My sister is obsessed with their lemon lavberry ice cream sandwich. Hard stop. We got ice creams sandwiches to go and I for the life of me could not understand what the hype was. The $5.50 cost was difficult for me to justify (they do make cookie and ice cream by hand), but they were tasty, sizable sandwiches that held together well, so I kind of left it at that. We came back here on a Wednesday night and the line was out the door for froyo. Needless to say, we crazily also stood in the lines, since I promised my kids ice cream and they loved it. We stopped by the following day after lunch when there was no line and no rush and it felt blissful to be able to eat tasty froyo. I filled up a medium cup with frozen yogurt and toppings for $6.50. Clean and well appointed on the inside. The staff is super friendly and cheerful. Getting ice cream is always a thing at the beach and my only regret is not finding this place years ago. It will be a new destination for us in the years to come. To top off being a great place to get frozen yogurt or frozen custard, you might notice dollar bills and quarters stuck in cracks around the place and in the ceiling. They collect them up once a year and donate it all to Surfing For Autism, a charity that just by the name tells me they know what life is all about. Highly recommend stopping in. Tons of free parking. Accepts both cash and credit card. We were in the area and decided to give this place a try. There was a line out the door so we thought we were in for a treat. However, it appears they limit the number of people inside the establishment at one time. This led to long lines out the door. Once we entered inside, the line wrapped around the room. Once you get closer to the cups, the staff wants each customer to use hand sanitizer before touching the machines. They offer tons of flavor option. From all the flavors tried, the watermelon and key lime flavors were very good. Unfortunately, there was no coffee flavor. That's something they should consider given that coffee is a very common flavor especially for the older folks. The toppings were decent. However, remember that you will be charged based on the weight of your dessert cup and content. It was a bit pricey. In the DMV area, frozen yogurt is very common and this place is no different. The interior is what makes this place unique. I think its worth coming here to check out the interior as its surrounded w/ coins and dollar bills which goes to a good cause. In terms of dessert, I think the place is okay. Not mind blowing flavors by any means. The decor inside here is pretty nice. The staff here were very friendly. Driving the beach road Saturday to our destination and I noticed the Spoon had been replaced by a Salon. I was relieved to see the Spoons new, elevated crib a little further south. Imagine: expanded yet safer parking. A raised building so flooding will hopefully never be an issue again. And, imagine the crowds such improvements will bring. Full disclosure: I HATE queues. As in lines. I wanted to leave immediately last night when my son and I faced a long line on arrival. I saw a chalkboard message which said something like "if you're reading this you're probably in a seemingly long line which does move quickly." Well, that was some encouragement. And the message was correct. The line did move quickly. And, the young lady managing the door and also an owner broke the chain of queue pain by talking with each party as they were in line to go in. Once let in, we faced another line. This time to draw our frozen treats. There is something here for everyone, including folks with food allergies! And, of course, vegans. Once we made it to the "cup station" we chatted with a nice team member as we waited for the party in front of to complete their draws. We also had the chance to pull out some greenback and place it wherever it would keep. Proceeds go to Autism Research. We filled our cups with a tasty assortment of frozen yogurt, made our way to the toppings, scales and checkout. We even grabbed a yogurt Sammie to go! The topping bar is super clean, which I really appreciate. The line can get a little long because it takes a bit for everyone to pick their toppings. And this place isn't cheap. They have options for different dietary restrictions, and they say they have things in the back that they keep separate so as to avoid cross-contamination, you just need to ask for those things.
