While I don't come here for gas, I was forced here for the HI-5 recycling redemption service, ran by Aloha Recycling. I usually patronize the location next to UHMC but their redemption center has been closed for several weeks already due to staffing, but you can still drop off recyclables there. Tucked in between the gas station and car wash is the small, dirty and bustling operation. Grab one of the netted carts, dump your separated goods in them and wheel it to the attendant. They'll print out a receipt which you take to the gas station's window cashier who'll disperse your money. OVERALL: Do your part and recycle!

You can park your vehicle close to the refill station so no lugging tanks and waiting for someone to unlock a cabinet of exchange tanks like you do at a big box store. Current price (April 2024) is $5.90 per gallon plus tax. An empty 20-lb cylinder will accept about 4.5 gallons. This is a good value because the "exchange" places B--e R---o may seem cheaper but they typically only fill their cylinders with 15-lbs of propane which is about 3.5 gallons. Whenever I'm on Maui, I usually find myself going to this particular gas station a lot..........mainly to refill the gas tank on my rental vehicle, because the prices at this gas station are a bit lower than the other gas stations around town, but don't get me wrong, there is absolutely no one that can beat the Costco gas station......as they are da KING of cheap gasoline! And the other reason why I come here is because I am a responsible car renter, where I actually refill the gas tank on my rental car...........unlike some scummy renters who do not refill the tank, only to tell the rental clerk that they did (I hate that!), because sometimes I take out a rental, only to find out the tank wasn't really full! Just your standard gas station/car wash & convenience store.......never washed a car here, nor did I ever buy anything from the convenience store. The employees are great, friendly and know what they're doing. I never have problems when I go during my lunch break sometimes after going to my PO box nearby. The evening shift however, there always seems to be a problem. I ask for a certain amount of gas they put in the wrong amount, I ask for a certain item that's clearly labeled on the counter, she gets it wrong over and over again. After work today, I told the cashier "i can see it right here," i point to it (an adult beverage shot in the display case on the counter. Dont judge lol)...she grabs the wrong one several times. Can she not read English ? does she need a new prescription of glasses?....I look around because I think I'm on candid camera. No candid camera, just a line of lots of people waiting....Am I speaking another language to this cashier?? I'm a very patient customer but I started to get very upset today and might've raised my voice a tad bit. Lord forgive me. Perhaps just an off day.
