    Sea star smoothie, 10/10

Had to go here twice on our trip! The smoothies are delicious and fresh and unique! Fresh fruits, amazing nut butter, sea moss, greens, protein powder, etc! A healthy option while traveling while also super tasty and fun! Our favorite smoothie was the Sea Moss, which was tart and sweet and filled with great stuff! Erewhon Hailey Bieber smoothie who? Location: A bit hidden away on the second floor

Buddha bowl and Shine On carrot juice with ginger and turmeric
    Jane L.

Buddha Bowl with peanut Thia sauce - delish and packed with goodness: spinach, beet greens, avocado, cucumber, pepper, wild rice etc - all in a compostable container. Upstairs, nice deck. Perfect stop after a workout at the Outer Banks Y. Juices are delish and I can just feel the nutrients coursing through my body. My current fav has carrots, ginger and turmeric. Tad hard to see their yellow and blue sign - look for red Five Guys sign (Shine On is right before Five Guys heading from Nags Head to Kittyhawk).

Buddha Bowl and Watermelon juice drink

Delicious fresh food and friendly atmosphere! They were so helpful with recommendations. We had the Buddha Bowl, Crunchwrap, smoothie, and juices. Everything was delicious! The homemade ginger peanut dressing is excellent!

Cute little spot with a laid back vibe. Açaí bowl was in point and the green juice was fresh and yum!

The online ordering system isn't great (see below), however, I eventually found what I was looking for and called to adjust the pick up time. Since the large wasn't available, I chose regular for one bowl and mega for the other. I also paid for extra granola for both. Although the toppings look skimpy, we were pleasantly surprised to find the extra granola at the bottom of the regular bowl. Then the mega bowl was basically a double decker acai bowl. Acai on the bottom with selected toppings then more acai resting under another layer of the selected toppings. It's definitely worth it to get the mega bowl. They also make good smoothies and use compostable materials. Our orders have been accurate and filling. Plus the employees are friendly. Issues with the online ordering: -I couldn't adjust the pick-up time. Even though they were open for another 5 hours, the only option for pick up was next day at 9:30 am. I called after placing the order and they said they could make the order right away. -large perfect bowl is not an option (all other sizes were available) -special bowl options are confusing. No option for granola but there is an option for extra granola. No description for what it contains yet you can remove items. -many of the items do not have descriptions, luckily I had been here before so I knew what the perfect bowl entailed

Coffee Shop No. 410 Outer Bean…read moreKitty Hawk, NC September 5, 2024 If there is one thing I have learned over the last two in and a half years it's that a genuine smile and a warm greeting goes a really long way. It can transform an ordinary drink into something special. It makes the magic of coffee last throughout the entire day. I was immediately welcomed when I walked into the Outer Bean. Initially, I was bummed because cortados were not on the menu. I asked the barista if she would try to make one. She said sure. I gave her general directions and she walked to the espresso machine. A couple of minutes later she handed me a cup with two shots of espresso and a stainless steel pitcher with steamed milk. The barista said, "Why don't you add the milk in so you get it just the way you want." I thought this was a thoughtful gesture. I thanked her and made my cortado. We chatted a bit. It turned out she is Thai and my husband is Thai; and I love to talk about Thailand. I took a few pictures. We exchanged goodbyes and I exited the cafe with a genuine smile and a very positive impression of the Outer Bean. Smiles are free and they can elevate and/or improve any situation. Plus, folks always look better when they smile. I hope you make this world a better place by sharing your smile with someone today. Thank you to the barista at Outer Bean who shared her smile and made my day brighter. Enjoying life one cortado at a time!

It got the job done as I enjoy one cup a day and was a bit behind schedule. The place is small, but perfect for a coffee shop where take out is mostly occurring.

Barrier Island Bagels offers a variety of bagel sandwich options, build your own bagels with different spreads, and there are cocktails available, too! Fancy! On our visit we were seated pretty fast even though the place was full. Our server was friendly and attentive. My husband and I really enjoyed the two toasted bagel sandwiches we ordered and shared. One was sweet and the other savory. There were several customers picking up orders and the counter stayed busy with walk-ins, too. This is definitely a popular, fun, and cozy option for locals and tourists alike.

Orders fly, steam hisses, the baristas move like synchronized squirrels, and you clutch your cup, scanning the room for moderately quiet refuge.
