Terrible service. Scheduled a shuttle from LaGuardia airport to Manhattan. I followed the check in directions exactly and was told that my 4 pm pickup would be an hour late. They had not even started driving from manhattan yet. Well that hour turned into almost 2 hours with 4 changes of van numbers. Called the customer service help number and they offered to cancel my reservation and then gave me a recorded line when I asked to make a formal complaint. I canceled the return trip and my hotel arranged a cab. cab cost $50. Shuttle was $40. I advise you to call your hotel and get assistance with ground travel. Only bright spot was the driver was kind enough to drop us off first instead of one of the other 3 groups on the shuttle. Update: never received any sort of customer service follow up. Company did nothing. Don't use these guys. The company replied that they reached out to me is ridiculous. They needed to reach out with a full refund. What happened to us was in an isolated accident it's how they do business. I wouldn't give a company a review like this if I didn't think that this is how they manipulated people on a regular basis. read more

Never again. I'm writing this review as I sit in the back seat of a supershuttle van. Ive given them a good enough chance and this 1-star review is based on my last 3 rides to Newark. First off, there is no logic behind their pick up times. I am 30 minutes into the ride and we are picking up other passengers, and we have driven past my apt twice, and will do so a third time before heading out the city (I live near the holland tunnel- logically the people that live closer to the "exit" of the city should get picked up last instead of being dragged to midtown, no?) So, I'm waiting outside and the driver shows up late, (I know it's 6am, but a smile or a "hello" wouldn't kill you haaamie) I ask him if I can sit in the front, and he says "sure, if you want to sit on pee" and proceeded to tell me that someone "couldn't hold it"...um, wtf. That should sum up the general interior condition of the van. Oh and last time I was picked up from Newark to NYC, I pre-planned and made a reservation, paid $25, and once at the airport the driver was picking up last min rides for $16, i complained, called supershuttle, they apologized said someone would call me, and that never happened. I've tried to be empathic towards today's driver, and tried to envision his life and how stressful it must be to pick up random people all day long and deal with NYC traffic, but I realize it's not the drivers fault, it's the company- the lack of organization. This is the worst car service I have ever had! I will NEVER use this service again. If I didn't cancel the reservation and take a taxi instead. I would have missed my flight. The van was more than 30 minutes late and they didn't even bother to call and send a text to update me. When I called the customer services and asked about the status, my answer was to wait for another 30 minutes (with no apologies!!). The customer reps are poorly trained with horrible attitude. They put you back on hold (intentionally) when they don't want to deal with you and because the system reroutes you to a new rep if they don't pick the phone call back up in 5 minutes later (stupidest customer care policy i've ever heard). After I talked to the third rep, i just had it. Canceling my res was only the positive thing in my trip. It will take a 3-5 days to get 20 bucks back. No issues getting to the airport. Booked online 2 days in advance. Cost $35 for 2 people. When booking, the site listed various options for pickup times. The options ranged from 12pm to 1:15pm for a flight leaving from Newark at 4:30pm. I went with the 12:30-12:45 option. The van arrived at 12:37pm. The driver was friendly. He confirmed the destination and loaded the luggage in the back. When we got in the van there were already 6 people waiting in the van from 3 different pickups. The driver made 2 additional pickups which took 20 minutes. We arrived at the terminal at 1:41pm with plenty of time to spare. Overall the experience was good and was far less expensive than taking a taxi and even less expensive than taking the train. My only complaint is that the drive was a bit rough. In part from the drivers aggressive driving and in part from outside factors such as bad roads and other drivers. read more

The driver was late for half and hour, and on top of that, left behind two passengers at a terminal, which we had to loop around back to the terminal where they were left off again. All together, about 45-50 minutes of everyone's time was wasted. When my number was called, the driver was also casually chatting with the operator at the desk as if he had no other passengers to pick up. So much time was wasted on inefficiency, and carelessness in handling issues that can be avoided if only more attention was paid to the customers and the respect of time management. It is my first time I am posting a review about a service. Our driver was amazing. This is a tough job, he was super patient and friendly and helpful. Super shuttle #313 Angel. I actually dropped my driver licence and he came back to airport just to return my driver licence. I am so grateful that I rode with super shuttle. Wow, wish I had read the reviews first. Took a Super Shuttle van to LGA - no problems. Although picked me up waaay to early for my flight but whatever, it is cheap. The problem was on the return. As others have said the desk isn't labelled at all. I make a reservation with the girl at the desk and she tells me 1/2 hour wait. I was thinking I could be home in a cab in the time it took to wait (should have gone with that feeling) but decided since it was cheap and I wasn't travelling with my dog I would wait it out. 45 minutes later, I'm called to the desk to be told that my van wasn't there. I stand there for 10 minutes then ask - really, how much longer because it has now been an hour. A couple of minutes later my driver shows up and I get the duty of putting my own luggage in the van - hey thanks! Then I climb in the van, that has other riders in it to wait another 10 minutes while the driver is approaching people at the airport to offer rides. ISN'T THAT ILLEGAL????? I ask the driver how much longer we are going to wait (not rude, not cursing) and his response was "the taxis are over there" Yes, they are and I will be in one forever forward. PS - Super Shuttle: I'm responsible for approving the travel plans of our company - we move 100 people 2-3 times a year. We will never employ your services regardless of how cheap. read more

Not so super shuttle. Not at all super. A misnomer, actually. I used SS on a recent trip to and from home on semester break. I'm a student so I thought I'd save a few bucks. The guy that picked me up on the way to the airport was surly, unhelpful, and drove like a maniac. Did I mention that the super shuttle has NO HEAD RESTS on the passenger seats, so if this psycho gets into a wreck, guess what...the best thing you can hope for is to be paralyzed from the neck down, because your neck is going to snap clean off. I might not have worried so much if this guy didn't drive the van like we had been shot out of a big blue cannon. Did I mention that if you live way uptown, like way way uptown, you should NEVER consider using this service--they will pick you up first, and then you will have 6 or so stops, waiting for 20+ minutes in the van while the driver calls the next pick up, and when they don't answer, pulls up and rings the bell for another 15 minutes...not every passenger is so "super" on super shuttle. On my way back from JFK, I decided to give it another try. Why did I do this? My plane landed at 9:15 am, I had my bags by 10 am...and at NOON this dude comes to pick me up. As other reviews have said, when the super shuttle shows up they take a few people at a time, who all seem to be going where I'm not. TWO HOURS it took for the guy to show up and of course, I'm always the last stop so it ended up being a total of 3+hours. Never again. I used them to go from JFK airport to the Marriott Marquis. I made the reservation the day before and was impressed by the ease and seemingly easy directions. After landing I just had to follow the signs to baggage claim and locate the welcome center. I arrived at the welcome desk and Victoria assisted me. I gave her my confirmation number and she asked me for the exact address of the New York Marriott Marquis. When I told her that I don't have it but can look it up she asked me "how can you not know the address of where you are staying?" I told her that it is the New York Marriott Marquis and the address is on the reservation. I showed her where I was sent a link to click to check myself in but that I was not sure of what that may entail. I asked her if she wanted me to click on the link to check myself in and she said that it will not show the address and that I need a printed ticket. Victoria told me that there are several New York Marriott Marquis in NYC. That is not a fact and I was beginning to feel harassed but I got over myself because I'm NYC for a fun weekend. I looked down at her computer screen and noticed that she did not know how to spell Marriott. Instead of facing her inability to do her job she was trying to make me feel inadequate. That was not a difficult task because this is my first time using this shuttle service and I obviously did not know where to go besides her welcome desk. I recommend she be given a spelling "cheat sheet" of the major hotels. I waited a reasonable time for the driver to arrive (maybe 30 minutes) and he was was polite. He made eye contact and asked to carry my bag. He was also a safe driver. I also want to add that I received 7 text messages from this service while I was waiting. The messages were giving me my driver number and my customer number. I was referred to by two different customer numbers and given three different driver numbers. This was confusing but I think if you have an informative and pleasant welcome desk employee this is a good service. read more

Sigh. Nothing new to add. Made a reservation, was given a 15-minute wait time, and got myself into a cab 30 minutes later. The best part: there was a totally empty Super Shuttle van in front of me the entire time I waited, and the guy finally got out...to smoke a cigarette. Not worth waiting for at Newark airport. A share ride from Newark airport in lyft or uber cost around $40, while SupperShutttle charges $23. However, No one wants to come off a 3 hours flight and wait 2 hours for a van pickup plus 1-2 hours more to pickup and drop off other passengers. I booked my ride for 9:20 PM and checked in via the app at 9:15. While the app showed me the assigned van and driver there was no movement for 55 minutes. After 1 hour of waiting outside the terminal, driver shows up with 4 other passengers already in the van but he said that he meeds to pickup 4 more passengers at other terminals. This would make my trip to Manhattan almost 3 hours. Time is money and saving lousy $20 on a ride is really not worth this torcher. read more

I waited for the shuttle for 1 hour. Called the customer service 3 times. Each time, they gave an attitude instead of apologizing. The last person told me to call a cab. She also mentioned that i will get reimbursed. I barely made it to the airport. It was super stressful. Now i am trying to get reimbursed. They are telling me that i can only get the difference back minus tips. I don't know what kind of games you are playing with the people. Overall horrible service. Okay not exceptional. It got us where we needed to be but the getting to it was terrible. Would take the Newark liberty coach instead. We pre-booked tickets online for a designated time. We were told to find the ground transpiration phone and call it. I would assume this allows the driver to know we are here and to come to the pick up spot. The instructions told us to find their desk upstairs. When getting there we weren't sure where to go, but saw all their vans lined up outside. So we went there, just to be told by our driver that we had to go back and find the desk and check in. Turns out the desk was just the Newark airport info desk. The lady was friendly and printed out another voucher to our printed confirmation and told us to wait half and hour. I was appalled since the vans are outside and we had a designated time and that 3 Newark liberty buses would have left during this time. 20 mins later that driver came back and asked specifically about us and why he was never called. After about ten minutes of confusion we were finally told to board the van. Then it went to terminal c then to a then to c again. I understand why, but they need a better system to organize All this 45 mins later we were on our way. He drove fast but jerky and car sickness is not fun. He dropped off other ppl an we were last. I kept myself busy following along on a map. It'd okay but expected better. Would take the bus next time. However this one drops you to your door so if you are unfamiliar with the city or do not live near a subway this is a good idea. read more

Had to wait over an hour past the reservation time for the shuttle to show up. was told via email that my shuttle between 15 and 45 minutes of checking in. After 30 minutes of waiting, I hadn't even received a shuttle number yet. I called an agent, they were of no help. Called back 15 minutes later, still no shuttle number, agent said it would be at least 30-45 minutes before a shuttle might arrive. Called back again about 20 minutes later, finally was able to get a shuttle number. Asked to speak to supervisor to see if I could get a credit back due to the prolonged wait. Instead I was just put in the queue and picked up by another agent. Finally the shuttle arrived about 100 minutes after I checked in. I wouldn't normally write a review for a service like this but I had a pretty good experience and was pretty shocked to see all of the negative reviews. I booked online two days before I needed a ride to the airport. I was leaving the Upper Westside and flying out of Newark (EWR) at 7:30am EST. (dumb on my part for booking that early of a flight.) My friends had told me the subway + airtrain (which was not running and I would have to take a bus) would cost me about ~$15 and over an hour to get to, I weighed my options between cab, Uber, and suppershuttle. There is no flat fee to EWR via cab so that was X'd. Uber said $65 + toll - ehh Super Shuttle.com quoted me $25. SOLD I signed up for the text alerts and was reminded the day before and was reminded the day of as to who my driver was and the shuttle number. The driver arrived within my 15 min. window and we were on our way (thankfully I was the last stop). The only weird thing is for my 7:30am flight, the latest I could have been picked up was 4:30am - 4:45am. kind of early but I'll take it. I'd rather be on the safe side. Next time, I'm in NYC and have an early flight I will definitely use Super Shuttle read more

It's sad that there aren't more options for airport transportation in NYC. SuperShuttle is just terrible. The prices aren't low enough to justify the "shared ride" concept. The reservation agents are rude. They pick you up WAY TOO EARLY (4 hours before flight time for a regional flight -- really??). The vans themselves are old, gross, and smell of a middle school locker room. For EWR, can't beat NJ Transit or even a bus from midtown (Coach USA). For LGA, spring for a cab. I check Yelp reviews for everything else...why oh why did I not check this time? This has got to be my worst Shuttle experience. I have used this service in other cities but so disappointed this time. I arrived in EWR and had to get to Manhattan. I didn't realize that the shuttle services are not so reliable on timings in EWR so called Super Shuttle to make a reservation for pickup. I had to tell the operator a few times where I was and the # of people and she still messed up. I needed a pickup for 2 people and she only entered and charged for 1 even after asking if the second person was under 5 years of age..WTH!?!? The driver said it was not a problem when he arrived and took the two of us but we would have to pay him for the one person not charged. Not a problem - but I have a problem with the price. Couldn't get a straight answer why the operator charged $24 and he charged $20? Hmm, something is very strange indeed... After he picked up the other passengers we were off to Manhattan. Most of the group in the van was staying at the same hotel in Times Square, we were at another one, and two girls were somewhere in Madison Square. You would think he would drop all us TS people at once? Not that simple...he dropped half the group at the Sheraton then had to go down a few streets to my hotel. The last drop should have been in Madison. But no, he goes to Sheraton then drives out to Madison Square and then back to TS. On top of that it was raining and the driver couldn't find his iPhone. So while he was supposed to be focused on driving instead he was rummaging around the floor looking for his iPhone. You can imagine the driving involved :/ A shuttle from hell for sure!! I will NEVER use this service again when I am in NJ/NY..judging from the rest of the reviews I shouldn't have gone with them in the first place. Service from Washington Heights to Newark was a lot smoother than my trip into Manhattan. I received messages for when the shuttle was nearby, though the driver got lost and had to call. The driver also said that he wasn't expecting luggage from me, however I clearly remember indicating luggage on the online reservation system. Bah. Not horrible but definitely frustrating. However, I do have to tell that the source of the frustration were mostly my fellow travelers and not the company. Let me explain. 1) If you pay online, print your confirmation! The driver will have hard time locating your reservation without it. 2) For the love of all that is sacred, once you call the operator that you're ready to be picked up -- STAY AT THE AGREED SPOT!!!! Our driver spent 30 minutes running around looking for people who called in and then walked off the meeting spot. The rest is obvious -- this is cheaper than a taxi but you do depend on other travels to get their sh!t together. Also, if you're the last to be dropped off, it's going to be a looooooong time driving around Manhattan. If you need transportation to JFK - take the NYAS bus instead. I took Super Shuttle in Dallas and the driver sat at the hotel parking lot for over an hour with the van full all but one empty seat. He could have made it to the airport and back to the hotel in the hour he sat at the hotel trying to cram it with that last person! In NYC where I live, it is no better. Extremely bad timing and coordination, very frustrating. Picked me up 1 hour early from my home to go to the airport and warned me 5 minutes before they were coming 1 hour earlier than scheduled. Who does this? I pre-scheduled a picked at the airport and had to wait over an 1.5 hours, my flight came in at 12:30, I didn't get home until after 5pm. It said my pickup time would be 1:30, and I scheduled far in advance. Not worth the money I paid at all. I find the price to be very expensive if you have to coordinate with their schedule, which is whenever they can either pick you up or drop you off. If you want to sit in a shuttle and wait for over 5 hours and pay a lot of money - go for it. read more

So far I had positive experience taking it TO the airport. However, from airport is a NIGHTMARE. Be prepared to wait for an hour at least after you check in, even with prior flight information. They simply don't care. The tracker shows driver has arrived at airport but been spending 20 mins at each terminal. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. My Girlfriend flew back to LGA from California last night. She made a reservation well in advance, and was very nervous about it because her flight got in at midnight. Sure enough, she got off the plane, called this service and was told it would be 45 minutes before the shuttle arrived. Fine, no big deal. 45 minutes later she called, and was told it would be over an hour. This was at 1 am. When she told them she wanted her reservation cancelled, and her credit card refunded, they said they could not do it because her credit card company was closed or some other BS. Finally she just took a cab. I will bad mouth this service to everyone who will listen. They were rude, unreliable, and completely incompetent. I booked a reservation through Cheaptickets for my flight that came in at 9 pm, assuming that someone would be there waiting. Unfortunately, my "reservation" was only a reservation in the loosest definition of the word. I found out that I would have to wait half an hour for the shuttle to actually get there. (Apparently they only call the driver after you've picked up your luggage and are sitting there waiting.) What's the point of reserving a shuttle service if you have to wait half an hour after you've already arrived? Then, I found out that I had needed to print my voucher. I may have been naive to do it, but I hadn't printed the information out (I had just written out the confirmation number in an attempt to be environmentally conscious. Cheaptickets didn't make it clear that I needed to print a voucher). So they told me I would have to pay the full price to use their shuttle service and then call Cheaptickets for a refund. THEN I found out that the $41 I paid for the transfer didn't include a $5 fare for one of the roads, so the price would be $47. Needless to say, I ended up walking outside and taking a cab. There wasn't a wait and I paid $45. Should have just done that from the start. read more

If I could give zero stars, it would be too generous. I booked a trip to South America, and my departing and arriving flights were going to put me at JFK at around 2:30am, so since I'd had a decent experience with Super Shuttle a few years ago, I thought it would be the best route to go. Wrong! The driver scheduled to pick me up arrived 20 minutes early, repeatedly honking his horn after having called me. I felt rushed, which is not the way I wanted to start my trip. However, I could have dealt with that, except after he dropped off all the other passengers at their terminals, he started hitting on me. So unprofessional, and very uncomfortable! I was told in my confirmation email that a shuttle may not be immediately available when I arrived due to customs, traffic, etc. However, no where did it mention that my wait would be up to 2 hours, which is how long I had to wait after traveling for nearly 24 hours. To say I am upset is a huge understatement. I am very happy that I didnt prepay the tip, because this service is truly sub-par. I'd much rather spend an extra $15 per trip to get a reliable, convenient yellow cab. Update: After a manager read my review on Yelp, I was contacted and told that my post would be given to local management. I was impressed that they took my concerns seriously, and hope that the service improves. Hence, I moved it to a two star rating. Although I was not pleased with the service I received this month, I was impressed by management, and consequently may give them another try going to the airport, but I'll still stick with a taxi for the way back. read more

Terrible service. Waited 45 minutes for pickup from LGA with reservation. When the van finally did pick up we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to pick everyone else up. No one was happy. The van driver told us he had been working since 3am (so going on his 12th hour) which just plain is not safe. Going back to LGA from Manhattan, my pickup time was 8:30-8:45. The van did not arrive until almost 10. Avoid SuperShuttle. Shell out the extra $15 for Dial 7. read more

I was expecting this ride to be a nightmare because of all of the negative reviews on here. I was very pleasantly surprised with great service from Super Shuttle. My flight landed around 11 p.m. at Laguardia. I called on the phones, and my driver was there for me in 5 minutes. He crammed the bus full--no breathing room with every seat full like that. But I settled in for a long ride. Shockingly, he dropped me off first. I stayed near the United Nations, so geographically it made sense for me to get dropped off first. I was thrilled! From pick up to drop off was probably only 15 minutes! Other people on the shuttle were really upset as they'd been waiting hours for a shuttle to get them at the airport... I guess I just got lucky. My advice would be to research it out on the map and if it makes sense for you and you're on a tight budget, then book with SuperShuttle, but only if you know it's a big risk. I was prepared for the worst and they surprised me with great service. I also tipped my driver when I booked online so maybe that helped, I'm not sure. read more

The only reason I'm giving them a star at all is because they refunded the return leg of my reservation without a fight. I'd never used this service before today, but I was looking for a cost effective way to get to Newark from Manhattan. The driver called me at 4:15 AM on the outbound leg to ask if he could pick me up then. My reservation window was 4:45-5:00. I was still asleep at 4:15 AM. Needless to say, we didn't start off on a good foot. Return leg saw me wait 45 minutes at the airport. I finally walked outside and found the van # I knew I was assigned to. The driver verifies I am on his roster, but says he are waiting on more riders. I asked him how much longer we would have to wait and he didn't know. 45 minutes and he still didn't know when dispatch would let us leave?!?! The service is supposed to depart the airport within 15-20 minutes after you check in. I will NEVER use this service again. Walking back to the city would have been faster. read more

I do not recommend this service and am amazed that they have not been reported to the better business bureau. Called an hour before our pick up time (2:30am) and expected to pick us up then. Hurried to get ready and made it into the van - what's the point of the window times?!? Took almost 2 hours to get to the airport, driver was rude and a terribly violent with his driving. If 0 stars were possible...I am too exhausted to type about my experience with this horrible service. But Yelp is making me so long story short: (1) ride arrived over an hour late; (2) driver never responded to my texts; (3) when driver arrived would not let me onto the shared ride because there were "too many bags" from other riders. Took me 10 minutes and several calls to customer service -- the driver calling to say he had to leave me -- before I got on. Honestly, just take an Uber or walk.
