to. The feeling is was ok but not something we would choose to return to. We have RCI and have an inventory of places to use. A caveat to this is we had just come from Hilton Head Island and this environment felt like a step down.

***Late post from my Oct 2023 East Coast trip***…read more I booked Club Wyndham Grand Palms through my vacation ownership, WorldMark The Club (Best of the Best!). After picking up my rental car from Budget at Myrtle Int'l Airport, I drove straight to this resort. Luckily, it was only about 10 mins away. I don't mind the long drives if necessary, but I do love the short drives especially having been in route via airplane for several hours. It's right off US-17 BUS and not too far from the beach. Huge lobby. Staff was nice and pleasant. Check-in was very easy. After I got my unit keys, I was sent over to the concierge desk of course. They gave me a map of Myrtle Beach and some additional information. Thank you! I also signed up for their Club Wyndham sales presentation even though I had no intention of buying more into my vacation ownership... I just love to hear what new things are in the horizon in the hospitality realm because I love to travel. They did give me a complimentary gift for my time... thank you! My studio unit was upstairs since all the downstairs units were taken. I had to walk up two flights of stairs which wasn't too bad. I only had one big luggage and a big bag with Garretts popcorns at the time LOL. Unit was open and spacious. Kitchenette had limited plates, utensils, and appliances. Dining table was adequate for one person. Bed was very comfortable. Bathroom was decent. This was a connecting unit with another unit next door that was probably a one bedroom. My stay here was only for a couple nights so I didn't take advantage of the resort amenities... they had plenty of fun stuff to offer. I enjoyed my stay very much even though it was short. Btw, all the units are located within a mile from the check-in lobby. You'll need to drive to your unit accordingly... the round-a-bouts can be tricky especially at night so pay attention. I would stay here again the next time I'm at Myrtle Beach. Happy Travels! P.S. I will post photos later. Thanks for your patience.
