Restaurant. It's in a cute little hidden spot.

Let me first state how cute the Juice Jar is location wise. It's like a little cottage from a book. It's nearly hidden behind, if I'm not mistaken, a house that's a museum. I was greeted and showed the menu. There are several smoothies and açaí bowls to offer. To fit my allergies, I tailored my smoothie by asking for almond milk instead. I will add that while ordering and asking questions on how to tailor my smoothie, I observed bags of frozen fruit from a grocery Let me first state how cute the Juice Jar is location wise. I will add that while ordering and asking questions on how to tailor my smoothie, I observed bags of frozen fruit from a grocery store. I was hoping that it was fresh fruit to make the stand stand out from a homemade smoothie. Although the smoothie was a cool refresher, it was a bit bland/watered-like. Would've like something sweet to bring out the fruit flavor.

Acai bowl with bee pollen-SO yummy!!

For breakfast we wanted to have the Juice Jar again which is a really awesome spot in Corolla. We went yesterday and it was so good we had to come back today. We ordered a breakfast burrito which had cheese, egg and salsa. It is, no joke, amazing. The acai bowl tasted so good. It was perfectly sweet with the blueberries, strawberries, banana and bee pollen (added). The pine island juice was so sweet and refreshing. The zen was refreshing and healthy. I love that they use a lot of organic and quality products and the smoothies are all fruit and no ice. What! Yes, it's true. My favorite was the muddy monkey smoothie: predominantly spinach, banana, peanut butter. There's no melt down of the smoothies because it's all fruit! I don't think I've had a better smoothie anywhere else. Everything there is so consistently made. Jeff the owner and all his workers are just awesome too! They are SO friendly and nice. They are really careful and concerned when you have allergies as well. They made my food and beverages and reassured me that everything was made with attention to my allergies when I got my order. If you have allergies you know what I mean! You won't find a cooler place or better quality smoothies, bowls and burritos. I can't wait till I get to come back here again!

We went two separate times because it was so good! Both the smoothies and açaí bowls were some of the best we have ever had! Definitely recommend this spot in Historic Corolla Village.

This is such a cute little hidden spot! It is kinda hidden from the road. Quiet atmosphere with several chairs and picnic tables to sit at. We brought our pup with us and it was just fine. There are lots of shaded areas. You just order and pick up at the window so no need to worry about having to go inside if you have a dog with you. We got the Corolla Sunrise which was awesome. My significant other got the breakfast burrito which was great! The egg was cooked perfectly. I had gotten the Cali Caprese which was great. It had a lot of spinach in it. Overall, I would definitely return!

Juice Jar has a garden right out behind their store - can't get anymore farm to table than that!

They use veggies from their garden out back for their juices and wraps - talk about farm to table. This is the real deal. Had the Zen juice - delish!! - refreshing. And, had my first (and best) Acai bowl - the Whalehead. I can highly recommend both. My husband had the hummus wrap and enjoyed it. The outdoor seating is wonderful. They do offer biodegradable straws, however, I was glad I brought my own reusable cold-beverage cup to avoid a plastic one. Next time I'll remember my reusable utensils. You might want to consider the same. The owner is definitely aware of plastic in our environment, and of course composts scraps for their garden. Worth the maze-like twists and turns to find this adorable spot. Just keep following your GPS. And, bonus(!) its a half mile from the Currituck Lighthouse. If you get a little peckish after climbing the 220 steps to the top plan to stop at the Juice Jar.

Juice Jar is a refreshing change from the many pizzerias and seafood places in the Outer Banks. Their smoothies are delicious and loaded with fresh ingredients. I would have liked more vegan options with either peanut or almond butter mixed in. My sister got the Purple Plunge and I would recommend getting it just to experience its beautiful vivid purpleness-I've never seen anything like it. I liked that they also had acai bowls. However, they were too expensive; they should only be a maximum of a dollar more than a smoothie. In addition to this place providing you a detox with their menu, their seating does the same. Juice Jar itself is only a simple little shack and all the seating is outside in what appears to be someone's back yard. There is a cute chair swing you can relax in with your smoothie. But beware the amount of wildlife that is around. When I went in September, dragonflies were all over us!

Nor'easter with gluten free granola, strawberries instead of blueberries, and almond butter instead of peanut butter!
    Liz P.

Had delicious açaí bowls here - accommodating to customizations in their standard bowls, even have gluten free granola which was awesome! Worth the wait and cost for freshly prepared bowls that weren't artificially sweet - real açaí! Enjoyed sitting outside and a tasty breakfast in Corolla. Dog friendly - staff brought out dog treats and water bowl for the couple next to us with two pups!

We went with the Karma. It's terrific!

We went with the Karma and Muddy Monkey. Both were excellent. Sort of hard to find but worth it.

We been following them on Instagram and finally today got a chance to drive here from Nags Head. We love this cozy corner and highly recommended if you are looking for a delicious smoothie in Corolla!

Took 20 minutes for two simple drinks. Drinks were alright but nothing special. Price was absurd. Would not recommend.

I really enjoyed each of the dish and all the beers that are on a tap is the highlight of the restaurant. There are two long tables in the middle for larger groups. The seats are surrounded by TVs and a great spot for the family. The second shift breakfast burger is delicious! The Pork belly BLT is also more refined and will please finer palates. The crispy apple jack chicken has all the ingredients for a delicious sandwich. But I would replace the 3 chicken tenders for a large chunk of chicken breast. That would make the sandwich perfect. Pass the Salt is a cute little country cafe operated by the sweetest people!…read more It deserves more than a 5 star rating. This was our second visit. Our family of 5 dropped by in the early afternoon on a Wednesday. We were warmly greeted, seated and made to feel comfortable and at home. The decor is simple and cute. Several tables are constructed of old doors, decorated and covered with glass. Many other artistic and creative decorative touches highlight this cute cafe. There is a good selection of beer, wine and specialty drinks as well as a great assortment of soft drinks. The menu has a wide selection of apps, sandwiches and salads (all unique and intriguing) I am a guy who enjoys a great burger from the great selection. I ordered the "Double Ringer Burger" and added bacon. I just found the best burger that I ever had! Two perfectly seasoned burgers were seared on both sides and perfectly pink in the middle. They were served on a tasty brioche bun with three deep fried onion rings and highlighted with a special sauce. All of the selections chosen by our group earned great reviews from my family. Portions are generous and served with a choice of sides. The house-made desserts sound delicious, but none of us had room to partake. Pass The Salt is well worth the drive from Sandbridge (1 hour).
