Decembers update ...Loving the SuperShuttle! I always give flight time 30 mins earlier than it is and have had no issues at all! About a year a 1/2 of no hassle pick ups. Awesome company to work with when my flight was cancelled due to weather 10 minutes before the driver arrived they were awesome about refunding my money. I use them every 6 weeks or so, without any issue. Highly recommend! read more

It was a really bad experience to have to use this service on LaGuardia airport to final district. First, at the airport they told us that it was going to be a 30min wait and it was actually a 50min wait. Second, the shuttle was totally full and finally, the total transportation time was 50min waiting and 2hrs driving. Please avoid this and use a can or subway. I hope this help other people save time. read more

Bad bad bad. I've had super shuttle experiences in other cities and they were great. Here? Not so much. -3 stars for DELETING my pick-up at the airport. Yeah, you heard me. I checked in at the counter, got my confirmation ticket, and waited. And waited. After waiting about 30 minutes, I went up to the desk and they said that the driver hasn't stopped by yet. I pointed out that I saw about 3 or 4 Super Shuttle drivers in the past 30 minutes come up to the counter and take people away. She said that they had earlier reservations. After another 30 minutes, where I saw people get escorted out who showed up AFTER me, I went up to the counter (a bit more pissy this time) and asked WTF was going on. Then they say, "OH, I'm sorry, someone cancelled your ticket." ARRRRRRGH!!!! Once I got on the shuttle, it took another 30 minutes of driving around EWR for stragglers (we only picked up 1 more person in that time) before we headed into the city. It's been years since I've utilized SuperShuttle and there is good reason for this. The last time I used their service I was taking a redeye out of JFK to head over to Amsterdam. The driver was 30 minutes late to pick us up..strike one. Then, apparently the first stop of the evening was to drop someone off at LGA..strike two. Which really delayed our drop off even more. THEN, the driver dropped us at the wrong Delta terminal (the moron dropped us off in the terminal going to the Middle East) and we ended up missing our flight because by the time we realized his error and got to the correct terminal they had closed the gates 10 minutes before we could get there... STRIKE 3!!! Not to mention it takes FOREVER. I say man up and pay the additional $20 (what is it like $15/pp) and get to and from your destination in a timely and comfortable matter. If you can't cut back on buying 40s for a week (because who uses this besides poor or really cheap people? or in my case really dumb.) in order to do so, then I suggest not traveling at all? read more

Waited 1.5 hours outside for driver at ewr. Customer service experience sucks. Uber woulda been cheaper

First the good news. This is cheap (if you book online in advance) and I only had to wait about 15 minutes for a van from LGA to midtown. But! You need to have time. According to google maps the trip should take 30 minutes In traffic but the van took 90 minutes. It takes a very circuitous route and I wasn't the last to be dropped off. It was also the scariest and uncomfortable ride I have had it very long time. The driver thought he was on a race track and the suspension nonexistent. I needed a change of underwear when I eventually got to the hotel. Needless to say I will be getting a cab on the way back. read more

We will never use SuperShuttle in the future. We were not able to schedule our pickup time. Instead SuperShuttle schedules the pickup time based solely on the flight schedule. In our case for 12 travelers the pickup time was scheduled much closer to our flight time than we were comfortable with, leaving zero allowance for traffic or other unexpected issues that might arise. To make matters worse, our shuttle never arrived and we were stranded. Fortunately we were leaving from Times Square in NYC and there were taxis coming and going. We ended up renting three van-type taxis and we barely made it to the airport on time. In fact, our flight was boarding while we were running to get to gate before they closed the door. The thing we learned was we could rent taxis on the spot for less than the SuperShuttle cost, without any of the hassle of scheduling in advance and hoping the shuttle arrives on time--or not at all. Seems super convenient~ easy website, paid beforehand (including a tip), $15 per person to get from LaGuardia to our hostal in Times Square. Not bad. And then you get to the booth at LaGuardia. And they are neither thrilled to see you nor patient with your non-native New Yorkerness. I had the address pre-entered, printed out and with me, and somehow she was still annoyed. The receipt listed a price that was less than what I had paid and she put me down as "Mr." I am not a mister. Then she said it was a 35 minute wait; when our driver showed up, he seemed very confused. We were packed into a non-heated (it's December, so I guess getting packed in kept us warm), rickety van. The driver talked on his phone about "partying after he dropped these cats off" and his friend who "got locked up" during the entire drive. Traffic at 935pm was still horrendous around Times Square and the view entering the city wasn't worth it~ take the subway. One girl requested mid-ride to get out so she could go find the subway... she did not care that she still had to pay in order to get to leave the van. read more

I admit to being apprehensive to use a shuttle service for transportation from and to LaGuardia on a recent NYC trip, but the service proved timely, safe, and cost-effective. Color me a fan. I even made a mistake. I was supposed to call in advance a minimum of at least 24 hours before my pick-up back to LGA. I didn't notice this until about 5 hours before I needed to depart. I called and they were able to accommodate me anyway. I preferred, too, the timely collection and the ability for me to track the driver's whereabouts on my phone. In addition, I permitted the receipt of text alerts to keep my informed of the schedule. At 1:26 PM I received this SMS: Your SuperShuttle driver (Max) has an ETA of 2:27 PM. Guess what time Max pulled up? 2:27 PM. Precisely. Considering New York City traffic, I think that's pretty good! I would not hesitate to use SuperShuttle on my next trip to the Big Apple. Based on my first and second experiences with their service, you shouldn't hesitate either. read more

SuperShuttle is not super. It's decent for $25 + $5 tip for the driver to drop a person off exactly where they need to be in NYC. Their driving is scary - swerving from lane to lane whether it's on the freeway or in-between side streets. But then again, it is New York and drivers there need to be aggressive throughout the hectic traffic. So, what's more important? My safety or speed? Lol. Also, I took a shuttle back to JFK from Flatiron at around 8:20am for an 11am flight. The shuttle was on time and got me to the airport by 9:30am. No complaints about the driving this time. Side Note: I would only take the SupperShuttle in NYC only if I'm not confident in navigating through the subway system by myself to places I've never been to, while carrying loads of luggage. They're a cheaper alternative than taking a taxi. read more

On a recent trip to New York City, I booked the Super Shuttle to go to my hotel at Times Square. I booked in advance both ways and saved some money. My bill was $72 for two persons to and from. So each trip per person was $18. The van holds up to 9 passengers. On each the inbound and outbound, there were four stops. I had planned on 1.5 hrs to and from. On the inbound, it took 1hr 5 min, and the outbound it took 1hr 15 min. Drivers were fast and efficient. Vans were clean. For this type of transportation, the Super Shuttel worked out just fine. Note: A taxi ride with tolls and tip is about $65 one way. CAUTION: See the Super Shuttle reviews on Yelp for other airports. Some really low ratings. Perhaps, I got lucky, or they cleaned up their act. This was hassle free, at least for me, at a good price. read more

Well, here I was all prepared to write an original review for this company, but I must echo my fellow Yelpers...NEVER AGAIN!!! Unless you are on a seriously-restricted budget (I'm talking sleeping in hostels and packing your own Ramen...and I happen to LOVE Ramen), then pay for a cab and spare yourself the stress. After reading that SuperShuttle was recommended by both the NYC guidebooks I clutched close to my chest (including Frommer's), my friend and I booked them at the same time as our hotel via Bookit.com. We printed out our vouchers and clambered off our red-eye into LaGuardia. We had no clue where we were supposed to meet our shuttle as our printed confirmations were vague at best, but finally found a help desk. The attendant barely spoke English but was very sweet and managed to get us on one of the help desk phones to SS. Things went seriously downhill from there. Despite our printed reservations clearly stating that we were to call SS from the Ground Transport help desk after landing, the woman on the phone SCREAMED at my friend that we were supposed to make pickup reservations 48 hours in advance. 48 hours BEFORE WE LANDED. Even the second-shift help desk lady said "DANG, she must be having a bad day, cuz that ain't right!" We finally got someone to tell us where to meet our shuttle. Whereupon things went even further downhill. The driver was extremely befuddled and then downright pissy about our printed Bookit.com passes...apparently we are the first people in the history of LaGuardia and SS to use them?!? They had bar codes! They had confirmations! He finally grudgingly allowed us into the shuttle...only later did we realize he'd kept our round-trip confirmation papers...something we paid through the nose for to re-print later in the hotel. It is completely true that you're squashed into a van with people you don't know (thank God everyone in ours was cordial) as the driver hustles (as in, screaming "TRANSPORTATION!") outside the terminal. He left the windows down and I finally had to reach up and turn on the heat at the request of the teeth-chattering riders in the back. As to when you'll reach your hotel...well that's on God's good humor. We were at 59th/5th in Manhattan, but it still took almost two hours for us to reach our hotel from the time we got into the van, and traffic was NOT bad at all. So for our return trip back (which we'd already pre-paid, otherwise we would have just taken a cab), we were picked up on time and then given a tour of upper Manhattan as the (more polite this time) driver scooped up other riders. We were deposited back at our correct terminal on time, but for paranoid freaks like myself, having to wait on other people (one chick had to ramble back up to her apartment for another bag) at the risk of missing our flight just wasn't worth it. I WILL say I never felt unsafe with the actual driving...it was no better or worse than any other cab in New York. If you can't deal with some of the driving maneuvers, just close your eyes. As to why I've ranted out such a long-winded review...my main beef is that, as I mentioned before, SuperShuttle is touted in NYC guidebooks as THE WAY to get yourself from the airports to your destination. NOWHERE was it mentioned the wait time as the driver shills for more passengers, the squishing-in with people you don't know, the overall paranoia that OH CRAP you might miss your flight. This is definitely a case of "you get what you pay for" and I really wish the guidebooks would spell that out in more detail. Next time I visit NYC, I'll be taking a cab from the airport, tolls be damned! read more

I alost always take Super Shuttle out in the Bay Area, and has always been a lovely experience there. NOT IN NYC. Wish I had consulted with Yelp prior to booking. Checked in with the Ground Transportation desk at 5:40am and was told the Super Shuttle would be here at 6:33am. Didn't show up until much later. Then when we finally got into the city I basically drew last and three hours later, finally got home. Guess I got too used to being the first drop off in SF. Anyway, never again. I would give zero stars if I could because I got ripped. I had a 24 hour travel time to NY and once I landed I called to check in because the app wasn't telling me where the driver was. I get told it will be an hour and a half wait. Wait.... what? Yes the shared shuttle deal was too good to be true. The lady said they were short staffed and the first thing she mentions is.... would you like one to cancel? Like she was happy to cancel my shuttle..... ugh yah I guess so! It was 1030 PM and I was cranky and tired so I said yes cancel me! Got an Uber instead which was double the cost.m but whatever. I wasn't going to wait another hour and a half in a city I didn't know. Just a hint of advice..... make sure you have the Uber or lyft app before you land just in case. read more

I would really only use super shuttle to get me to the airport. I am not about to wait forever at the airport picking up other passengers but I don't mind the van taking a little longer to get me to the airport if it will cut my price in half. I'm still getting picked up right at my door and having the driver assist me with my luggage. I was tempted to give a slightly bad review because I was outside for 25 minutes waiting for the van at 5 in the morning and was freezing, but the driver was very nice and apologetic when he arrived so I will let it slide. got to the airport (JFK) in time and it ended up costing me $30 including tax and tip. I think that is way better than the $60 I will pay to get home via car service. read more

I have only had good experiences with SuperShuttle. I don't get to NYC often, when I do I fly into Newark. I reserve my trips online (the website is a bit confusing at times and could use a revamp). This past week I got safely to my hotel and back to the airport no problem. They sent me texts to remind me of my reservation and the vans were where they were supposed to be when promised. I'm fairly calm so I understand there are sometimes problems. With the transportation desk at Newark it's easy peasy! I will use them again. read more

Everything started off well. As I landed I got a text providing me instructions to check in for my pickup. It seemed pretty promising and efficient. It allowed me to follow the progress of the shuttle that was to pick me up and gave me update texts I was told to wait at the Welcome Center and the driver would come in to get me After 35 minutes, I checked the others again and it informed me that I had been picked up. Mission accomplished so to speak. I called and as told that was a mistake and the shuttle would be there in 2-3 minutes. Close to 10 minutes later a shuttle pulls up, the driver gets out and comes in and heads for Starbucks. I stop him and he seems confused, checks his little tablet, asks me my name and then takes me to the van. He puts both my luggage and me in and then heads back to Starbucks. Finally after over 5 minutes he returns and we are on our way. Total of close to 50 minute wait time. Book another service unless you enjoy waiting read more

Whatever you do, please don't take the SuperShuttle from LaGuardia! Had to wait over 45 minutes in the evening before our van arrived! Then, we got stuck going all the way to the Bronx before finally being dropped off at our hotel in Midtown East! The driver was friendly enough, but this long wait & drive into our hotel was completely unacceptable. I later found out that a cab ride would only have been about $5-10 more expensive...So, basically, saving money is not all that it's cracked up to be! Did not pick us up at scheduled location. Called me and told me to walk down the block to the corner. Driver expected us to be ready at 3:45 and was only willing to wait until 4:00 even though our reservation window was between 4:00-4:15. Additionally, he stopped to get gas during the trip. I understand the necessity. I don't understand why this wasn't completed before picking us up. Took 2.5 hours to get to the airport. Will never be taking this service again. read more

The overall experience was positive. The pick up time should've been more accurate like when they are taking you to the airport; I like my ride to be there when it says it is especially during the winter. Shared rides are good when the driver & fellow passengers are polite. My driver of car 726 was knowledgeable of the roads & got me to my destination safely. I've had a similar experience as Mary G, except I live in the East Village! It's not that they're a no show, but that every trip home has been a disaster. At first we thought it was a fluke and we willing to try again. But the vans were impossible to find, the driver surly, the people on the phone unhelpful and resulted in taking over 3 hours to get home once our plane landed and we had our bags. With no traffic. It seems that when you finally FIND a van, if it's not full, they'll circle around the airport to hustle up more business, keeping you captive in an endless cycle of airport hell. Thank goodness we're usually the first people let off. I can't imagine how long it took to get passengers #6 and 7 home. read more

This is the second and last time I will use their service. I made a reservation online and followed all the steps in checking in and waited and waited at the terminal. I saw drivers come and go. Sometimes picking up people that just made a reservation. Some drivers just walked around the terminal without asking if people were waiting for a ride. I called the number again and am still waiting for the driver. Super Shuttle will be around for a long time. I just won't be a patron of theirs. Kinda sucks to be the last person to leave the airport on your flight. read more

You'll see the same two-word phrase in this review that shows up in many others: never again. While it's largely the fault of the Super Shuttle service itself, it also can be blamed on its customers. First, the service. It's designed to be difficult. When we arrived at LGA, we followed directions to call SS from the phone at baggage claim. We were at Terminal C. Easy enough? No. They use their own numbering system, not the airport's. Does SS display a guide to that system where the phone is located? No. So you have to consult a red-jacket, who may or may not have the answer. Can you ask the driver of an SS van out on the curb? If he speaks English, he might know. Then you confront the reality that delivering 10 passengers to Manhattan from Queens will take as long as two hours, depending on your place in the driver's Mr. Toad's Wild Ride route. And coming from the airport is the good part. For the trip back to the airport, your pickup will be scheduled as much as four hours before your flight. Annoying, but there are reasons. Like passengers who take the pickup time as a suggestion and leave the van and its occupants sitting at the curb for 20 minutes while they finish moussing their hair. Or bringing a van 60 blocks uptown, then declaring they've decided to ride to the airport with friends. Or engaging in an hour- long argument about whether or not they've pre-paid. We probably saved $15 on our round trip compared to a likely $80 in cab fare. Never again. read more

If you're on your way to JFK or Newark, this is the best way to get to there. If you're two people, the price ($30 includes tolls plus tip) is a deal to JFK (the price goes up per person so if you're more than two, a taxi is better). If you're three, it's still a deal ($30 includes tolls plus tip) for Newark. If you're going to La Guardia, it's $15 for one and $11 for each extra person. I take the M60 to La Guardia. You will share the van with other passengers, but usually you won't have to leave your house any earlier than if you were going to take a taxi, unless you're going to travel during rush hour. I don't recommend taking the Shuttle back from the airport unless you're coming out of Newark. The time it takes to get to your destination can seem like forever. read more

Best Super Shuttle experience ever! I've used Super shuttle many times over the last 6 years since I moved to LA from my native NY. For those who are unhappy with wait times, bumpy rides, sitting through endless drop offs, what do want for $20 ish? Pay $70 and take a cab. Since I'm from NY I know not to waste money on insignificant things. Of course my adult son was with me on this trip so I was very relaxed. I may not want to use this ride share alone. Tonight we had Khalid. He was super accommodating without being annoying. He let me sit in the front which for me is a must (prone to carsickness). He let us be the number 3 drop off despite being on the west side. He kept taking add on calls while on the way out of JFK. I admire someone who doesn't turn down an opportunity Thank you Khalid and thank you the lovely Super Shuttle concierges at the welcome center. A pleasant experience from start to finish! Gawd I should have checked Yelp before electing to make a reservation w/ Super Shuttle to get from JFK into Manhattan. Gripe #1 When using the dedicated phones to call Super Shuttle after landing (after a red-eye), they didn't pickup. Tried again. And again. My last desperation attempt 14 minutes after first attempt worked. WTF. Gripe #2 Incredibly tardy & terrible customer service when calling in via the dedicated phone lines. They said the shuttle would arrive in 10-15 minutes. 30 minutes later, called in again and they said 3-5 minutes. They finally arrived 20 minutes later. With no apology. Gripe #3 I understand the business model and the concept of sharing the shuttle. But dude packed 10 of us like sardines. Ouch. Gripe #4: Back seat of shuttle has like 6 inches of leg space. Your knees are pressed up against the back of seat in front of you. Not comfortable to say the least. Not the best experience, to say the least, after an LA to NYC red-eye. read more

Terrible service for JFK to Manhattan. On the way there I called when I got there and they said 20-25 mins. Then when I called again they said again 10 mins, then I called again they said another 5mins and another 5 mins. Finally at 10AM 2.5 hours after my flight landed and I had been waiting. I called and they said they missed me???? WTF???? Then on my way back they picked me up, everything was fine, but they squished too many people in and I felt so bad because the rest of the folks were international travelers so I squished myself so the lady sitting on the edge could actually sit. Advice to those traveling, don't bother using the shuttle it's a joke. Great business idea would be a taxi share that would group people and enable them to get up to 2 - 3 people per taxi so you don't get squished and you pay 1/2 of the $45+tip to get to your hotel in comfort. read more

As im writing this..its been 3 hours since ive landed and i still havent gotten to my location. Also, the driver had no idea how to get around Manhattan. During the Holiday Season, SuperShuttle really knows how to screw people over. Here's what's gone down during my experience with them: 1. One May weekday, the driver yelled at me for having a really big suitcase. Then during that same trip he picked up WAY TOO MANY PEOPLE in our little shuttle! The suitcases were piled to the top of the car and I think this usually 8-person seat shuttle held 13. 2. During Thanksgiving time, I was waiting outside my building fifteen minutes ahead of time. Just waiting. Thirty minutes later, I sensed something was fishy. I called the dispatcher who said that they could NOT locate where my shuttle was. I had to go rush to get a cab in order to not miss my flight. Compensation? They told me to get a cab receipt and I would've had to mail it in and wait for it to be processed. In all, I guess I've been stood up by SuperShuttle twice. That was one too many times for me to realize that maybe SuperShuttle and I just don't get along. They can be really awesome when it's the middle of April or something, when no one has anywhere to go. But, otherwise, it gets crowded and unreliable. read more

After 45 minutes of waiting at LaGuardia airport, after landing at 11:30 PM, I was told by the dispatcher that I would have to wait up to an "additional hour". That's when I just bagged it and called a private car service, which picked me up instantly (for twice the price). I called for a refund, which they said would take "5-10" business days, but assured me that my next-day ride TO the airport from Manhattan would be more reliable and pick up within 20 minutes of the scheduled time. The reason given for the two hour middle of the night delay? The phone rep said: "Pickups at the airport are based on supply and demand." What is the point of a reservation then? If anything, ONLY use for trips TO the airport, and if doing a roundtrip, be prepared to WAIT at any time, for any length, day or night, at some airport curb, until "supply and demand" decides you may now be given a ride. read more

I tried SuperShuttle after having numerous bad experiences with AirLink. I don't know what it is about these airport shuttles, but they just suck! Like some of the other reviewers have said, taking the shuttle TO the airport is not a bad deal. You usually have to leave much earlier than you would like, but whatever. I live in Gramercy and have always been the last stop. SuperShuttle gets points over AirLink for giving you a 2-minute call before they are at your door. Now, taking it home from the airport was just plain tortuous. I waited a full 30 minutes for the shuttle to arrive, despite being told it would be 20 minutes or less. And then, once the driver arrived, I had to watch him fill out paperwork for a good 10 minutes before we could leave the terminal. Despite the fact that we didn't pick up anyone else on the way out of the airport, we stopped at 2 different terminals while the driver drove painfully, painfully slow. Once out of the airport, the driver decided to take a bizarrely inefficient route, which included a tour of Brooklyn and a trip across the very congested Brooklyn Bridge. Once in Manhattan, he drove at literally 20 mph (such a departure from the normally maniacal drivers but equally as frustrating) to drop off the first passenger at a hotel right by the Staten Island Ferry. I know everyone needs to get home, but choosing the farthest tip of Manhattan to make your first stop and then backtracking all the way back up through Manhattan (at 20 mph) seems pretty dumb. Despite the fact that there were only 3 of us in the van (mind you, it can fit 11), I still didn't get home until 11:20pm after calling for my van at 9:55pm. Awful. read more
