Best place in SC, I go there every Sunday for there blueberry fritter, and my daughter loves there regular donuts. There Columbian coffee is amazing and their croissant pockets are always hit and fresh when I walk in, everytime I have family visiting I make sure to get surfin donuts for us. Also they have great costumer service, even when I walk in at 430 on a Friday to pick up some donuts for my guys at work, they all have smiles on their faces. I understand this is a family restaurant, but the daughter (I assume) should not work here if she carries an attitude. People drive here early morning to grab their coffee and donut, and expect to be treated pleasantly. She wasn't even close. I ordered A croissant sandwich with a cup of coffee that was 9.75 and way overpriced. That's not what bothered me the most, it was the attitude because when asked about slice of tomato and side of black pepper was told we don't carry that stuff. I was going to get a dozen donuts from here the other day, but walked in and noticed a few disappointments: First, their frosting on their donuts was crusty and dull. The taste was okay except for the fact that they had to load it on each bar because it was not a silky frosting. Secondly, their prices are quite steep. No way will I go here if I can go to Donut House and get a dozen for $10. Not a place I will visit again. It's been a few months since this visit, but not only was the dog greeted by staff, it was allowed to put paws up on the counter. Love dogs, just prefer not to eat after them in restaurants. Came to get donuts for my customer. Whenever I go to any donut shop I tell them assorted meaning mix it up. They ran me up for $66 for three dozen. I questioned her $66 for what. She said dozen $17 each ok but that's not $66 she said oh big ones are more. I didn't ask for them I just said assorted how am I suppose to know what's more expensive. I told her I didn't appreciate her putting those without asking. Told her to remove them. I reminded her that bad business. This place has good donuts, but that's it. There's 4-5 signs saying they serve breakfast (bagels and croissants) but they won't make you anything unless it's premade. I have been here a handful of times over a 6 month period and they always have the same excuses. "We have no grill" or "We are still making donuts" which is nonsense since you don't deep fry an egg & cheese sandwich. The coffee is watered down gas station coffee in 10 different blends. These donuts hit the spot for us. It was a 10 min drive from San Onofre Bluffs campground and at 7:30am the display was loaded with everything still. They also had a large selection of gourmet coffee. We will visit again soon when we come north into OC. read more

Superb donuts in San Clemente! Owners have an awesome beach rental that we were lucky enough to enjoy for a week and we decided to stop by Surfin' Donuts for some coffee and fried doughy goodness. Donuts did not disappoint- fresh, tasty and affordable! Staff was friendly, place was busy (always a good sign, right?) and everyone had that beachy positive vibe. Located near the end of the SC strip, easy access in and out. We ended up sampling a few varieties of donuts and our family consensus was that the cake donuts were best- especially when enjoyed on the San Clemente coastline! read more

Cute little greasy cafe right on the main drag. Our local friends suggested this little place for its big portions and yummy menu and they weren't lying.... BIG PORTION is right! It was around 11 so there weren't too many donuts on display and I wasn't that hungry but I can almost always manage some eggs so I got a breakfast burrito and planned on eating half... Our smarter friends ordered eggs & potatoes which looked great but I try to be a bit more adventurous when eating away from home. This location has its own parking lot (a rarity in San Clemente!) and a few tables inside as well as a nice sunshiny patio on which to enjoy your breakfast. The staff is very young but friendly and knowledgeable. They take your order then you have a number to pick up either inside at the order counter OR there is a pick up window that opens to the outside patio as well. I don't know what made me do it, but I thought ordering the chorizo burrito (same as my husband) was a good idea... for me? Its possible the years of SOY-rizo I've eaten that tricked me into thinking this was a good idea. NOTE: although spiced the same, soyrizo & chorizo will never BE the same. My burrito came looking like a roided-out guido.... big, orange, and glistening! Needless to say, I've made better choices. I know its my fault, and I'm sure many patrons (including my husband!) love this burrito but I just am not one of them. I cut the burrito open and poked around to find some eggs/cheese I could manage and ended up giving the rest to my husband. Although he loves him some meat, he was feeling a bit queasy from the grease overload as well so I ended up tossing the rest. Next time I might follow my much wiser "regular" friend and try one of the bowls or a salsa & avocado omelet... one things for sure, that will be the last time I order chorizo here... or anywhere for that matter! However, I was not impressed, I did not llove the bagel I ordered, coffee was weak and sugar donuts were falling apart, too much sugar and it wasn't fine. Service could be better, they are not too friendly, more rushed than anything. I paid almost $20 today and I was not happy with anything, this is an expensive place.
