We went here three times over the course of a vacation. Didn't have a great experience--the service was pretty slow every time despite them not being understaffed. Definitely room for improvement. It would also be great if they had small (8oz) cups for cappuccinos. read more

Made a spur of the moment decision to come get a coffee from Doppio and was not disappointed. I have heard good things about Vietnamese iced coffees so I wanted to try one. I added some SF Caramel syrup just for fun and it was delicious. Definitely a different taste and feel than a regular coffee (obviously) but I was pleasantly surprised. The guy working was so friendly and kind and loved that me and the rest of my party added some flavor to the Vietnamese coffees which is apparently less common. I will be coming back soon! read more

Came across this coffee spot on Yelp and when the coffee at breakfast was brown water, I needed something to hit the spot. This place did the trick. Definitely give them a try. They have coffee, espresso, lattes, teas and gelato. They serve affogato! I plan to go back for that. The specialty lattes look good, though a bit pricey. I went with a Vietnamese coffee. First time having one and I was disappointed, but don't blame the coffee shop! I will go back and try a latte. The staff was friendly, even dealing with some obnoxious and annoying customers in front of me. I may go back tomorrow for that affogato! read more

Very expensive for what they serve. They do not have cafe style beverages in the right proportions. A cappuccino is served in a 16oz cup. It's unfortunate because their espresso does taste good alone. If they could expand their traditional cafe beverages and make them the right size this could be much better. read more

This was probably one of the most expensive lattes I have ever gotten. At $9, I had high expectations, but the S Turns tasted just like the description of dark chocolate and coconut, and it was the perfect level of sweetness. My one friend took a sip and said it was the best latte that she has ever had. I still think that it's a bit overpriced, but I would definitely come back again or get this. They also have a bunch of other specialty lattes and cool drinks, as well as gelato! read more

Cute little coffee shop! Went here a few times during our visit to Corolla. Staff was always friendly and willing to customize any drink. Only thing I will say is the coffees are very milky tasting. Not sure if the beans they use are very milk or the espresso to milk ratio is off, but I wished they were more espresso'y' lol my mom got the golden hour twice and raved about how good it was! read more

I highly recommend Doppio for gelato and more. This place is very unique and there is nothing like it in Corolla. The ambience is very inviting and beautiful. The breakfast hand pies are out of this world. The coffee selection is vast and very good. The people working there are cheerful and friendly free excellent service. Not a great experience. Employee was more engaged with coworker in on their day off than helping customers. Waited in line while one employee was busting their butt making all the drinks while the other talked to friend not taking any orders while line sat stagnant. Coffee was okay but not worth dealing witservice. read more

Nice coffee shop. They have a great menu selection of coffee, gelato, etc. and it's tasty! The affogato was great! A few of the specialty items such as the bullet coffee were a bit overpriced, but higher prices are typical for anywhere in Outer Banks so nothing unusual there! I would recommend it. read more

We had a lovely experience. We got an iced mocha and an iced Salty Mermaid latte. Both were absolutely delicious and perfectly decadent without being overbearing. A little pricey but well worth it. We'll be going back. The staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. read more

Super cute and dog friendly! The strawberry gelato had huge chunks for fresh strawberry and the sea salt caramel was to die for! Initially, I was bummed because cortados were not on the menu. I asked the barista if she would try to make one. She said sure. I gave her general directions and she walked to the espresso machine. A couple of minutes later she handed me a cup with two shots of espresso and a stainless steel pitcher with steamed milk. The barista said, "Why don't you add the milk in so you get it just the way you want." I thought this was a thoughtful gesture. I thanked her and made my cortado. We chatted a bit. It turned out she is Thai and my husband is Thai; and I love to talk about Thailand. I took a few pictures. We exchanged goodbyes and I exited the cafe with a genuine smile and a very positive impression of the Outer Bean. Smiles are free and they can elevate and/or improve any situation. Plus, folks always look better when they smile. I hope you make this world a better place by sharing your smile with someone today. Everything is walkable and it's so easy to explore the area. Hit the tiny Corolla Village BBQ shack for great pork bbq sandwiches $10 (top off your sando with their coleslaw yum!), check out the famous Corolla lighthouse and stop in to the lighthouse gift shop, visit the maritime museum, stroll by the beautiful yellow painted Whalehead Club mansion, browse the Island Bookstore, visit the Wildlife Education Center / Museum or just be lazy and bring a chair and a book and camp out on a grassy spot overlooking the sound. The worker was manning the cashier and putting donuts in boxes although she did have gloves, the gloves didn't seem to be getting changed. Not sure if some people down south have taste but the line to this place was long. There were flies everywhere. Although the staff were nice, they are understaffed and not clean.
