First time customer tonight and definitely disappointed. Ordered 2, 3combo dinners 1. Chicken terri, shrimp katzu, salmon sashimi OUR REVIEW: Shrimp katzu was a first for us and prob last. First time having ebi used vs. a regular tempura shrimp. Not a huge fan; there was too much batter. The sashimi was good. The teriyaki sauce was pretty salty. 2. Beef terri, California roll, tuna roll under their standard roll options, but as you can see received a tuna handroll. OUR REVIEW: it was an OLD cali roll so the rice was dried out and hard. YUCK. The beef was CHEWY and COLD and the terri sauce was SALTY. (I don't like my beef cut in strips but could deal with it if the other issues didn't exist. ) My tuna handroll was whatever, especially when I didn't order a handball and had a distinct conversation with the young man who took the order that they were smaller rolls "not as big as California roll size" (yes I'm aware of tekka maki's rolls). VERY disappointed and dissatisfied. Likely we'll not be ordering here again. There were too many negatives. The miso soup also needed to be re-warmed. The only thing that was good was the salad and the salmon sashimi. Miyako hasn't disappointed us, so we'll continue our business there. read more

Came here today for the first time and was really disappointed. I ordered the edamame, which had a lot of salt on top, was dry, and some pieces tasted bad. I also ordered a California roll, but it had very little flavor. We also ordered a bento box with chicken teriyaki, a California roll, and tempura. The tempura was extremely oily and had a bad taste. The rice in the bento box was cold, dry, and hard. The teriyaki chicken seemed like it was taken from a rotisserie chicken and simply topped with teriyaki sauce, rather than being freshly prepared. Unfortunately, the food made me sick, and because of this experience, I won't be returning. read more

Got the 49er roll, Rainbow roll, spicy yellowtail rolls, spicy tuna roll and cucumber salad. First of all, take a hard pass on the cucumber salad. Definitely bland and not worth $8. Tasted like diluted rice vinegar and cucumber. The spicy rolls were average at best but I guess it can't be over the top amazing. The specialty rolls were cut in large pieces so we're not easy to eat. Overall just okay and at least the fish wasn't rubbery. read more

I've been to this restaurant before more than a handful of times and it seems like the quality continues to get worse every time. The sushi wasn't very enjoyable this visit and it took over an hour to get it while dining in person. Only about 5 tables (including mine) needed service since no one else was dining in at the time and it was a ridiculous amount of time. Server was nice like usual, I see her often. I just don't understand why the obscene wait time for sushi to be most likely over an hour and a half wait. read more

This was our first time here in many years and I know ownership has changed since our last visit. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Our standout was the masubi, because it's my daughter's favorite food and it was amazing! We can usually only find masubi on food truck nights in Hollister. They had a great looking menu for ramen, which I will have next time since my favorite pho place in town closed down. I can't say enough about the service. I really wanted to try this business after a local recommended the sushi here but the ambiance was so bad that I left seconds after stepping in to this restaurant. This building/restaurant is in major need of upkeep and no one should be eating raw fish out of a restaurant with such a bad odor. The smell alone made me nauseous and I would not consider returning unless they make some meaningful change in this regard. I feel bad for the owners because maybe it's a building issue but you shouldn't be serving food here. read more

There was very little fish in the sushi, rolls were mostly rice and the taste was bland. There was more flavor from the toppings on the rolls than from the actual sushi rolls. Pricing was average. read more

You couldn't fault a restaurant for trying any harder than they did. Very friendly, a slight language barrier, which created a slight order mistake. Nothing that can't be fixed. Maybe they shouldn't use such low cost beef in their teriyaki because it was pretty tough. The rice for the sushi was strange so small. Not sure if we will return anytime soon. if i could leave 0 stars i would. i arrived at 4:30 when they opened and immediately got sat. we waited 15 minutes before anyone even came to introduce themselves, after our order was taken we waited 30 minutes for our food to arrive. the fried california roll was DRY i have never had a dry california roll. after we finished our food they immediately started cleaning our table and put the check on the table. we paid and were talking for 5 minutes after and they came to us again asking if we could leave because they had a reservation of 8. if you knew you had a reservation for 8 why would you seat people in that area. poor communication between staff and poor service. never going again. don't rush you customers because you guys can't plan accordingly read more

We are new to Hollister and looking for a good sushi restaurant. Supreme Sushi had pretty good reviews on Yelp so we were excited to try it. Unfortunately, we never even got seated! We walked in and completely ignored. Nobody greeted us and there were 2 sushi chefs at the bar, one woman standing at the counter, and several servers that passed us while we were standing there. Not once did anyone make eye contact, say they would be with us in a minute, or even give us a welcoming smile. After waiting about 10 minutes, we walked out. I ordered the chirashi. It was disappointing. A real sushi place gives your 5 to 7 kinds of fish. Here, I got yellow tail, salmon, tuna, and one shrimp. A real sushi place would give you butterfish, egg, eel, and roe, There was no wasabi or white ginger. On top of this, I had to pay 3.5% in credit processing fees. Staff was rude. I walked in to place an order and was not greeted by he guy behind the counter. I stood at the register and waited and waited and waited. The lady was busy packing up another order and said nothing to me. I thought this was extremely rude. The least she could have done was said that she would be with me in a minute. This happened last time, too, with the guy behind the counter. He cared more about looking at his cell phone both times than he did helping a customer. They are rude and do not appreciate their customers. I would not return to this place again. They have a monopoly in Hollister, being one of just two sushi places. My son invited me to a birthday lunch, and we both ordered the same meal. We had the Bento box, which included chicken teriyaki and salmon, but we requested no teriyaki sauce. We also shared the Lion King roll. The meal was a perfect 10 out of 10, and the Lion King roll was delicious, ranking among my top favorites. Food is good and the price is reasonable but the wait time for ordering and the food took more than an hour. I thought I came here for a quick lunch. End up took more time than I expected. The restaurant have two sides front and back, but they only have one waitress to do everything. I don't blame the waitress, she was doing her best to serve all her customers. For 4 adults and 2 kids we ordered the following. I loved that they provided all the soy sauce, wasabi etc., without asking. Caterpillar roll, california roll, fantasy roll, Philadelphia roll, 2 item bento box + salad + miso soup, flaming hot Cheeto roll, crunchy roll and a large mixed sashimi. Descent pricing, mixed sashimi was fresh, rolls were all decently stuffed, would definitely order again. Parking is street parking. Seems like the restaurant may be open all day(?) Favorite spot for sushi in Hollister. I have been a big fan of them since they started on Instagram and were delivering during the pandemic. Great value and delicious! First time here but I will come back and update the review if needed. First of all, the lady that greeted and served me was truly a nice lady. You can tell from her eyes and smile. The gentlemen working behind the sushi bar were very serious making sushi. However, you glance at them and you'll get a smile. I noticed the most of the folks that came here were local regulars (except me). Would that me be next? The lunch and food here price wise is better than the other one in town, was the food less delicious and authentic? The answer is no. In fact, I like their IKA GESo here better..why? Well, here they give you lemon wedges with it that you can use with soy sauce and wasabi to dip your Geso (personal game changer and enjoyment for my palette!) and the batter has more flavor and crispier. Why did I not give 5 stars, only one constructive comment and had spoken to the nice lady server about it. So they can work on it and customers will give them 5 stars! She took it really well and promised to work on it (that should give my lost star back). I will return in a few days to see if I change my 4 stats to 5 OR not. Will I return?
