I would love to give Super Shuttle zero stars, but it's not an option. I booked a shuttle from Manhattan to EWR for 1:30am...at 12:30am, I got a call from a driver saying that since no one else booked a ride, that my ride is being cancelled. THANKS FOR THE F-ING NOTICE! As anyone who flies out of EWR knows, the NJ transit train is not running at that hour, so you are kinda forced to either leave super early if you want to take the train...or book a shuttle/bus. I booked the shuttle well in advance because I'm too lazy to go to the airport super early to catch the NJ Transit train...I wish they had given me the same courtesy of cancelling my shuttle in advance so that I could make alternative arrangements. It ended up being very stressful and put a bad vibe on the beginning of our trip to Mexico. I would recommended NOT using SuperShuttle. Go with the Newark Liberty Bus, or take the train. Zero stars. Just 3 minutes late after the 15 minute window. Super nice guy driver. Drove like a beast and caused few of us to be car sick by time we got to JFK. No reason for that much of a rush. $40 o/w for 2 people. Very affordable. 10 passenger van on 4 stops so not bad timing. I'd definitely use again. read more

Don't do it!! I booked the Super Shuttle from JFK to Manhatten to save money on a cab..big mistake!! It took them a long time to pick us up at the airport..when they did, the shuttle was so packed here was no room for luggage so they put it in the doorway. Then it took forever to get to the hotel because they had so many stops to drop people off..spend the money for a cab..it isn't worth the small savings to lose so much time getting to your destination! read more

For me the most dreaded part of every trip is the one from my home to the airport. There is always traffic. I'm worried about making my flight, struggling with luggage, and I don't want to pay for a cab. Super Shuttle took all the stress and effort out of this part of the journey. Never take this-we waited 1 1/2 hours for them to fill the shuttle then we were the last stop so another 3 hours-arrived in Newark at 7 am and got to nyc hotel at 11:30 am- paid for round trip and on return (after waiting on hold for 30 min ) we were told pick up was 4:50 am for a 9:15 am flight on a Sunday morning (no traffic) so we took an Uber and got here in 30 minutes they said it was a busy morning and they could not guarantee we would make our flight read more

I've had a horrible experience with Supershuttle. I've used them in the past with no problem, so I'm really upset how downhill this company has gone over the years. I booked a ride to JFK airport and was supposed to be picked up about 3 hours prior to my flight. I received a text update that the pickup would be later than scheduled. Spoke to the guy 3 different times on the phone. He told me the other pickup was "late". At this point, he still wasn't there and on the locator map link he was driving away from my location. I had no choice but to get a regular Uber which cost me $70. To make matters worse, there's no customer service. I call the number and there is zero help from the supervisor. I'm told that after Supershuttle's screw up that I now have to go online, fill out a form and then wait up to 7 days for a response/refund? Okay. Fine. I'll go online and while I'm at it, you also get a one star Yelp review. And I'll call my bank and tell them this is a fraudulent charge for services I didn't receive. read more

We arrived in NYC and there was a super shuttle at the airport. The driver accepted our ride so we didn't have to wait for the next driver to arrive. The trip into the city was an experience I won't forget, however I don't think any driver could have done better. Our trip back to the airport was the same. Driver picked us up on time and we made it to the airport within the given time. We were also able to see different areas of the city based on his route. No complaints about the service. If I could give zero stars I would. Upon arriving to the airport we waited about 20 minutes to get picked and it was another 15 minutes before we left the actual airport after picking up 2 more families. Booking super shuttle we anticipated a straight ride from the airport to our hotel... Man we were mistaken. It was more like an unwanted tour of Manhattan. Traffic was nothing worse than the usual New York City traffic but I will say it took us 2 and a half hours to get from La Guardia to our hotel on 33rd Street. Having mapped it before our trip it stated the ride should be no more than 45 minutes. We would have been better off using public transportation. Also upon booking and payment there was the option to tip the the driver, so I did. Upon entering the the shuttle there was a sticker stating gratuity not included in fair. I was confused as to where pick up was since I've never been to that airport and I requested the driver contact me for clarification, but he never did. I've never encountered such a horrific experience! I politely asked the driver where he was going next, and his response took me by surprise (as well as the other passengers) as he was extremely rude. He questioned why I was asking as he didn't seem to understand why I was asking in the first place. When he confirmed that I was to be dropped off next, he continued to be extremely rude and even racist, telling me to speak English better (even though I was born here and have an American accent!). At this point I was angry and upset, and once I was dropped off, he didn't help me get my bag from the back of the van, which was amongst many heavy boxes and bags. When I turned around to walk to my residence, he grabbed my heavy bag in a harsh way, and began yelling at me, telling me that I need to pay. I kept telling him that I did pay and even waited for him to get a pen and paper to write down my confirmation number. And of course it was confirmed that I did pay. I feel uneasy that he has access to my details including my address. The way he looked at me after he abruptly grabbed my bag I've never felt so threatened in my life. Awful, just awful. The shuttle was 2+ hours late in both directions. The people on the phone kept saying "the driver is 5 minutes away." Two hours later he shows up and takes quite possibly the longest route possible to get to JFK. Both drivers had a cruddy attitude and threw luggage around like trash. The poor Dutch students in our van almost missed their international flight because of Super Shuttle. Just take a cab! Its easier and worth the money. Arrival to LaGuardia and trip to Hotel: HOT. It was 80 degrees plus and the shuttle had little-to-no air. They do pack you in like sardines in a can so beware of that. The shuttles are very uncomfortable. Other individuals riding with us had to deal with payment issues. The representative at the desk quoted them one price ($18) and the driver argued with them to pay differently ($27). Also overheard a woman on the shuttle who had super shuttle reservation issues...as in she wanted to change her time, was told she could not, so she decided to keep her previous time. Instead the Super Shuttle people cancelled it. So when she arrived to the air port she had to wait for hours to get a spot on a shuttle. Leaving - Hotel to LaGuardia: Our flight was at noon and we were told we had to be picked up at 7:30am because apparently the super shuttle people thought it would take three hours at that time to get from the Times Square area out to the airport (it only took a half-hour...including picking up other riders). Also we got out to the shuttle early and the driver told us our pickup time was 7:20 (?). Good thing we got out there at 7:19 I guess. Bottom Line: Rude drivers, and desk reps that don't do their job. The drivers and reps can't keep their prices straight. Pickup times are set for you with no thought to the customer. My advice is to try a different shuttle service or just pony-up the money for a taxi....as our concierge suggested for our trip back to the airport. read more

So after reading all the bad reviews I still decided to take a chance with supershuttle. This trip was from lower east side to JFK. The window for arrival of the car was 4 to 4 15 pm. But I get a call at 340 pm. I was all ready and as soon as I step downstairs it was right outside my bldg. I was left behind after making a reservation online days before. I was told that "there were none in the area and it would take at least an additional hour and a half to get to me" after already waiting a half hour. I managed to flag down an Airlink Shuttle at my terminal and as we past by another terminal, I saw 2 SuperShuttles there waiting empty. The Airlinke Shuttle driver said that they make shady cash side deals and will blow off the pre-paid because the company has to pay for the refunds, the ones that follow through enough on it and it doesn't effect the money they pocket. Take Airlink Shuttle, cheaper and far more accommodating. read more

This was for Laguardia (SP) to Manhatten. It was so frustrating I think my bloodpressure soared to heart attack stage. Long and short we waited almost 2 hours for the pick up. Shuttles kept going by but never for Manhatten. I had to call 4 (maybe 5 times) to get a confirmation they were EVER coming. Don't be afraid to take the super shuttle. It's a fine way to get to Manhattan. Sure it takes a while for them to pick you up and the traffic situation in the city is pretty intense, but the van is comfortable, the driver was pleasant, and for $25 it's a simple and sure fire way to get delivered to your door. Company is highly unprofessional. Canceled my shuttle 15 minutes before my departure time during Christmas holiday. I was left without ride. When I called to complain I was hung up on 3 times and transferred over and over again until finally I asked to speak directly to supervisor right away. Supervisor explained that they would pay for my entire taxi to airport. I even have email confirmation that the supervisor stated this. They are not refusing to refund the money. They have not responded to phone calls and several emails directly from myself to supervisor. Horrible company, highly unprofessional, surprised how they are still in business after reading reviews and my experience. Furthermore, my husband booked with them before my experience with them, they were 2 hours late for his pickup. Do not use this company. The worst service ever... I used super shuttle in SF and had a great experience that's why I booked again when I was traveling in NYC. At JFK I had to wait 60 mins+ to pick me up and then the van was so full and overloaded that everybody was complaining...Long story short, I landed in JFK at 7:30 pm, I ended up at my hotel at 11:00 pm...just terribly inconvenient. So, on the way back to JFK, I was waiting for 25 mins no van showed up and I kept receiving automated calls that the van is waiting for me. I had to take a cab not to miss my flight. This is the worst customer service that I've ever had in my life. Not only were the SuperShuttle representatives rude and unempathetic over the phone, but also the driver was very unprofessional and malicious. From looking at the previous reviews, I guess I have been one of the lucky ones who has had a good experience with SuperShuttle-friendly, good driver, although he did arrive way before my a green upon window period. My only comment is that I am unsure as to who we are tipping when we make the booking online. There are signs inside the vans stating that tip is not included in the voucher or ticket. It does not make sense that we are tipping SuperShuttle-my understanding would be that this would go to the driver. I booked a Super Shuttle well in advance for a service from Bowery street to Laguardia. My pick up time was supposed to be @ 11:05 am. I called them @ 11:35 am to tell them that the shuttle didn't arrive. I was on hold for about 10 minutes and at the end of that was disconnected - I didn't even get the opportunity to talk to a service representative!!! By 12 pm I had given up and called a cab to take me to the airport. I understand that traffic is really bad in New York, BUT THE LEAST THEY CAN DO IS CALL TO TELL ME THAT THEY AREN'T COMING!!!!! I received a call from Super Shuttle an hour before my scheduled pick-up announcing they were cancelling my reservation to Newark for an international flight. When I asked for an explanation, the representative told me that they could not guarantee getting me to the airport in time for my flight (they called me around 4:30 and my flight was not until 10:00pm). This left me scrambling to find another way to Newark.. I did receive a response from their Customer Service Team offering an apology and instructions on how to receive a refund for any additional costs to me. I explained that it's unlikely that I would use their service again as they were not reliable, and that I hadn't received an adequate explanation as to why my reservation was cancelled in the first place. It's really a pity that there is not a reliable shuttle service to and from the NYC area airports. Like so many others posting their reviews, I will find another way to travel. read more

Fool me once, it's your fault; fool me twice, it's mine. I should have learned my lesson after using SuperShuttle two years ago for a trip to Arizona. I WILL NEVER USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN!! They are downright awful!! This year, my wife and I traveled to New Mexico for a vacation. The morning service pick up was good and the driver was pleasant. However, the wheels came off when we returned from our trip on July 27, 2014. SuperShuttle requires customers to call for a pick-up reminder from the airport upon arrival. Our evening return flight had been delayed in Orlando and I called SuperShuttle to notify them that we would be landing 2 hours later than scheduled. I waited over 12 minutes on hold before a person picked up the phone.The receptionist thanked me for calling and told me a driver would be waiting for us at MacArthur Airport by 12:30am. I called the moment we landed (12:15am) and, after waiting another 16 minutes on hold, was told by another receptionist that they didn't have a driver in the area! (This is the same thing that I was told two year ago!!!) I asked her how this could have happened after I had called less than 3 hours earlier?! We had no choice but to wait because I prepaid for the service. My wife and I waited alone outside the terminal for over 1 hour! A police officer drove by us to ask if we were okay. I told him we were waiting for the SuperShuttle van to arrive, and his response was "you have my condolences." The SuperShuttle van finally arrived at 1:30am with one of the most unpleasant drivers I have ever met. He did not greet us or ask how we were. He just opened the van door and put out bags in. He clearly could care less about us as paying customers. As we departed the airport I told him that SuperShuttle drivers must feel like sitting ducks for angry customers who are left stranded at airports because of the company's bad dispatch practices. His sarcastic response? "It's late on a Sunday night and the drivers are all home in bed." He announced that all he was focused on was September 1, the day he was retiring. Are you kidding me? How can this company declare themselves a 24 hour service when they are ill equipped with such unprofessional drivers? My advice for this company? Get your dispatch system in order; stop making people wait 10-15 minutes on hold with telephone calls; hire better drivers without attitude problems! It is not my fault as a paying customer that your drivers are tired because it was late on Sunday night!! I gave your company more than ample notification that my flight was delayed in returning to Long Island and was treated like crap. I have had better transportation service in Europe. read more

So we book a "Super" Shuttle for an 11:10 pick up from our hotel to JFK. They said they would be there between 11:10 and 11:25 so we waited outside our hotel. At 11:35 I got an automated call saying the driver was 10 minutes away. He eventually turned up at 12:00. Then he tells us we have another two pick ups before we leave Manhattan. After the last two pick ups wading through traffic and taking the Queensboro Bridge he takes a detour through a neighbourhood that results us hitting more traffic. I assume the detour was to avoid tolls or something. Anyway, we end up getting to the airport at 13:50. Get an Uber, take a cab, get the train, even ride a skateboard before booking one of these things. If you do make the mistake of booking one, make sure you leave yourself at least 3 hours. read more

I can't believe this 'service' gets any repeat business. I guess I was lucky as I was the last passenger to be picked up. One person had already left to catch a taxi in order to get to a Broadway show. So I knew of course it was a shared ride but I wasn't expecting the first stop to be 113th when the rest of us were all south of Central Park. I actually got out at 55th on Lexington and walked to my hotel near Broadway and probably saved myself a bunch of time. It also got me away from the driver who spent the first half hour on the phone (hand held) on a private conversation dissing Super Shuttle. That was after he told us that the left hand indicator wasn't working. Horrible experience and so time consuming. The silver lining is it's incentivized me to sign up with uber for my return trip to JFK. Unless you've got tons of time to spare don't use this business. read more

If you are traveling alone then it might make sense monetarily for you to take Super Shuttle if you don't want to public transpo it. Just be warned that every time I have used them, I have waited quite a while for the van to arrive. Driver never showed! I had one phone call, went outside immediately and waited. When I called they said it'd be there soon and that it was just a warning call. Waited more, called again. This time they said I'd missed it and it was my fault. They refused to send another shuttle, I waited approximately an hour from my slot time before I had to take a taxi to the airport. "The worst shuttle experience of my life!!!" from the moment the driver picked my sister and myself up from AROUND the corner of the hotel till the moment I got on the plane at JFK." The reason for the until I got on the plane is due to the fact that the customer service agent was almost as off point with their job as the driver. I have never been spoken to or yelled at by anyone the way the driver yelled at me and my sister in a van of people, because he was in a MOOD!!! and we made a mistake on the gates and didn't answer him fast enough, so throwing his phone or whatever it was across his passenger seat fixed the problem. I have no respect for the customer service agent or the company as a whole, due to the fact I was missing my plane because of all the issues and the LONG call with the agent and said I had to go. They had all my information and how I was treated ... feeling in a hostile environment with an off balanced driver.... Good luck to you when taking the shuttle make sure not to make a mistake about anything in the vehicle or ask a dang question. My drivers main excuse was that ... "you people do not make concessions for the language barrier here, and you need to do that..."
